Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant reviews
60We Indians can't run without tea, the owner went beyond expectations to accommodate us in his personal parking and served the tea in the car as I wanted. Nevertheless to say, the tea was great in taste and the service was amazing. Thank you. HNY22
Great small restaurant with a nice flair.
I went there several times and the service was perfect every single time.
The food was delicious.
I would recommend it to everyone without hesitation.
Absolutely loved it- the flavours were so rich and took us back to India. The staff were great too. Not too pricey:) Only drawback was service time was slightly delayed and we had to wait heaps for food to arrive.
Best Indian Food and professional service I have ever experienced.
I organised a function for 20 people at Taj Mahal. The function was a great success all due to the magnificent organisation, attention and service from all the staff at this wonderful establishment. The plentiful and delicious Indian dishes topped off a wonderful evening. I can not recommend the Taj Mahal Restaurant enough.
Awesome food, great service, will definitely be coming back. Props to the guy serving us for my sister I laws birthday!
Best Indian restaurant in Canberra. I have made this my choice for Indian for many years. We are never disappointed.
Tasted couple of Indian restaurants in Canberra but this one still is the best. Every dish is authentic and liked the advise & attitude of the person taking the order and managing everything.
Tandoori chicken with green sauce is a must try. Also the malai kofta. Yum yum.
We booked the booth on the first level and its the best seat in the house. Quiet, chill and the service is helpful and friendly. Been here a few times and it never disappoints. Nothing pretentious here, just traditional food with amazing flavours. Trust me, you will return.
The chicken that burnt my mouth was so yummy, that I couldn't even resist it after even my mouth was burnt by it.
However didn't try anything else.
We let Shannon, the waiter, make a recommendation and settled on the 4 dish banquet. The food was plentiful and good. Washed down with a couple of beers and wine. Finished off with a coffee. Access is limited due to the steep stairs but the restaurant is comfortable. Highly recommend
Great Indian married with excellent service! I'm not normally a fan of desserts like gulab jamun and kulfi but Taj Mahal had the best I've tasted. I recommend the masala tea to cap off an evening of fine Indian cuisine.
Absolutely delicious Indian food and such a nice cozy restaurant. Both the chef and gentleman who assisted us, were so friendly and helpful and even gave us free rice. This has now become our favourite Indian Restaurant in Canberra!
Amaaaaazing food and customer service! After one visit has jumped into my top 2 Indian restaurants of all time. Came here on a recommendation from a friend and will definitely be adding it to my go to places.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Canberra. Excellent food and service time after time and reasonably priced too.
This is a gem of a find (it's up stairs if you are having trouble finding it). Really really good Indian, fair prices and good service. Atmosphere was nice too.
What an amazing little find! Only to find it's been here since 1974. And yes, the fitout is still the same. Perfect time-capsule of old-school dining with great food and great service. Think the Indian version of Happy's Chinese, immersed in nostalgia, red vinyl and some of the best Indian food you'll ever have.
Slightly puzzled by the reviews on here. First time eating Indian food in Australia, maybe this lasses for good here, but overall the food here isn't very good at all. Vegetables were overcooked, and overall didn't feel like Indian food at all. Perhaps they've just gone too far in trying to make it palatable for the Aussie market?
Kind waiter though.
Went for dinner and the food was fantastic. The meat was so tender felt like it melted in my mouth. The naan was yummy and prices were reasonable.
Would definitely recommend and will return next time I'm in Canberra
A fantastic dining experience, amazing Chef and dedicated waiter ensuring that you enjoy a relaxing evening. Highly recommended
