Sage Dining Rooms reviews
66My partner and I have been to Sage a few times and absolutely loved the dining experience. A big thank you to Beth for being so wonderful and so knowledgeable with the menu, ingredients and wine pairings. Highly recommended.
Was quite disappointing this time round, food not up to fine dining however staff as always very friendly and knowledgeable
All five courses were delish! And it was all timed nicely to let us digest. Bethany our waitress was lovely too, looked after us really well!
First experience at Sage, it was a lovely night. Our waitress (tia) was fantastic, really knowledgeable and friendly which I think adds to the experience.
The food was beautiful, the standout for us was the hassleback potato and the ocean trout.
It's always an absolute pleasure to dine at Sage and bask in the afterglow of such a wonderful tucked away gem.
It's inviting and fancy without being pretentious.
Staff are friendly, down to earth and add to the cosy intimate vibe this restaurant brings.
If you get the chance to do the annual truffle degastation, I promise you will not be disappointed!

I can honestly say that coming to Sage was one of the best dining experiences of my life, especially as someone who is vegan! The tasting menu was phenomenal. I attended with 2 others who aren't vegan and they were equally impressed with the quality of the food, unbeatable service and ambience. It was a delight to dine at Sage and I will definitely be back! Thank you so much xx
We enjoyed our dining experience at Sage very much. The food and wine were all delicious the service impeccable. Will go back again when in Canberra and would recommend to anyone.
This was in the Mint Garden, not Sage proper. The area was short-staffed, so waiting times to be served were long, and the drinks and food were very expensive. The Margarita pizza that I had was bland, not worth the $20.
Excellent food and service. The tasting menu had a great variety of creative and delicious dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back.
This is our 2nd time at Sage (regret not coming here for Valentines) this year and we will definitely keep coming back.
We were lucky to try their new menu today and can say that it was as phenomenal as last season’s menu. The star of the night for me is photographed below - wild mushrooms, ricotta, roast chicken stock and sheet pasta! Can’t get enough of that umami flavour, can easily have 20 bowls!
Highly recommend to do the drink pairing. I did the cocktail pairing, the others did the local wine, global wine, and non- alcoholic pairing and no fault. The team are very clever and the craftsmanship is undeniable.
Lastly, the service is impressive. Professional and friendly vibe, and we felt we were truly taken care of. Shoutout to Maddy and the team tonight ️
Perfect for date night, special occasions, or if you just feel like treating yourself.

Amazing place, went for a quiet lunch and the tasting menu was worth every cent. Tia was a great host and the parmesan custard was awesome.
Underwhelming mains, one of which was too tough for some of our party to even eat. Unpolished silverware. Starter tasted nice but was reminiscent of vomit in both smell and texture. Pasta dish was the saving grace. If it was a cheaper meal then these problems wouldn't be that notable but for the price you pay it just wasn't good enough. Would not recommend.
Oh dear a posh restaurant that asks you to score each dish. 2 out of 5 dishes were good the other 3 were pretty poor. Also got asked to sit outside to finish our drinks after the meal.
My partner and I went to Sage last night for our anniversary. It was above and beyond anything I've had in Canberra before.
The service was professional yet friendly and playful, dishes were clearly explained and any dietary requirements were taken in stride without any issues.
The space itself is cosy, intimate and lit perfectly, with a beautiful adjoining garden and outdoor bar. Comfortable seating and perfect climate control make for a lovely dining experience.
The food was absolutely amazing, all five courses of the degustation were well thought out and perfectly executed. I would highly recommend Sage to all and will be coming back soon to see what else they have to offer.
Beautiful multi course degustation. Great service, extra dishes brought out in between. Overall great experience.
Came here for the 5 course surprise scoring dinner.
Basically you sit down, confirm dietary requirements with the lovely staff (the main guy is handsome too, fyi) and then they ask you to provide scoring for each course, on the table paper, which is then collated at the end of the night and this will form the new season menu.
It adds a whole new layer of interaction and I must admit I was all for it. Makes you take a moment to pause and think about what you’re consuming and how it could be better, or changed etc. Really fun, definitely worth trying!
Highlights for me were the spanner crab and the chicken in the main dish category.
Come here if you’re coming to the Berra, our bill was very reasonable. Great wine list too.
NEVER going back
Certainly not value for money. Drinks and food way over priced and couldn't even manage there bar with having to ask patrons and staff for spare coin
Great Food, Service and Atmosphere made a special night to celebrate with Family. Love the degustation menu. Wine list is amazing.
What a great secret! This place has amazing food, excellent service people and a venue that you just want to spend your time in. I went for a 5 course dinner tonight and it was well worth every penny. I have never been before but I'll definitely be back. Whether it's fine dining or just some casual drinks at the Mint bar, it's a fantastic place to spend an evening.
Fabulous food, service and ambience. Wonderful exploration of flavours and textures. Pure joy every mouthful. One of our favorite dining experiences.
