EQ Cafe & Lounge reviews
70We ordered the Lunch Package 2 catering package for 12 which included gourmet sandwiches, fruit skewers and a selection of pastries. When we picked up the food, the order was wrong. The gourmet sandwiches had been switched for rolls with very little filling. The pastries were not included and we had to wait ten minutes while they cut up some pastries for us. Overall a disappointing purchase and one I would not recommend. The only saving grace were the additional canoli we purchased, which were fabulous.
Couldn't wait to come back and enjoy a beautiful breakfast, great coffee and wonderful service. Thankyou EQ. The best!
I used to love this place and had been a regular since I started working in Deakin some 6 years ago. Unfortunately since new owners took over it’s gotten progressively worse with each visit being more unpleasant than the last. Such a shame.
Awful service, here apart of a group of people refused service due to having cash. With a group of clients that got very upset.
Been here a couple of times in last few weeks with big groups. Outstanding food and great service both times. 10/10
We hear their menu is based on fresh seasonal produce and keeps changing which is great.
The bakery is excellent too, we got some breads to take home and all were lovely.
Highly recommended.
Went there for lunch.the food was okay. Not amazing, it was a bit average compared to other places in the area.the coffee was great and tasty. And the service was good and very attentive to making sure that things we done and made sure about covid-19 restrictions.
I'm really disappointed. The lunch menu is boring. I ordered a burger and it wasn't that good. The staff are all walking around with frowns on their faces and are even a bit rude. These are signs to me that something isn't right here.
Great pastries, bread, lunch offerings, salads, great coffees - more of an outdoor place. Parking can be tricky at times. A little local gem!
The Bakehouse is worth a visit but, and I know it's subjective, not thrilled with the coffee in the Cafe & Lounge.
First time here for breakfast (had lunch here many times) and it was a good range on the menu. Had the Salmon stack. Possibly a little more salmon would have gone down well, but what was on the plate was tasty. Also grabbed an ‘energy juice’ and coffee which both hit the mark. Fast service. Tip: on cold mornings avoid sitting near the windows as they are a bit drafty.
Wouldn’t usually leave a review but the service today was so poor. The cafe was pretty quiet when I came to meet my Mum who had already been there sitting for 10 minutes prior and she had not been approached by any of the staff for water or for her order etc. Two staff members saw me sit down with her and we still were not served by anybody perhaps for another 5 mins or so which consisted of us sitting there staring and waiting for the waiters. What was most appalling is that my mum signalled at one of the waiters twice who looked directly at her and walked away to serve other people, clearing one table and taking orders from another table who arrived after us. I signalled for one of the waiters who finally came over and said that they thought we had ordered because there was a number in our pot plant. I fully understand the confusion on that front but two waiters saw us sit down and my mum politely signalled for a waiter twice and was blatantly ignored. There needs to be checks to clear any confusion if waiters have previously left the table number there, it should be pretty obvious when a customer looks like they haven’t ordered. The cherry on top is that the way the situation was handled by the waiter who took our order was not considerate at all and this needs to be better to mediate situations like this so that customers understand the mistake has been recognised and want to return!
Lovely bohemian atmosphere'live music many books, collectable and general issue. Excellent experience.
Another great EQ breakfast at today. The omelettes are really good and the EQ Breakfast with Chorizo in place of Bacon is a good alternative. Consistently good service.
Had a nice breakfast this morning. Great wait staff. Had the scrambled eggs and they were a bit wet to my liking but still really delicious. Nice to have the overhead heating inside-felt warm but not too hot.
Popular cafè and bakery in a Buisness and medical precinct. Interesting looking food and a great outdoor area to sit in during warmer
Weather. Coffee is OK by Canberra standards, if not at the top. Definitely worthwhile if you’re in the area
What a treat! This is the first time we have been here but oh wow we are super impressed! The service is exceptional, the staff were super friendly and warm, and that chocolate and raspberry truffle slice was to die for.highly recommended!
On the pricey side. But certainly generous and high quality meals. Decent cup of coffee. Really lovely staff.
Honest to god this is my favourite place for breakfast.quick, well priced and absolutely delicious.
Highly recommend the homemade porridge and coffee. Also really appreciate the clean, well maintained high chairs.
I went to EQ for a takeaway coffee. Coffee is tasty and quick.
I didn't try their bakery or other foods but it looked well presented and tasty.
