Mini Train and Mini Golf Cafe / Yarralumla Play Station reviews
65144 for 2 adults and 2 kids, one Child Very young. No concessions discounts, train is outdated, there's a very small amount of farm animals and walked around the small feeding farm about 3 times in 10 mins and had to wait about 10 mins for every hole of golf. Not a great experience as kids had more fun at the free park across the road afterwards. Food is pricey. Better off going to something else in canberra and saving your money.
Great way to make money during the holidays. Though their sandwiches were pricey it was tasty; at least the one I got.
Extreme over priced and terrible petting zoo. Very few farm animals, Alpacas spat and almost all animals have signs saying animals bite. $50 for a 20m walk and 5 minutes. Unfortunately money not well spent.
A wonderful outing for children. The train ride, animals and mini golf are all first class.
Both my 2 and 1 year old loved the train ride and animals at the farm today. The staff were very friendly, helpful and made sure that we had the best experience.
The food at the Cafe was great. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted good too. We loved the train seat booths and train memorabilia.
I highly recommend this play station to anyone visiting Canberra, both young and old.
The mini golf, whilst functional, is in disrepair and a facelift is required. The kids had fun for two hours whilst we played on both courses. But I remember when the was actually a ‘new parliament house’ not just some rotting timber and bent metal.
A great place to visit with the kids. Probably a little on the pricey side. The entire place needs to be cleaned as it has many piles of rubbish and old building supplies. Edit: Still heavily tired and not well maintained.
Fun for kids but food for the farm animals could be included in the price and the prices overall are a bit much, in my opinion. Even so, kids had fun.
It's a decent spot for a little bit of fun, but it's a bit run down and the drinks (didn't buy food) are stupid expensive.
Over priced. Run down. Train ride is fun for little kids however its not worth the 15 dollar ticket fòr a 5 min train ride. The place could do with a good clean up as there ìs junk all over the place. Farm animals could do with some ģreen grass ìn their enclosures. This place has potential just a shame ìts so run down.
Kids had fun. Interesting and different place.
Love how they use all there resources.
It could do with a bit of a clean up.
Kids love the train ride, which goes past a nice range of animals (you can stop and feed them if you buy the right ticket). A nice little kookily decorated cafe, right across from a terrific shallow water play area that's perfect for kids aged 1 to 5.
Disappointed as we organised our morning around having breakfast, only to be told the kitchen wasn't open this week (based on the amount of people here that was a big mistake). No notice of this on their website or Facebook when I looked before coming and tge menus were outside the entrance! Other options around the area are limited, so we couldn't really leave and come back easily.
Don't rely on the clock for train times, twice now they haven't bothered to keep it updated, the first time it caught me out and I then only had time for a train ride instead of a farm visit as well- that is the only reason I came back, I had tickets for the farm visit I didn't want to waste.
So much potential given their location and activities on offer, but not looked after, old equipment and metal/rubbish everywhere and nothing kept up to date.
Now for the farm animals, others have commented on this, I think the conditions are largely ok, given they are older animals/ones that don't require a lot of space, but it is heartbreaking to see the ducks with a small bucket of water to preen themselves.
Very expensive for an underwhelming experience have been and done but will not return.
Put-Put is pretty good, and the place is a cool concept, but the train and animal petting zoo could do with a big update, just very tired.
Over priced and over rated.
The facilities are old and run down. Rubbish and mess everywhere. The only nice thing is the mini golf, however that's dirty with leaves and mud. They don't seem to do much maintenance.
The condition of the animals is pretty poor. They have a such a large cow stranded in a small bedroom size area, shin deep in mud. Not one dry spot for it to rest or lie down in. This was the case with all the animals really.
For the price they charge, surely you can afford a few bales of straw or saw dust to bed the animals with.
The train and farm animals is a cute little activity for the kids. Watch our for the googly eyed alpaca!
Has potential but not looked after, old equipment and metal everywhere and nothing kept up to date. The animals are in mud pits, yes I know pigs love mud but not in winter up to their stomachs with no dry land, the cow is also in a mud pit with no grass or dry land to keeps its hooves dry and away from rot. Very expensive for an underwhelming experience have been and done but will not return.
Very good family orientated area.excellent facilities and services. A must for every family.
Attended here with my two little ones, 2 and 4 year old. Paid for the train ride and farm visit. Pretty pricey for a place that looks ran down and in need of better attention to gardens and surrounds.
The young bloke driving the train had no social skills whatsoever. Hardly said a word to customers and couldn't even crack a smile. When collecting tickets, just stood there with his hand out. No idea he was staff, no uniform and no enthusiasm.
A very ordinary experience, over priced and not planning on returning anytime soon.
Nice place for kids. Though the Railway is little bit expensive, the farm land visit is very enjoyable.
