Zephyr Cafe reviews
71 Food was petrol station quality
The coffee was ok
The price seems quite high but justified by the location
We waited 25 minutes for our coffee
Going anywhere on a holiday period is a challenge, but you need to be prepared for it.
If you're going to charge extra because it's a public holiday, at least make the service and food better. Waited ages to get our food, and I think I will just stop there.
Views were nice, at least.
It's a great location however it's gone down hill of late! Went for breakfast and the food was very poor, no presentation and not very well cooked. The competition around is very fierce, so you need to lift your game and put something alternative on your menu and make it more appealing. Won't be going back for breakfast.
The view is worth it that's all
Beautiful cafe with a view to the river, great food and coffee, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
We have been breakfasting monthly with neighbours for over 16 years here.
Owners Larry and family created Zephyr Cafe out of a tiny fry-up called Leeuwin Chew-In, and it has never looked back. Today their son was duty manager!
We know it’s that long, as today one neighbour produced a commemorative photo in memory of another no longer with us. The baby in the pic is now 14, and we’d been meeting for years by then! Pic attached for fun.
Rude management, poor service, overpriced meals, burnt coffees. Don’t think they know what they’re doing to be honest. Only thing keeping them going is the location.
Not sure if it's the owner or manager, whoever it was, he would be the rudest person, in the hospitability industry, I have ever met!
The tranquillity of the views. The birds tweeting their song in the background.
The found was well presented and tasty too.
Did not like this place at all. Asked to sub scrambled eggs instead of poached eggs and was looked at like I was crazy. Apparently that was a big deal. Generally overpriced and with very inexperienced servers. Will not go back despite the nice location.
Nice spot, coffees just ok, foods overpriced and small serves.
Looks like a covid clinic at the moment with excessive covid signage inside and around which is a bit silly.
You disgusting pathetic excuse for a so called "man" You are lucky I was on the other side of the country when you degraded and utterly embarrassed my wife for not wearing a mask even though she has a legitimate signed and stamped official document proving exemption. Perth has no place for people like you, and I bet your food is as vile and disgusting as the way you treat women.
Absolutely appalling ‘customer service’.
My Family will never return here after witnessing a customer being yelled at.
So much for supporting a small local business.
Just got denied entry to location as my father was visiting from Canada and despite the literature on government websites indicating his international vaccination document is acceptable for proof of vaccine, when provided with ID, manager ‘fletcher’ denied entry. He was unapproachable and when I told him he was incorrectly informed that only Medicare issued passports were to be accepted, and attempted to show him the government link indicating the actual mandatory requirements he told me ‘to leave, you are being rude’. Well Fletch, for your educational opportunity please visit the WA website (which I previously posted, but resulted in my review being removed for including a URL, I suspect).
Won’t be back, and didn’t appreciate the prejudicial treatment of international guests. Apparently you, Fletcher, have a personal issue with Canadians, and I think you should be educated on keeping your personal prejudices out of the workplace.
Witnessed the female business owner berating her staff while I was waiting to order at the counter. After a 20min wait was served cold coffee. Food is fine but $8 for an extra poached egg- insanity
The staff was friendly. I had the ham, egg, & cheese sandwich and it was good for being a prepped take-away meal. I look forward to going back for dine-in.
Absolutely disgraceful treatment to people who do not need to wear a muzzle in your shop! Your should be hiding your head in shame! I would have slapped you right across your mouth if you had of yelled at me the way you yelled at this poor person! She is a legend for spreading the word! Many more bad reviews on their way I am sure of that!
Now this is a great place. The location right on the river is just awesome and the food & service is as well.
Used to be a go to, but now very unfriendly staff and the vibe has changed totally unfortunately. I'd recommend "Cool Beans" just around the corner for coffee instead
I love the location, hence the 4 stars. Food was ok, nothing to rave about but meals are very pricey. The staff were lovely. Did I mention the location - 5 stars just for that.
The owners were very rude to both me and my friends and I will never return to this cafe again. There are too many good cafes around to waste my money on bad experiences!: (
