Sweet Bones Bakery and Cafe reviews
70What a great find! I highly recommend this cafe for the food, the service and the outdoor setting. Check out the photo of the Loaded Banana Bread and the Smashed Avo. So delicious! The guys are super lovely and friendly. Will visit again!
Friendliest staff ever, would definitely go back. Acai bowl was a bit runny but I appreciated they made it even though it was no longer on the main menu.
Normally great food and service but it's severely dropped over the last few months.
Today on 19th of Feb, I watched as my drinks were ignored for more than 10 minutes after being ready, as people who ordered after me got their food and drinks, tables were cleared and cutlery polished and wrapped right in front of it.
Then when we asked for the drinks, the lady my partner spoke to had the audacity to tell us that those drinks weren't ours yet couldn't actually tell us who they were for. And then realised it WAS ours but offered no apology.
Staff spent too much time standing around, having a chat instead of focusing on their work and the customers.
I used to love coming here but until it gets better, I won't.
I come here almost everyday during my stay in Canberra. They offer delicious vegan breakfast and my most favorite is Mac wrap.
Recommend this cafe. They have a good menu and some lovely sweets. The smoothies are also nice, but a bit on the small side.
Not giving them 5 stars because the prices just keep jumping up in a way that doesn't reflect costs. Also think surcharges for plant milk in a vegan cafe is a bit ridiculous.
Nonetheless, still recommend.
I love the food from sweet bones so I ordered a birthday cake and it was very VERY dry and the taste was frankly just meh. Other items from the bakery are fine, cinnamon rolls are amazing. I was surprised and disappointed with the taste and quality of the cakes.
Ordered a coffee and walnut birthday cake for a discerning friend's birthday. Her favourite cake. She said it was the best she has ever tasted in her whole life and she's had a lot of C& W cake including in the UK. I thought it was brilliant too and the presentation was spectacular. Was my first experience of Sweet Bones, won't be my last.
If you’ve got meat eater friends who are “scared” to try vegan food, bring them here!
Best cafe food I’ve had in a while! (I had the jackfruit burger) Full of flavour and cool rock n roll interior and music.
Great service and delicious food. Gorgeous place to sit outside, and has a really relaxed atmosphere inside. I would recommend the mac and cheese wrap or the loaded banana bread.
I ordered the nachos, peanut butter cup, cherry bomb shake, melting moment and cheeseburger. I highly recommend the nachos, peanut butter cups and melting moment. The nachos tasted exactly like the real deal with mince meat! However, I dont recommend the cheeseburger- the burger patty included just two slices of tofu with some kind of cheese that was hard to really taste and some toasted coconut which didn't complement any of the flavours. The bread was soggy from all the tomato sauce which resulted in a really bland, extremely sweet and unpleasant burger.
Completely overpriced. Had breakfast there today and ordered the Soul Bowl. Paid nearly $20 for a very small bowl of a few veggies and a small bit of rice. Left hungry.
Delicious banana bread with extras. Ordered through Uber eats and arrived well presented ready to serve up for breakfast at home. Yum!
Great place to have a coffee and food. Chances are you’ve already seen this place on literally every ‘where to eat Canberra’ weekend blogs and sites, but it’s well deserved. It’s all vegan, and delicious. I have dairy and they easily accomodate the coffee etc - just ask for cows milk. Can’t go past the big breakfast or the burger. The treats in the front cabinet are always amazing as well and definitely eat one of the sausage rolls
Very nice vegan cafe and bakery, menu has lots of delicious options, plus their baked goods look really good. We had soy cappuccinos, breakfast burger with scrambled tofu and I also bought a vegan cinamon scroll to take away. Everything was very nice and tasty, I will definitely come back to try other dishes. Staff is very friendly and helpful, service is very fast.
I find it very interesting they class call themselves a vegan cafe but serve coffee made with cow's milk. Slightly hypocritical.
Disappointed that I'm disappointed. Catering good, service not so much. The tea was weak. No floor-staff asked me if Food&Bev was satisfactory (solo diner). No one checked if I needed cutlery, s&p, serviette etc. This frustration was exacerbated by difficultly getting staff attention due to being literally overlooked (front and centre) and noisy environment. Gave up and drank disappointing tea and got up and made necessary enquiries after staff checked their phone. Food was nice- a Fluffy warm bun and good simple combo. Reasonably priced but I opted out on sweets due to disproportionate pricing for size. Such easy fixes would improve service greatly and make pricing more worthwhile.
I love this belco bowl and cherry bomb smoothie. They are both so delicious. I'm not a vegan and was a bit sceptical whether these will fill me up or not. They actually did and I felt satisfied after consuming. I would definitely recommend. Yours truly @fooderarri
Great place to visit if you are in Canberra. My daughter is vegan and they had great options for both us as I am not vegan. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere, fantastic service and scrumptious food and coffee. It's a must visit eatery when in Braddon.
If you are in the mood for some truly wonderful gluten free cake or a cookie which won't leave you feeling guilty for being a little indulgent, be sure to drop in an enjoy some of the treats.
No body wipes the tables down. They are left dirty with food scrapes on them. Ive been here for half an hour and haven’t seen any cleaning.
