Original review: To expensive for the food you get.

Updated: The owner responsed to my review and blamed the cost of ingredients as the factor to the cost. I just want to make my review more clear, I'm comparing the cost of the food to other places nearby as of now, not the cost of what it would have been a few months or years ago.

What I should have post originally is "The food is to expensive for the same quality of food that you can get nearby for less money". Hopefully that makes it more clear.

We had our breakfast here on Saturday morning and have such an amazing experience. The menu options are wide ranging and it is have unusual combinations to their toasts that actually delicious, fresh and tasty.

We had a nice lunch here on a weekday and I’ll definitely come back to try something else on their menu.

We sat outside and the staff were friendly and attentive (I’ll never take that for granted in Canberra).

The menu looks really good, and had quite a few options I wanted to try. Ultimately I settled on the beef tacos, but unfortunately the meat was super sweet which wasn’t really my thing. I wouldn’t get that particular dish again but I’d definitely try something else. My companion’s truffled eggs looked delicious!

The coffee was good, I had decaf and it still tasted like coffee.

Oh and the Portuguese tarts looked amazing, I was super jealous of my friend who decided to grab one to take away!

I mean, look at the photos. And it tastes like it looks. Very kind people working there to get you a wonderful breakfast. I did feel still a bit hungry after eating one dish, ordered a second, however I soon realized that I just should have given it a few more moments and then it would have been enough The portions admittedly look a bit small but they are in fact plenty. Thanks for the great start of the day.

We came here a little back and had such a good experience. Seated outside on a sunny day in the middle of braddon, we were attended to by lovely welcoming staff.

We ordered the Moroccan spiced chicken tacos to share, and for mains the Gather Smashed Avo, and I built eggs my way - scrambled (they were perfect), with sides of grilled cherry tomatoes and miso mushrooms. Everything was fantastic, and my mate loved the twists on the smashed avo.

Would return to try more as their menu is always changing.

The cafe has a really nice atmosphere with friendly staff. I ordered an oat flat white and it was one of the best coffees I've ever had. I also had their smoked salmon and it tasted fantastic. Unfortunately photos because I dived head first.

Omg, the Gather Green Bowl is the tastiest thing I have eaten in a long time. Well done!:)

I visited Gather Cafe on Father’s Day for a dine in brunch having had a very satisfying breakfast there previously and a few takeaway smoothies. The cafe was fairly busy on Father’s Day and we realised that it affected their service a bit but my family agreed that the food upon its arrival definitely made up for the delay. We had ordered the Tassy Salmon hash brown & the Brekky Quesadilla, both of which were well prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. The Peanut butter & Date me smoothie is a top favourite for me having ordered it on multiple occasions. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to enjoy the French toast as it appeared to be a hot favourite and wasn’t available when we ordered it. We look forward to another meal there in the near future.

Tripping hazards please fix. Heater on the left jutting out and bench on the right also jutting out. Bench sideways will create hazards when people sit on it: their legs will extend to walking area. Heater again blocking pedestrians and wheels tripping hazard

The Environment Day dinner at the Albert Hall recently was wonderful. Well done for catering for so many people at such an awkward location.

There is a reason this Cafe is always packed. The food is incredible. This is the best Cafe in braddon.

Friendly service and really good food. Had the corn fritter and was delicious, just the right balance of flavours and nice portion size.
Clearly busy with staff rushing about, yet still pause for that necessary moment to relax and calmly help customers.
Overall a very nice place for good quality breakfast and relaxing coffee.

Incredible breakfast, hot fresh delicious, can't ask for more. We had the French toast and the breakfast quesdilla, both perfectly done. Would highly recommend and will return without a doubt.

Always great food, good coffee and quick, efficient table service. Wonderful for brunch. (And, not only do they give you a decent amount of jam, it is just so yum, too!)

Incredible breakfast & exceptional coffee!
We enjoyed the rosti stack with shaved truffle & the falafel bowl…both dishes had amazing flavours, complimentary textures & was served by lovely staff with a smile.

Went there today and the girl just didn't want to serve me and I was like why she can be so rude?

The food might be nice but don't order more than a cup of take away coffee in this Cafe- I was waiting and waiting for my two take away coffees and only received the coffees once all the other single coffees were prepared and handed over to the customers who entered the cafe after me.

Also the coffees were room temperature because the cups with brewed coffee were waiting on the table for ages for the barista to pour the milk.

Cold coffee along with a long wait in this winter morning can only get a café a rating of 1 if not less.

Nice place friendly staff, coffee was good. Service was very slow. We waited almost 40 minutes for our meals, yes they were busy but I think the service should be a bit speedier. The girl making the coffee ignored my friend when she went inside to see how much longer our order would be. I will go there again but hope its better just time

The food is genuinely so so good! I love the atmosphere and always try new dishes when I go. Amazing brunch spot:)
