Water's Edge Restaurant reviews
77 Absolutely sensational.
Food was fantastic
Customer service on point.
5 stars all the way
A huge disappointment for what I was hoping to be a special NYE celebration. Concerns began when a large group of patrons were kept waiting outside the restaurant as the staff readied the restaurant for the second sitting of the evening.never before experienced by me. Our party of 4 were eventually ushered to our Dome Dining space and seated at a table for 10 (long table) with four settings which I thought amateurish for a 'fine dining' restaurant, and indicated an abject lack of effort to reconfigure the seating to suit the next group (us). It was a further 30 minutes at least before we were attended to by the wait staff.no doubt a consequence of opening the doors to the second wave of patrons (us included) all at once. A further 15 minutes lapsed before we were able to order drinks. One of our group does not drink wine and ordered a cocktail (a humble aperol spritz) only be told that the restaurant was "not serving cocktails tonight". Really? On New Year's Eve? (just my thoughts.not voiced). It had all the appearance (only my perception) of an operating budget that did not extend to the cost of having a bartender available for guests on the evening.
There were other disappointments but suffice to say that we walked away from the Water's Edge Restaurant last night wondering whether we are behind the times when it comes to value for money (happy to pay heaps for fantastic value), expectations about fine dining (especially when promoted as such), and service commitment to customer satisfaction. We are unlikely to return.
Great food and restaurant on the lake, and the unique bubble rooms are a nice touch with clear views across the water.
In the the dome for my birthday. The food was amazing. Ask for Rashim, her service and knowledge of the menu was on point. Can’t go wrong.
Had such a great night! The 5.45pm setting was perfect for the sunset then we got the night sky. Service and food were amazing! Will definitely come back
One of pick restaurants in Canberra. Lovely winter outlook over Lake Burley Griffin. Expensive wines, but superb choice. Food beautifully made and presented. Recently organised a Father's Day lunch for myself and my wife (all my children elsewhere on the planet). Food, wine and service excellent. Location superb, ambience excellent.
Dining in the dome was amazing, a private dining space but we didn't feel at all isolated. The set menu was sublime and so delicious, the amuse bouche was fantastic. Rashim our waitress was lovely, with just the right amount of attentiveness without hovering. A thoroughly amazing experience and we will definitely be going back soon.
Staff were fantastic! Warm and attentive but not overbearing. Food was also amazing! We had the 5 course degustation and every dish was delicious. Would recommend
Had a nice 80th birthday lunch with about 12 of us. The attention and service was great. Food was very good too and they gave us a few extra things between courses. A very enjoyable experience
The best restaurants I’ve been to for a long while! Had the 5 course degustation menu with matching wines - sensational flavours! Great service, great location, amazing food - thanks for a great night!
Great place for an anniversary dinner. Wine matched food wonderfully, and special touch with dessert at the end
Fine dining at its best. So tasty, great environment, great view. Definitely recommend it!
Thank you to the staff at Waters Edge for providing a beautiful, unforgettable dining experience for my family and me. Special mention to Rashim, Pats and Fritz for their outstanding service. Highly recommend
The quality of food was of a very high standard, no doubt about that. Prices? IMHO it didn't commensurate with the size of a portion. $45 for two small pieces of lamb and a couple of microscopic cubes of beetroot? $25 for two average size prawns? You gotta be kidding! No way we are coming back - ever!
My partner invited me to dine with her as part of an anniversary/valentines day experience. Having been fortunate enough to experience several fine dining outings in Sydney (where I reside) over the years, I was thrilled to be served the most delicious culinary delights I have ever eaten, with immaculate service by the wait staff. There wasn't a single aspect to this dining experience that I could criticise.
Splendid dinner for two on Saturday 18 Feb. Every dish in the three course set menu was excellent as were the amuse bouche starter and the after main refresher. The pork jowl entree was a revelation (never had it before). Service was excellent (good timing between dishes). Altogether a 5 star experience. We’ll be back.
Could not rate our experience high enough! Quality of food and service were both excellent. A beautiful and pleasant spot with views across the water.
Had the 5 course degustation. Really enjoyed the food, the lamb was my favorite. Had duck instead of chicken, and it was good. Shouldn't have eaten the bread roll as I couldn't finish the dessert. It was very rich.
Had a nice window view but the ACT gov has building paraphernalia right outside. Service was lacking compared to other fine dining restaurants in Canberra. Waited for over a half hour to be served when I had already said on the form I was doing that degustation. Had to ask for another drink. Loses the star for service.
Delicious food, elegant service and a lively view.
Maintained over multiple visits.
Tired? Or maybe the A team is away down the coast. If you spend over $100 a person on a meal it should be special - not an uninspiring choice of dishes that would be served in the restaurant of a chain hotel (if they had a bad night). For example a dollop of lemon curd and a dollop of flamed meringue gets a fancy description but I can make something better at home. The best thing about the meal was the wine.
