Woodlands Family Practice reviews
15My wife called to chat with a GP today. The Practitioner did not issue the correct script with the correct quantities and then when my wife called back, she was met with a very rude receptionist (apparently looking at other reviews, this is not a first), who challenged her when she asked for another script with the correct quantities. Very few problems in the past being a family practice, have been going there for many years, and getting the correct quantities irrespective of the practitioner with her records on their files. This time she was told she would have to pay full price to get the correct quantity on another script. The doctor makes a mistake and then they require their patients to pay again and hold the correct prescription and quantities to ransom……pretty appalling professionalism and courtesy.
Very happy with my GP but they DESPERATELY need to get the online booking platform sorted out or use Hot Doc or Health Engine. Sometimes I have just not been able to get through on the phone
Have been attending the clinic via calls during covid. The last few in person visits doctors/appointments have been consistently late. Today I arrived an hour early and made myself known to staff for my 1245 appointment. At 1.15pm the doctor called another patient in. Suffice to say I walked up to the counter to ask what was going on and they could only offer apologies. My appointment 2 days prior was also similarly late.
It would have been nice for reception to at least inform me of the delay.
I understand that the typical clientele of 70+ aged woodlands residents may be OK with lateness, but this is not endearing to people such as myself who work and have responsibilities
As such myself and my family will be finding a new clinic for this consistently bad service.
Every appointment over 80minutes waiting with my 93 year old mother in law. This makes seeing the doctor a very distressing experience.
Usually great, but stay away from Dr. Nigel Jones! Do yourself a favor and just ask for another doctor. My son was feeling ill with vomiting and a little fever. His diagnosis, without even looking at him and literally on the street, as we were not given access to the practice, was. COVID. He ended up sending us to the hospital, where after almost 3h waiting they said it may be gastro, it definitely could have been treated from the GP and they actually apologise on his behalf for the lousy diagnosis. I wish THE BEST for you Dr Nigel. THE BEST!

Great to see some new doctors at WFP who are keen, thorough, nice and good communicators.
Poor receptionists that are shrewd and sometimes don't even know what they're doing. Once spent 15 minutes with an older female receptionist condescendingly fiddling around not knowing how to do a Medicare rebate.
During 2020 I had a massive amount of visible pus on my tonsils but a doctor, over phone consultation, told me to call back in a few days to see how much worse it got as I might have covid and to go get tested.
(Covid cases in Perth were at about 2)
That's the most sick I've ever been thanks to him
I genuinely begged and he ignored me
This was also before drive in clinics so I had to wait about 5 days to get tested, during which I suffered immensely, and if I was a small child or elderly person may have needed hospital treatment thanks to his actions.
I've had tonsillitis twice since, once earlier this year, and again right now. No matter what I have to get a PCR test as negative rats are irrelevant apparently, and even then I might not get antibiotics, which generally just leaves me to tough it out, as I don't know if I'm going to walk out of here $50 drier or with what I need.
Before the pandemic this place was fine, seems like every doctor and every receptionist suddenly lost their mind and have a power tripping fantasy now
The Dr's here are very professional and helpful and give you advice about your treatment without all the gobbledygook you sometimes get at other practices. You can't go wrong with the Dr's here.
Can you please update your online booking system so it remembers you as a returning customer? Doctors are all good but receptionists need serious training about customer service!
Won't take appointments after 4.45pm on a work day and does not take new clients on a Saturday. Offers no late appointments.
Was looking for a GP for my infant daughter, and have been pleased with my choice so far. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. By GP standards, did not have to wait that long for my appointment either.
I called this morning to try and become a new patient, and to book an appointment as I have tonsillitis (I think.but I need to see a doctor.) Reception was incredibly rude and literally hung up on me. So disappointed, they must not need the business / don’t want any new patients. What a shame.
Dr Powell is a very kind and caring woman, very insightful and gentle. The practice is the best I have ever been to included in the practice are other doctors I have seen and they are just amazing and wonderful, I highly recommend this practice, I have been going here for 36 yrs or so
The nurse and ladies on reception have been so very helpful and responsive. The doctor was also very thorough.
Dr mcnulty cares for my medications and anything else as I was, in palliative care at some stage. At 30 years old i was diagnosed with anapalastic astrocytoma stage 3 brain cancer. She helps me with all my problems, is easy to talk to and kind. I also, feel respect for me as her patient.
She is a straight forward, an extremely knowledgable paliative care general practitioner who is overqualified, I believe, for her position which she actively pursues with passion, so I think, "what an absolutely amazingly intelligent woman at the peak of her profession".
