Caph's Restaurant & Bar reviews
57We were visiting Canberra from Sydney and found this place and had a yummy dinner and then breakfast the following day. Great food, comprehensive menu and excellent service.
Great toasted ham, cheese, tomato, avocado toastie, fresh filling and lots of it great fresh crisp chippies served from friendly happy helpful staff. Great place for a quick bite and drink after work watching the passing people in manuka.
Always extremely good as evidenced by the crowd on a Wednesday night. Good staff, good simple food without pretension. Excellent.
Food excellent and service also excellent!
However one unruly customer was allowed to behave in a manner which upset some customers and ruined their dining experience! He was obviously high on something and was playing music on his phone and dancing around the floor. This went on for about an hour and the junior staff did not intervene. Everyone was greatly relieved when he decided to leave.
Message to the owner you need a senior person on site when your not around who will ask unruly customers to behave or leave!
Excellent menu. Food was delicious. Highly recommend the duck risotto. Happy and friendly staff.
We ordered steak, burgers, fettuccine and drinks
very good quality of food and drinks.highly recommended
only improvement I can suggest is that the tables were not so stable outside would be good to fix them firm to the ground
Front of house was such a disappointment, over 35 minutes for a takeaway burger that I would happily have waited for if Gen Y boy at the front of house Elijah was not so rude!
On the upside, money back and got a Bellucis pasta dish in 7 minutes.
Sad, as an icon succumbs to poor customer service.
I was told by Elijah to never come back, Elijah I will return when you are sacked.
Had Caphs haloumi special for brunch today, always a delight and lovely hot coffee on a cold and wet winter day
Been going to Caphs for nearly 40 years and never had a bad meal or experience.
Was there for lunch today, delicious and quick and hot and yummy.
10/10 for me.
Well done and thank you to all the lovely and professional Staff.
Better options nearby.
I remember the thought of going to Caphs when I was younger to be exciting. Apparently these days something has gone very wrong. Today's lunch was easily some of the most flavorless and bland food I have ever eaten. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and the pasta sauce was not even cooked into the mince but instead pored on top, the pasta itself was bland and as I later found there was a large pool of water at the bottom of the pasta bowl suggesting that the meal had been frozen and the pool at the bottom was condensation. My mate was also very unimpressed with his mushroom pie which was also bland and tasteless. For the amount we paid, one would expect far more quality then what we got. Such a shame that a place that I once enjoyed coming to now serves such garbage.
Convenient and pleasant family style restaurant. Reasonably priced menu with all the popular dishes you would expect including gluten free and low carb options for those having to watch their diets, served quickly by capable and engaged staff.
Quick to serve a drink. But then went missing in action 45 minutes to get asked if we'd like to order, (their family members sitting at restaurant more important) we went to Thai cornar around corner best meal I've had in Canberra. Glad they didn't serve us in an appropriate time.
Delicious and well priced food. Used to go here regularly with my girlfriend on weekend dates and it's a beautiful and cozy space with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting in Spring/Summer and sitting outside.
Great classic cafe in the center of the food district.
Coffee and cakes.
Has toilets and they are well maintained
Coffee is very impressive.
Close to transport.
Close to the cinema.
Close to sporting events
Close to the shops

Great food as per usual, but last night there was some on going crudity coming from one male waiter to the waitress. Rude comments from the male waiter distracted me from enjoying my delicious meal.
Love Caphs, it's just consistently good. This is our place of choice when we're in Manuka. Try the honey chilli prawns!
There are generally no surprises when we go to Caphs. We know the menu pretty well and when we want a well presented Cafe dinner then Caphs is one of our "Go to" places. Service is always quick and meals are also turned out pretty quickly.
Went for breakfast, this place is cosy, food is so so but their price is slightly cheaper than next door. Coffee however was bad, pretty sure they either reuse or burnt the milk. Barista doesnt seem to know how to make good coffee.
Friendly, helpful staff, able to get food out to my group of twelve in good time
Excellent food in a relaxed environment
Used to be the go to place in Manuka. Things haven't changed much since then, which could be good or could be bad. I love the interior decor, but it's much nicer to sit outside in the protected area. We only popped in for a coffee, so can't really comment, but everything was good!
