Woodvale Park Medical Centre

Very disorganised reception. Today i was waiting on the phone for 20 minutes.
Every time Asking receptionist about test results, either they say haven’t received it or can’t find it in the system. But the doctors are good. Very disappointing medical centre.

Difficult to give an overall rating for this one.

On the one hand, the medical receptionists are dreadful. Some of the rudest receptionists I've ever dealt with. Haughty, condescending, arrogant, and extremely rude. For example, if you ring to pass on a message for your GP and request that he call you back (when he's free) it's like you've committed some crime. Or, if you ring up on short notice with an illness that needs to be seen ASAP, they'll tell you (in the rudest tone of voice possible) to get lost because they're all booked out for the week.

But the GPs themselves are extremely professional and very good at what they do.

Got left waiting over an hour think I was forgotten about while I watched people just walk in and out with in minutes of arriving for their appointment

Very happy with my family’s experiences at this practice. The two doctors we have seen recently have been excellent, caring and professional in every way.

Been a patient here for 30 years. Rang to see if I could get an appointment for leg infection. Told none that afternoon or the next day!
Time to look for another medical practice.

Ive been seeing Dr Watson for about 15 years, since I was 18. Such a professional, there are very few other people on earth I trust with medical advice/procedures.
Oh and my Wife absolutely raves about Dr Ossolinski too, she is brilliant with maternal related advice etc.

Have a 920 appointment and Dr Sturdy is running an hour late. No communication etc.it’s ridicules the lack of respect for his patients.

Every visit is met with a great reception team and extremely thorough Doctors, Wait times are minimal and I always leave feeling reassured I have received the best possible care. Would highly recommend!

I seen Dr Tham and other doctors at the surgery few times, Lovely doctors very thorough and efficient.they actually cares. Doctors at Woodvale Park Medical Centre listens to your issues doesn't rush you. Reception staff is very friendly and efficient from the time I walked into the surgery I was welcome by the girls at front desk. I happy to recommend Woodvale Park Medical Centre:)

Have been going to this practice for 20 years even after moving half an hour away the reception staff are always helpful and happy and you can feel comfortable going to any of the doctors.

I have been attending this practice for over 10 years now. Dr Tham and the other doctors are fantastic. No matter who I see, they take the time to listen and show they care. Dr Tham in particular is very thorough, efficient, caring, and makes sure I don't leave until she has addressed all of my concerns. I won't go anywhere else.

Beware.

One of the Doctors is VERY (selectively) hard of hearing and as a result an absolute nightmare of a human to deal with.

I usually see a different surgery. But My regular doctor was off. I needed a referal for radiology. So simple. So easy. But I work very hard and as it took me months to organise time off to see radiology id lost my referal. My bad I'll admit.

Was told by the receptionist there (my regular surgery) that there was not time to get appt there before my leave ran out. So went here.

I had my doctors file and notes sent by my surgery, but was told due to the size, it would have to be posted via snail mail on a usb.

It had not arrived yet.

My MRI had arrived via email as it was small enough to email.

That seemed simple enough a scenario. I thought so. Annoying but simple.

But I must have been wrong. Because As soon as i walked in the Dr asked me why I was here. So I explained (as above). He told me i should have booked at my regular surgery.

I again explained why I was with him (as above) and why my results and files were sent there.

He cut me off.told me only my MRI Had been sent, that he was a physician, asked me if i thought i knew better than he, and told me I should have booked back there, at my old surgery.

I explained.again.the time constraints and explained that no it had been sent. Just hadnt arrived yet because it was sent by mail. I asked if he would like me to call the other surgery and confirm these details with him. He refused.

He then told me.again.that my results weren't sent. And that i should have.well you get the idea

I took a deep breath. Tried a third time to explain that yes.they.were, they just havent- at which point he cut me off and raised an open hand to my face, saying as condescendingly as possible

"I JUST told you they HAVENT been sent. "

He then told me I had a long term condition and he didnt want to treat me.

I explained.that he didnt have to long term. My doctor was away. I just needed a referal in the meantime.

While my condition was very painful, It wasnt a prescription for drugs or anything of the sort, it was radiology. (Only saying this because thats honestly what youd thought id asked him for given the reaction).

At which point he told me he would call the police.

Ill admit. I did not call him the nicest word upon departure my bad again there.but to tell you the truth.

. Im not sure he heard me anyway ;)

EDIT: Sorry, just had to add that the receptionists who work at Woodvale Park Medical and assisted with all the transferring and whatnot are absolute angels. They were extremely helpful. Please do not take this negative review in any way as a reflection of the Woodvale Park administration team.

After waiting for 45 minutes (past appointment time) - Asked reception to cancel appointment, and she answered ýep, whats ya name? " and then 'done. ' NO apologies or excuses / customer service.

Great friendly local service I have been attending the practice for 13 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else, staff are always willing to assist and very friendly, doctors will always do the best they can for your health and well-being.

Worst medical centre. Dr Sturdy made me feel stupid for trying to get help with mental health issues after waiting an extra 30 minutes for my appointment because he was late. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

First off, this review is not about the Dr. Dr Nguyen was amazing. This review is for the reception staff. They are without a doubt, the most hopeless medical reception staff we’ve ever encountered. First they don’t process my sons paperwork twice making the appt run late, but then after that appt, my wife makes a follow up appt with the staff, only to turn up & there be no appt. If this wasn’t don’t face to face & straight into the phone then maybe she could have gotten it wrong, but in this case she most definitely did not make a mistake. They also never processed the Medicare rebate after a week. It’s very disappointing that such a great doctor has such an incompetent reception staff. No apology for any of it either.

Stressful Truma, Situation whilst your Waiting their is Television and Reading Material, Dr's treat you like a

Seen (Mr Dr Chow Luewin), for the First Time Ever, and was Very Impressed with His Professional Manner, I highly Appreciate and Thank Dr Chow Luewin for His Professional Care and Time and Understanding of my Required Medical Assistance.
All Reception Staffing, and General Practitioners, Treatment Nurse's, Well Down for your Outstanding Front Line Care, During this Awful Covidien 19 Pandemic and flu Season, A Huge Round of Appriciated Appluse, Hip, Hip, Hooray, Woodvale Park Medical Centre, Woodvale? You all Deserve an Award and Acknowledge.

Dr Flynn performed my vasectomy. No pain during, no pain after (didn't even need pain killers, just an ice pack). Would recommend talking with him if you are considering getting the snip.

Front of house staff are friendly and efficient. Wait times are minimal, and the procedure I had was comfortable and each step was explained during the procedure. I was thoroughly pleased with the entire experience including the effort taken to save me time as I travelled some distance to attend, I was provided supplies in advance so I wouldn’t need to make another appointment just to collect. Highly recommend.
