Willagee Fish & Chips reviews
27Probably oil needs change more, batter used to b nicer, prawns got way smaller, used to love there battered prawns don't buy much for me, but for older friend, people r lovely
The prices are high and the serving sizes are low. Overall, for a basic staple meal it was overpriced.
Something fishy going in with the other reviews I reckon. The shark was like rubber the chips were overcooked and the whole lot tasted like it was cooked in oil 12 months old. The Snapper wasnt snapper either. The old guy who runs it is very friendy the shop is old and run down.
To start, I’m reviewing service, not food. I haven’t eaten here. I called and asked if it was possible to order soft chips not crispy chips and the guy got very annoyed and asked how I wanted them, medium cooked, hard cooked to which I became confused (because that sounds like how I order eggs, not chips) then when I tried to understand what medium cooked or hard cooked meant, he became increasingly agitated and rude and eventually hung up on me.
I have rarely had someone speak to me like that, usually it was when I was a waiter and a customer spoke to me rudely, certainly not when I was the customer. This guy spoke to me like I was stupid just for asking for soft chips.
For reference, when I asked for soft chips at Bicton Fish and Grill they immediately said that’s no problem at all.
Lovely light batter on really good flaky Hake. The chips are long, chunky, crunchy, and fluffy on the inside. Pineapple fritters were tasty, and $1.70 tub of gravy was a generous portion! Perfect.
Great value for money, and only a short wait even though they were slammed with orders during rush hour. This is my new go-to in the area.

Lovely Fish and Chips good size piece’s of Fish with Chips for $12.00 do yourself a favour and try them out
Fish and chips generous size and crispy and not greasy.
Service quick
This was a first time ordering and will be switching to willagee fish and chips from now on
Lovely fish, good serve of chips and friendly, reliable service. Busy, so good to order ahead at lunchtimes.
As far as suburban fish & chips stores go this one in Willagee is pretty low key and keeps the menu simple, but for these reasons they manage to be the most reasonably priced food venue I have yet to find in all of Perth. I get a very decent fish burger from here for $6 and other stores are asking $16.90. Perth is extremely overpriced for some reason I shall never understand. It's criminal what prices people pay in this average little town so when I find a place with old fashioned prices I tend to patronise it a lot. I am a regular customer here because the pricing is so realistic.
They werent familiar with under done but i said to em half cook everything for me so they did it come out perfect good prices also will definitely be back
I went to buy chips as a snack for my child, and I was very satisfied with how much it was and why it tasted so good.
Delicous F&C. They have crunchy thin layer on top of their batter fish.
I do not need lots of chicken salt or sauce as it tasty by itself. One of the best F & C in Perth and friendly customer service
Every Wednesday I order fish and chips for my parents. They love it. The owner's are very efficient and friendly.
Sad to say that my experience was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Stale seafood, over cooked in a horrible batter, in burnt oil.
Great prices, the chips are excellent, t service is friendly and my order is always ready before I get there to pick it up.
Tried fish and chips here twice now on a friends recommendation and both times been very impressed with the value and the quality.
Takes me back 50 years or more when I was a kid and got good quality chips that tasted like real potato and fish that was thick with a crispy batter.
So much better than the thin slices of fish in sloppy batter that is served up in so many fish shops with chips that just don't make the grade.
I have five fish and chip shops closer to home in Hamilton Hill but have found it is worth the drive to Willagee to get a good feed.
Fish and chips are good for a suburban place but the wait times is always ridiculous! Whatever time they tell you add at least 15 minutes before you pick up to collect! Portions size could be better.
Good fish for the price, great deals like the $9.50 mini combo good rotating $2.00 specials like 2x dim sims, 3 potato scallops or two pineapple fritters. Parking gets a bit busy but theres alot more at the rear of the store lovely owners, so friendly and prompt.
Grilled fish and chips was excellent. Generous serving of fish with tasty seasoning. Highly recommended. Must try out.
This place serves delicious traditional fish and chips. The batter was super crispy and the fish good quality. The chips were perfect to me. Crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the centre.
I had a large fish and chips which was delicious. Seasoned really well with salt and vinegar which other shops rarely do.
My companion had a seafood basket which was a huge serving. The squid tender. The prawns were delicious. Everything again was well seasoned. Good menu options including homemade spring rolls. Very reasonably priced.
The service was very friendly and efficient. I will be back to try more menu options like the crumbed sausages.
