Sombre mood over the half empty restaurant during this virus scare. Jackie and Shirley were the only ones serving customers; doing the right thing by wearing masks and maintaining minimal contact. Customers were also mindful and sitting far apart.

All that said, food is always great at this restaurant. Yummy and satisfying.

An absolute hidden gem! We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to find the place was quite spacious compared to what it looked like on the outside!

We ordered takeaway and there’s a 10% discount for orders over $20.00! Really would recommend for big group outings to couples. We had the satay chicken, Mongolian lamb and fried rice and all were exceptional. Great prices for huge portions and really tasty.

We went back again on the weekend and ordered the BBQ Pork with Plum Sauce alongside a few other things and they were all exceptional. Service wasn't too bad - they unfortunately didn't have any stock of the Red Bean Cake so I can't comment on the desserts yet but consistently great savoury meals.

100% would recommend to anyone after Chinese and Cantonese food. Absolutely suitable for a casual feed or an enjoyable dine in experience (if you can get in with how busy it always is!)

Looking forward to trying their Yum Cha sometime!

Two of the napkins were used and recycled evident by lips Mark. When handed to one of the waitress (owner's sister). She just grabbed it from me without apologising.
I ordered 8 dishes to celebrate my grandsons grandson's birthday, only dish was palatable the Crispy Chili Beef all the dishes were less than ordinary.

Been around in Canberra for years well before the current dumpling trends came into play. One of the first northern style chinese food places in town that I used to enjoy as a kid and still going strong. They do an honest no frills but still delicious yum cha on weekends too.

This was among some of the best Chinese food I've found. Great service and amazing food. Can get very busy but worth it

Excellent tasty Chinese food.flavors, textures, taste are at the top end of the scale every time. Our local Chinese so we've eaten here quite a number of times and very pleased something this good is so close to us. Extensive menu and reasonable prices. It's difficult to recommend something because it's good across the menu.

There's quite a few restaurants hidden away in suburban Canberra like this, a real time warp. I doubt anything has changed here in 40 years, not necessarily a bad thing. Reminds me a lot of Happy's in Civic, very similar menu. Jellyfish? Yep. Deep fried pork intestines? Yep. Standard Aussie style Chinese favourites? Yep.

Good food, but cold. Came near to the end of yum cha kind of disappointing
Very sad that a place called a dumpling inn only has 2 types of dumplings

I thought for a place called dumpling inn there would be great dumplings. There was only pork to choose from and they were very poor quality and very unprofessional done Try the Turkish shop around the corner.

Highly recommend the Yum Cha from Dumpling Inn. The staff are always really friendly, the food is fresh and very tasty. The cheapest dish is $5.50 all the way up to $8.80.

Good selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Beautiful interior and in a quiet part of the shopping complex so plenty of parking right out the front.

I have been twice, both times with my Chinese friend who is very fussy and she loves the place. The food is outstanding. As with yum char you have to be quick to get the really good stuff and what I love about this place is that unlike other yum char places that I have been to is that the majority of the food is good and you want to eat it. The radish cake is really, really good, deep fried chicken wings are outstanding, chicken feet are the best that I have had. I don't like Chinese sweets but this is one of the few places that I eat and enjoy these.

If ever you are hesitant over which Asian restaurant to eat at in Canberra, don’t be too concerned. The Dumpling’s the safest option. Nothing flash about the decor and it’s tucked away in Macquarie but the food is outstanding

Great food. Best Yum Cha in Canberra! Better attention for the trolleys if you’re in a group and not so much attention if you come by yourself. I think it’s the yum cha culture that food is to be shared rather than dined.

Terrible if you are dumplings lover or vegetarians. Over priced bad food with attitudes from the owner to match.

Dependable and economical Chinese restaurant which serves awesome dumplings, seafood and soup. It has loyal customers from all over Canberra and is licensed and BYO.

Usually pretty good however today we were sat near the windy door that kept blowing stuff all over us when the door opened, and food took forever to reach us. We may have been forgotten down the end. A smart restaurant will start some trolley's from the rear to avoid this. Was absolutely busy today however.

We have been dining at Dumpling Inn for many years. All food are good and at reasonable price. Peking duck is our favorite dish.
