Caph's Restaurant & Bar

A lively lunchtime spot, which is when we visited. Fast and friendly service with a reasonable range of dining options. Our meals were nicely done.

I love this place! The chicken Kiev is to die for! The steak with garlic cream sauce is also a favourite. I have been going here for about 15 years and have never had bad service or food.

Dropped in for a quick coffee but couldn't resist the selection of cakes. Good quick service

This is a review of the staff - and one particular waitress and her attitude and lack of service - rather than the restaurant in general. I've been coming to Caphs for nearly 30 years. I have my favourite dish (Risotto Con Pollo) and they always have a good wine selection. Caphs is always my stand by when I can't decide where to go because the food - and, in the past, the service - have been consistently good. Today not so much. Unfortunately we got the waitress with the blond (ish) ponytail who was more interested in talking to the boys at the bar (the guy with the baseball cap really grabbed her attention) than actually providing good, friendly service for paying customers. She dropped my risotto on the table and went to dash off (back to the boys) and I had to stop her to ask for parmesan. She went back inside to the far more interesting conversation at the bar, where I watched her chatting for the next few minutes. She finally came outside to reset a table, saw me and suddenly remembered the parmesan I'd asked for. My husband had finished half his lunch and my risotto was going cold. She went back inside, chatted some more with baseball cap until I went inside myself to ask for the parmesan grater. This was followed by my having to go in 10 minutes later to ask for another glass of wine while she, again, continued to chat at the bar. She delivered the wine with an attitude filled "your wine" and put it down with some vigour on our table If this is the level of service that Caphs is now offering I expect that my regular visits will be a lot less regular in the future. Shame (I will say the other waitress and the waiter with the beard were lovely and good at their jobs)

Went in on a whim, so glad we did! Excellent service and food, highly recommend everyone try this place, you won't be disappointed!

Good value food and a menu that everyone can find some that they will like. Plus the staff are always cheerful

Very tasty grilled chicken burger, that I could customise to taste, in a nice environment. I felt it was value for money. Speedy friendly service. They let me chill here working away on my laptop for a few hours, even using their power! And not continually trying to sell me more food/drink, yet did check in with me occasionally so I didn't feel forgotten. A great experience all round. Thanks.

The African American waitress was very rude and didn't don't think she knows how to smile and maybe need to be re-educated in the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Very nice waffle & icecream. However, the place rather noisy. We had to ask them to turn the music down; totally unnecessary & invasive with so many people in the cafe.

Awesome steak open sandwich. Nice staff. However the place is really dated and the music was blaring. Probably to keep the staff amused because the place was fairly empty.

I really enjoyed my vegetarian pasta!:) very tasty. Also my friend ordered vegetarian lasagne which was very yummy as well.

Delicious pasta, easy use of entertainment voucher, friendly waiters who bought extra plates so we could share meals. The night we went it was all male staff who all had beards so it must be cool!

I use to go to Caphs regularly but over the years the service has dropped off and the food is pretty average.

If we end up there for whatever reason, we avoid the fish altogether as the past 3 times we've ordered it we've had old, or possibly frozen fish and the batter has been lousy.

Staff seem to just float and don't seem happy to be there and the coffee has been hit and miss at best.

Good and tasty food. Flexible with changes requests to the dishes. Kids liked all their and each other's dishes and they are picky with food. Service was excellent.

We've dined here several times. Our son is a really picky eater but loves their food. The staff are really friendly, happy and they've made our experience eating out, fun and relaxed everytime. I highly recommend Caph's to everyone

The staff were lovely, but they can not make a coffee.
The food is uninspired and really average in quality and presentation. I definitely wouldn't come back. Although the staff are very helpful and friendly.
