I love coming here, it's a lovely sparkly gem of hawker. This unassuming cafe packs a punch when it comes to service and food. Staff are attentive and provide efficient service in a warm and approachable manner. Water was provided straight away. Drinks were served quite quickly after placing the order and my knife replaced with a steak knife before the food arrived. No matter how many times I go, the food presentation is impressive. Servings are generous and taste delicious. Hotcakes where light and fluffy, and cooked all the way through, a success for a hotcake so thick. The banana bread was satisfying, not overly sweet, not too dense, and still full of great banana flavour. I loved seeing morning steak on the menu - it makes me nostalgic. This item even blew away my great memories. If you've never had Steak n Eggs for breakfast this is the place to do it. Steak was cooked well, though a little under seasoned for my taste. The bacon was crispy, the eggs just runny and without an acidic after taste, an the holindaise was delicate and creamy. It's a great place to come again, and bring friends.

A couple of beers the night prior saw the need for a bacon sandwich and boy did this place deliver! There is a good chance it was the best bacon sandwich I’ve ever paid for. There was so much bacon it was spilling out the sides.
I added a hash brown and my mate got egg and cheese… Both were phenomenal.

Consistently good. Chris has kept his prices reasonable and not tried to price gouge like so many other restaurants. Got some good waitstaff on board too, the young lady who served us was made for hospitality. Lucky to have this place as my local. I’ll be back.soon.

Had a great breakfast here, they were very busy but made sure we were well looked after and everyone walked away satisfied!

My favourite place in Canberra to meet family and friends for lunch, or to grab a coffee. The staff are so lovely and the food is delicious

First time here to try it out. The food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. The steak was too chewy. I found the servings too small for a big price tag. No warm welcome or a smile. If I'm going to spend that much, I expect someone to show appreciation for going there.

Coffee is absolutely not consumable. Been there three times over the past year and thrown my coffee out every time (I do have almond milk). Food isn't bad though and staff are friendly.

Nothing like a morning coffee with some gorgeous breakfast. With a Latte in one hand and muffin in the other, my brunch at Rocksalt Hawker was gladly a great start. My coffee was a lovely flavour and well mixed, however i did find the drink hot for a least 30 minutes. A little hiden gem and glade i live close enough to be able to go back. Next visit big breakfast. Totally recommend.

I took Mum out for lunch, menu seems a little bit expensive, the staff are really friendly, the owner is a chef so the food is generally top notch, service is usually pretty quick!

The meals are stable, the service is friendly, and the coffee is good, but the indoor signal is very bad.

Ordered a gluten free meal, however when the meal arrived it had gluten in it. Luckily I asked the waitress to double check with the kitchen to avoid being glutened. The waitress asked me if I wanted the meal remade without gluten, which then came back with a very sad looking meal. Pretty disappointed, as this cafe has previously been very good with catering for those with allergies. When I reported this to the manager, he didn't seem to care or reassure me this wouldn't happen again.

First time customer and was not disappointed. Will definitely be back. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating available.

The usual great service.always attentive but never Intrusive.food was great if not a bit too much for me this visit.

This place is Hawkers best kept secret. The food is great, the servings abundant, service is excellent and the price is good valuie for money.

Walked in to have lunch. Was directed to take a table for 2. My husband and I walked over and found table had been used and food on the seat. We decided to take table for 4 next to it. Waitress said loud enough to be heard from bar. Sure, why not. Take that table. That's a table for 2. Restaurant more then 50% empty. So rude! Decided to walk out. Won't be eating there ever.

My local hang-out cafe and restaurant, with a no-nonsense approach to seating any number for coffee through a full meal. Also, there is a coffee portal window for those not wanting to go inside. A covered area outside is another option, and it's beside the playground.

Chicken burger was over spiced and the manager was rude when my partner couldn't eat it. My partner wasn't well and and manager responded with " Is it the food or that you are not well! " Said he would look into it rather than refund or offer another meal. We were only there because pathology said my partner needed food so veins would show when he returned to
pathology. Will never return.

Great local venue and a nice place for breakfast or lunch. Recommend the fritters or hot cakes. Can get busy at times so allow for that.

Delicious menu. Professional and friendly staff. Lovely casual atmosphere for a Sunday morning brunch!
