The Conservatory Restaurant reviews
45I used to love this restaurant, eating there as often as possible and would always visit when people came from out of state. You always had to book in advance because it was so popular. So I'm surprised and disappointed to read that they have changed the venue from the lovely restaurant it was with an interesting menu, to a walk in only "simple and fast" option.
This place only survives by being the only option for food. If there was any competition they would be out of business.
Took 50min for a simple pizza, meat lovers which only had 2 meats on it and some of the slices didn’t have any meat on them. Had to hassle the restaurant twice for the food as they appear to have lost the order.
Such a beautiful venue but on the last day I went, tables hadn't been cleaned, we waited for ages for coffee, just didn't feel as special as this venue deserves
Given how busy it was, the service and time for food pre was very good. It's a bit of a barn but the view is spectacular
Great atmosphere with Mazing views. Staff very friendly and prompt service. Food was absolutely delicious but a bit pricey. However happy to pay for the experience
This is a great venue. Great architecture. Food is good. Incredible outlook. Canberra's premier event venue.
Terrible coffee
I wanna give zero star if I can
Somebody drop detergent in my coffee?
Barista don’t have skills
Just nice view and space.
A great place to go for brunch. Service and views are perfect. The food and coffee were fantastic. Highly recommended. Would like to return for lunch and/or dinner.
Nice view, but expensive for basic cafe food.hot drinks are small and very basic.for the price I would expect something more. E.g. Had poaches eggs on toast with avocado and blistered tomatoes.it came with 5 tomatoes, and 1/2 avocado, no butter with the toast. This would be fine but it cost $25 for this. My friend had the smashed avo with feta, and it was toast with a giant mount of avocado, with the feta mashed in, couldn't taste it, and a tiny sprinkle of dukkah on the top.to add two eggs was another $5. I feel like for the price, you could do better.there are plenty of other cafes where you can pay the same and get something much better, and even a real brewed chai on top (Rather than t2 tea bags).
Our wedding ceremony was at the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion. Maria was very welcoming and prompt in responding to our queries, and even agreed to our request to meet on site to discuss finer details for the day.
We also appreciate the team’s flexibility in accomodating with our timeframes and (supplier) requirements for the wedding ceremony, which ensured the ceremony went well without issues.
Lovely cafe and staff. Will come back again so I can see the arboretum when it's not so wet
I was very excited to get to know the place and enjoy my honeymoon. Unfortunately, the restaurant only had one vegetarian option I didn't feel like; I was happy eating just a side of chips, but the manager didn't allow it, and we had to leave. I definitely do not recommend the place
Really delicious chicken Pie with a gorgeous view either inside out of the weather or outside on the lawn. Also really enjoyed the coffee:)
After a lot of deliberation, I chose Ginger Catering for my wedding. Unfortunately I had to reschedule and cancel the wedding. Ginger Catering were accommodating and lovely to deal with. They are known for being the best in the business so would recommend to anyone.
We had our wedding at the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion - Maria and the team were amazing! Maria was very organised in the lead up to the event which we really appreciated. The staff on the day were so friendly and helped us pull off the proceedings flawlessly. The views at the Pavilion are unbeatable!
Simple lunch choices at a reasonable price- pastries, pies, wraps and cakes but stunning view and spacious dinning area and perfect walk/ playgrounds at national arboretum. Cannot complain
Great and innovative breakfast menu with the best dining view in Canberra. The gingerbread waffles were amazing
The location and view is great. The food is very underwhelming for the price and the service is a bit slow.
The menu looks good. Unfortunately after having a bad experience ordering coffee I didn't buy anything else. When I was not made the coffee I ordered their only suggestion was "you can come around and pay for your latte here"! So, I was expected to pay for two drinks because they got my order wrong? I think maybe some service training is in order, I expect I won't be returning.
