La Cantina Restaurant reviews
73I have been to La Catina a few times, I love the atmosphere and food. Great customer service.
There is new menu released in recently, and the special dishes are updated by weekly, it’s fantastic taste for me.
We have become semi- regulars here because it's just always such a lovely experience. The food is very, very good; the place has a lovely atmosphere; and the staff are always lovely.
Great food and service. The restaurant's atmosphere was excellent. They actually play Italian music!
Visited La Cantina on Sunday for a friend's birthday dinner.
The ambience inside the restaurant is amazing with great lighting and architecture. The staff are very friendly too.
I would rate the food 3.5/5. The entrees (House special and arancini funghi) were really good.
We ordered three pizzas (margarita, viviana and cantina) and two pastas to share. The pizzas were good, however it was a bit too dry especially the crust.
The pastas were flavourful but a little bit salty.
The desserts (tiramisu, cannoli and pana cotta) were good. The birthday cake was delicious too.
Pizza was just the tiniest bit too oily on top for my taste, but the service, atmosphere, and tiramisu at the end were fantastic!
Fantastic experience. Staff were perfect. Food was superb. The kitchen staff didn't look Italian, but I loved it.
As close to an Italian restaurant one get in Canberra - La Cantina Italian restaurant Narrabubdah. Artwork, brick facades and arches create an ambience reminiscent of Italy. I chose the speciality dish of the night, Pork rigatoni. Cannot go past that one. It should be added to the regular menu. I would highly recommend it to friends and relish in glory hearing their accolades. Three of us shared a garlic and a rosemary pizza as a starter teasinging our tastebuds for more. The recommended chianti proved a perfect accompaniment. Service faultless, prices reasonable. Highly recommend a visit. Make a reservation to ensure a table. It is a popular foodie destination.
Outstanding authentic Italian Restaurant tucked away in Narrabundah. Please don't tell anyone about it. A varied menu with great specials to suit all appetites. BYO and licenced. Parking, during the day, can be a challenge, but this hidden destination restaurant is well worth checking out. Did I mention the squid ink pasta? It is our chosen monthly destination. So good.
Really liked the look of the restaurant. It has an authentic Italian feel to it. We ordered several plates to start and a main each. All the food was delicious. Service was also great. Would definitely visit this restaurant again.
The atmosphere and decor are beautiful. Food was great in general. The let-down was from the young waitress who was not welcoming at all, not a smile, no attention to the customers and quite a bit of unnecessary attitude. Despite having told her on 2 occasions that we will share plates and requested additional plates, she obviously didn't want to please us.which is a pity as she ruined our lunch
Stunning Roman style architecture, great atmosphere and exquisite meals!
Very friendly staff and priced reasonably.:)
I was recommended by a friend and wasn't sure what to expect but it exceeded my expectations. ;)
I will definitely go back for more. Thanks!
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, great date night spot or catching up with close family. Warm and intimate setting.
Wonderful atmosphere, food and wine. Great service, had a lovely date night with hubby, fully recommend! So impressed with the wood fire garlic olive oil bread was delicious. We had the bolognase and gnocchi which again lovwd the flavours. Visiting from Brisbane would go out of my way to eat here again. Thank you to the cooks and staff. A hidden gem.
The best pizza I’ve had in Australia - and I’ve been to a good number of pizza joints.
Not only does this restaurant have a moody relaxing environment with sophisticated brick arches that make you feel underground away from the rat race, but the staff and food top off as a 5/5 star restaurant.
The pizza dough is incredible, with a lovely balance of cheese and ingredients. We ordered a third pizza because it was so good. The pasta is tasty and delightful.
You leave feeling satisfied and wanting to return asap.
It’s a lovely dinner and you won’t regret it
The service at this restaurant was terrible. It took more than an hour to get food on the table. The waiting staff ignored us and we had to call them multiple times. And this was not because they were busy. They were serving others who arrived later than us. A couple who arrived later than us was having dessert when we had our first dish. They also got the order wrong and brought out the wrong dish. We were so hungry we didn't turn it back. It's an expensive restaurant with a nice atmosphere but the service does not live up to its standards. I would not recommend this place to people who want to have a good experience with friends and family. If you go just for the food and don't mind poor service the food is fine.
Excellent ambience, lovely staff sort attentive. Romantic events recommend. Food was great, go the lamb shank. Pictures are of the lamb shank which had a lovely Smokey eggplant, cabbage and carrot underlay education beautifully complimented the dish. Interestingly they allowed us to have that as an entree, and we ordered two pasta dishes as main (yes we did it backwards). The seafood pasta was nice because the seafood was fresh (not fishy) and the gnocchi, well for those that know, its hard and time consuming to make from scratch, was melt in mouth stuff. The paintings and Roman feel walls with white tables just tipped it for a dynamic romantic dinner on a Sunday night. Will visit again
La Cantina catered well for gluten free and other food allergies, and wait-staff were kind and helpful. Delicious food, and beautiful decor - reminiscent of provincial Italian architecture. Highly recommended. Thank you La Cantina.
Very few vegetarian options but the taste was delicious and the ambience was beautiful. Bit pricey but worth spending
