Yardie Creek campground reviews
16Great campground to stay at if you want to cross Yardie Creek at low tide and take the off-road tracks through to Coral Bay. Toilet facilities only (long drop) no showers and you need to bring your own water. Make sure you book in advance!
Camp sites are reasonably small. Would not recommend for tents as ground is concrete under the soft sand. Has one drop toilet. No showers or water on site bring your own. Also can get very windy as it's right on the beach. Close to the Yardie creek walk trial and incredible views of the milky way.
Another great campground along the Ningaloo Coast (not as popular as the campgrounds further north, but still a great base). Toilets available. Coming from the north, it is a completely sealed road. If you come from the south, expect a heavily corrugated trip (it's an adventure, that's for sure haha). Yardie Creek also has some semi-soft sand so a 4WD is recommended (and lower tire pressure if you think you'll get bogged).
We didn’t stay overnight but I would love to in the future with the remoteness, beach access and of course the gorge.

Good campground with amazing views. It has the ocean and a creek!
The camp hosts are super friendly and the vibe in the area is nice.
This is a lovely campsite at the end of Cape Range, but although there were lots of empty sites at 4pm, they wouldn’t let me stay as I hadn’t booked online. They said all the sites were booked, but I know from travelling around the campsites, it may say fully booked online, but half of them don’t turn up. People book sites for $11 pp per night and then just don’t show. But there is absolutely no flexibility if you turn up and ask to pay for a site. The ‘host’ (yet to meet a friendly one) eventually agreed to call the office after telling me I had to drive 20 km back up there to talk to the woman, and she said they’re all booked even tho we’re standing there looking at empty sites. Considering you’re travelling around the outback with no signal most of the time, it’s a very unfriendly system
Thought it would be third time lucky but instead I’m third time disappointed. I travel up north every year and Yardie always disappoints.
Powered sites where you have to bring an extension cord over 50 metres in length to reach your site.
Drinking water which is cloudy and undrinkable.
A fridge that isn’t even cold enough to stop cheese from sweating.
No fuel.
Toilets full of critters.
Really disappointing but hope they take time to upgrade their facilities. $44 per night for not even the basic needs is very steep and unacceptable.
This place is amazing very quiet out of the wind only a handful of sites. Close to Hardie creek to fish or walk the creek. Beach access toilets and a dump point at you disposal
Wouldn't recommend for a roof top tent as it can be very windy, but has good facilities and lots to explore.
Nice campground close to the beach with toilet and bit of shade. No snorkeling but good fishing. Number 4 has sea view
Yep. It's been a few years since I camped here. About 40 to be precise.
Used to camp here when I was stationed at the Navy Base.
Had some delightful times.
Rugged and raw. Just as I liked it.
Those were the days!
The photo is from YARDIE CREEK HOMESTEAD, At Yardie Creek campground inside the park there are no facilities such as kitchen or other things as you can see in the photos. Misleading. Amazing campsite though very basic and great location. Take down the wrong pictures pls.
Awesome camping ground.everyone gets a little section where you can park or van or pop up your tent.it's right next to the beach so make sure to watch the sunset and or sunrise.you can get your camping permit for this camping ground in the visitor centre (or online I think) so make sure to get that in advance, as the spaces are numbered.when I visit the national Park again I will for sure spend the nights here again.
Yardie Creek Camp – Bill & Hazel - the camp hosts – volunteers for the National Parks Service, - touched base with them to see if anyone had not turned up and if there was a space available. They were able to accommodate us which was a fantastic result and just goes to show that “if you don’t ask you don’t get”! They told us to jump into spot 1, pay at the Milyering Centre tomorrow – just $11 each and then join them from 5pm for happy hour, which we were happy to do – gin o’clock time it was. So that saw us sitting down until the stars came out in a glorious sky with Bill, Hazel and some other people there called Peter, Marlene and Brad – what a lovely evening and it was tipped off by us having supper and Bill bringing across some Blue Trevally fish, freshly caught, battered and cooked – oh it was just lush. And so to sleep with the back blind up so we could see the stars and the sea. We would so go back there again when next in Australia.
Great secluded spot to camp! Being so far away from Exmouth (about an hour drive) there’s no light pollution so you can see a lot of the Milky Way. The site is right next to the beach and short walk to Yardie Creek, the gorge and rock wallabies. There’s no running water on site so make sure to bring plenty with you. We also heard it’s important to book in advance as this is a popular spot
