2 Yeah same here a few year's ago, i copped $27k fine because i didn't have a policy in place at the time.
Was told 1st time offender i will get a warning if i complied. Well few months after i complied bam have $27k fine.
I notice if you don't give them wages paid etc you might get a few hundred dollars fine.
There was no claim against me a w.comp officer walked onto my job site.
P.s. Fine had to be paid within 2 year's no negotiation.
Bunch of wankers
Received a rather rude letter from these people saying my workers comp expired for 5 months. Threatened I would get fined and go to court if I didn't complete the form bombarding me with questions how many employees, how much paid between this and that date. Silly me filled out the form sent it back and next thing you know I cop a fine based purely on what I told them. I wish I hadnt' filled out their form. My advice is if you get 1 of these letters than get legal advice.
