Ocean Fresh Seafoods and Cafe reviews
29Just bought 1070gms of “fresh” crystal bay prawns. Tried them and they are floury, water-sodden cr@p! If they aren’t frozen then they are at the very end of their saleable life. Absolute rubbish which they should be ashamed to be selling.
Paid for fresh green prawns, upon getting them home to cook it became obvious they had previously been frozen. Poor quality for over priced seafood.
Decided to have lunch here after quite a long break. Usually not bad, but this time, oily and overcooked. Menu seems to have decreased. And why does everything have to come with chips? Took a while to negotiate what I thought was just one serve of chips between three, but ended up with two serves anyway. When will it be possible to get good fish and chips in Canberra?
I ordered seafood basket. Everything was cold, I asked the men he was very rude to me.very unprofessional.not recommended to anyone.
Got 3 baby burramundi, asked for it to be only cut from the back, got the fish with the heads chopped off and the body opened from the stomch and back. Returned them got replacement fish from them. Then found that the cut is so horrible and the bone in the middle was removed. Disappointed, very disappointed by the quality of the cutting
We have been coming here for lunch for years. We have noticed the seating arrangements have changed to high chairs and high tables. There are now only 2 lower tables with chairs. This doesn't suit people with disabilities and limited movement. I watched a couple with wheelie walkers struggle to get themselves into the high chairs. They had ordered their meal and had decided to wait till another disabled couple finished their lunch at the lower tables. I commented to the person at the counter and he wasn't interested. We were directed to the steel picnic style tables which were uncovered on this miserable cold wet Canberra day.
This seating arrangement is totally unsuitable for people with limited movement.me being one.
I won't be back until this seating arrangement is changed
Last 2 times were food was swimming in oil and a full serve of chips i didnt order and wait patiently outside for 40 mins for my takes away order while people who came in 20 mins after getting there orders call out side recieved it cold
Lots of great seafood to purchase, although their cafe has gotten a bit slack in terms of offerings and quality in recent years. Sometimes they don't understand your order or give you the wrong thing. Waiting times can also be a hit or miss, even if you get the same thing every time.
