La Cantina Restaurant reviews
73 Really good atmosphere, perfect for a first date.
Tasteful food. We tried kitchen and pizza.
Pizza with a good crust and topping, original style.
Kitchen with a good menu and combination.
Good price for quality.
Service can be improved.
I’ll come back.
Fantastic little restaurant with a homely atmosphere, great food good wine at a reasonable price combined with friendly service. 5 star experience
The only word to describe la cantina is perfect and recommended once a month at least, prices $$$, the music is just good, all details are good
Our mains were absolutely delicious - subtle and inventive without being pretentious. Desserts too were really well done, satisfying and tasty without being too sweet. Service was efficient, attentive and friendly and decor and lighting warm and inviting. We’ll be back!
Not bad food, service was surprisingly mediocre.
The whole meal (entree of anti pasta and breads and mains of pasta, pizza and a steak) was realistically a 45 min meal but ended up taking close to 2 hours.
Waited almost 15 mins for service and then were promptly ignored after ordering.would have liked to order another beer and drinks but sadly it was not to be.
This was touted to me as the best Italian food in Canberra, perhaps. Will try once more but compared to other places, a big catch up is required.
If fine Italian food is your favorite then don’t bother with rest in Canberra, head to La Cantina you will not be disappointed!
Hands down the best Italian in Canberra! Tastes just like the food you’d get at Nonna’s house - the Gnocchi is to die for especially paired with the Peppoli red
Hadn't been there for a while. Did not disappoint. Beautiful food and the staff were wonderful. It's worth spoiling yourself once in a while. Perfect Anniversary dinner.
Always a amazing experience at this restaurant. Dined in with table for two and service and food was exceptional. Can’t recommend enough!
This place was absolutely awful! Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star rating. Appalling behaviour and customer service.
Great food and venue, Laura who was our waitress was a superb host and went the extra mile to make out Mum's birthday a bit more special
We dined here for dinner a few weeks ago. Place is nice and cosy. We were a group of four and decided to share our dishes which included a few entrees, few pizzas and some pasta dishes. All dishes were amazing, full of flavour and so fresh. We didn't get to try the dessert, as we were too full, maybe next time! Good value for money!
The food was not good this time round. It was very expensive for food to taste less then what I can make myself at home. I had the sirloin and though it was cooked to perfection my hubby and friends meals weren't good. The lamb shank was poorly cooked and we think the meat itself was poor quality. The seafood pasta tasted and smelled! Like it was canned. On a good note the atmosphere is superb! The waiters are so nice and attentive.
Wonderful! We had the tasting menu for our anniversary and it was such a lovely special atmosphere and so delicious.
Came here on a weeknight for dinner. The restaurant is nicely decorated and themed, with good service to match. The pizza was well made but nothing extraordinary for the price. The pastas were generally tasty and texture was really fluffy soft for the gnocchi. The other pasta dishes were a little bland. The panna cotta was a bit too soft like tofu but taste was good being not too sweet. The rhubarb jam was too sour and the crumble was abit too sweet and texture very grainy. Overall a nice restaurant and definitely one of the better ones in Canberra. The prices were ok.
Back there again for duck ravioli. Excellent! Started with the antipasta, other meals were the squid ink pasta, sausage pasta and the pork cutlet. We did BYO, service, food and atmosphere were excellent.
Always an excellent meal with friendly and prompt service. We have been coming here for several years now and it is our go to Italian restaurant for a quick Friday night out. Be sure to try the focaccia.
Just delicious food and a nice "rustic-Italian" flavoured atmosphere.
We actually felt like we were getting what we paid for for once
Arrived with a booking at 6.30. Food finally arrived at 8.30. The steaks were not medium rare but 'blue'. Waiter was very apologetic and took some of the soft drinks off our bill. The decor and salad was nice but definitely wouldn't go back.
A fantastic restaurant.
I have been several times and it is always good.
We did the degustation with matching wines. The food and service was fantastic
