Unfortunately we couldn't get a van from another provider, which is why we had to use Wicked Campers. The existing, bad reviews describe the location quite well. The deposit will only be returned upon request. The cleanliness of the van is pathetic. Ash, cigarette butts and dirt everywhere. The "mattress" is an old gym mat. You definitely don't want to shine through UV light here. The equipment is a disgrace. Only the cheapest utensils that don't work. Neither curtains nor mosquito nets. Incidentally, this was the first camping company that didn't provide bed linen, which was probably a good thing given the rest of the hygiene in the van. The company cited Covid 19 as justification for this, which amounts to a mockery given the disgusting nature of the van. The only positive thing is that the 30-year-old van managed 7,000 km, which was surprising given the poor maintenance. The van had no power and a maximum of 45 kmh was possible uphill and the interior smelled of exhaust fumes. By the way, a 40 liter tank in Australia isn't exactly helpful considering the long distances. I definitely don't want a Wicked Camper Van to break down because I'm sure I won't get any proper help. This was particularly evident in the delivery of the van. Although a time had been agreed upon, no one was at the completely neglected return station. When we dialed the phone number at the door, the gentleman didn't feel responsible and referred us to the homepage. Finally we just left the key on site because after an hour no one came.

In summary, for me Wicked Camper is only an option if no other is available, especially since the prices are not significantly lower than other providers. In any case, you have to be aware that no service or comfort or cleanliness can be expected. Overall, a terrible company.

Had a wonderful experience with the van we hired for 2 weeks.

From start to finish Amanda from the Perth depot helped us get everything sorted out super simple and easy over the phone weeks before our planned trip down south of WA.

We had everything we needed in our van and were able to comfortably travel.

For my first time hiring a van I was quite worried initially of any costs I might not think of but everything went smoothly thanks to Amanda's great customer service. We will be using again if we come back for sure.

Don’t even bother hiring a wicked camper van. Very old and outdated van with the absolute bare minimum. My van didn’t have curtains and the mattress situation is a couple of gym mats scattered on some ply wood.

Use campify if you are looking for a decent camper van experience. Waste of $1100 for a week

We had the mystery machine for a weekend away. It got us to where we wanted to be and we stayed dry. Yes they are old and very basic but I thought the price was reasonable although not what you see advertised on the website.

Awful! Though I hired a camper van what I actually got was a clapped-out converted estate car. One of the wheels was a different size. Kitchen accessories filthy and unusable. I contacted them to provide discreet customer feedback; they said they would be in touch and I never heard from them again

We booked a 3 person camper in advance for a total of 13 days.

Pickup experience score 0/5
No vehicle condition report was presented at the time of pickup, I did a video recording walk around pointing all scratches and dents in front of their staff to cover myself.

Service score 0/5
Presented vehicle at the time of pickup was only vacuum cleaned in the front 2 seats area but had dirty windows and windshield, van covered in dust all around the exterior and the dashboard wasn't even wiped clean, was very dusty. We had to clean the camper ourselves before we started our journey.

The camper booking I made included a stove, a folding table, 2 x camping chairs, pots pans & cups with cutlery. They forgot to provide us with camping chairs and table, which luckily I checked at the time of pickup. The stove they provided was faulty which again I had to check and got them to replace it. Had I not checked it we would have been unable to cook anything! The pots and pans were all greasy and I had to chuck them in our dishwasher at home before leaving for the trip. The sink and push tap provided in the kitchen at the back came with no reservoir, I had to buy my own 20L can to fit in that area only to discover the tap doesn't work and had it's vacuum seals worned out!

The only things good I can say is we drove it about 3200km and it started at one go, didn't bail on us at any point and the aircon was good. Other than that, Steering had so much play that it was so hard to control the van in high crosswinds. The alignment was disbalanced to the point, if you let the steering go, i bet the van could make a U turn by itself! No cruise control was a bummer. Suspension was totally gone the front of the van was just running on springs. The wipers were just sooo bad and worn out, I had to stop and get out, use windex and a rag to clean the windshield everyday.

Surprisingly the bed and seats were quite comfortable, no complaints here except the van was quite dirty here and there at the back.

Great storage inside as well as on the roof. The storage compartments inside were not clean though, we had to clean them up ourselves.

Returning vehicle experience score 2/5
The fact that after picking up a dirty vehicle, we had to clean it up once before leaving and then again before returning makes it feel like an extra job and takes some comfort out of our holidays. Now the vehicle was much cleaner than how we picked it up, the return was quite quick and smooth.

Long story short - please spend a few hundread bucks more and get your camper from a reputable company, where there vehicles are modern and they keep there vehicles maintained and cleaned properly, have a professional pickup and dropoff system, which in turn makes your trip comfortable overall as you dont have to worry about things not working as intended and driving performance issues.

Getting a lot of negative reviews on bonds! When I picked up my van I did question this and they told me they no longer taking bonds just a pre auth which gets canceled on return

Steer clear of this company. If I could give them 0 stars I would. We rented a car in Denham for a day in July and they did not refund our $500 bond until October, and only after I had threatened to sue them for it. Do not reply to emails, won’t let you speak to accounts on the phone. Absolute nightmare. Do not use them.

I write this company since 3 weeks every day about my bond, they hold the bond back and tell me I have damage the car, this company is the biggest joke what ever seen as I picked a car up in really bad condition
as the pictures show
never ever rent from this company its a waste of time

Booked a 4wd to Karijini, trip went well except they wont give my $2000 bond back. 0 communication from the admin team, I'm just being ignored.

I ignored the previous reviews about people not getting their bonds back and unfortunately ignored those reviews. Don't be like me, don't use this company!

Would not recommend, we got a Wicked Camper for a trip to Karijini. The check-in person was late so we rushed through the pickup and the supplied stove did not work, so we could not cook any of our food or make our morning coffees once we got there.

The customer service was horrendous; I asked for a credit considering this and they finally replied after more than a month of silence, basically telling me to get bent and providing no credit.

If you do decide to use them anyway, take the time to thoroughly check all the equipment and make sure it works.

I loved my van I hired from these guys. Comfortable, safe, clean and reliable. Good on petrol. Camped in it for 10 nights in beautiful WA remote coast lines. Will be coming back but for 4wd next time. Thank you

A bit slack in customer service. Made a enquiry about where I can go. I rang up got told to email. No one responded. Lady at Perth doesn't seem happy. Didn't feel phone people were helpful or wanted to help.

SCAM. Perth Depo is exceptionally bad. Next to no customer service. People running the shop couldn't hate their job anymore.on top of that $2147 deposit not returned after repeated attempts to contact the business. They bank on foreigners not being able to wait around to get their money back. SCAM.
The 4wd is clearly built by a home handy man and constantly breaks. (which btw they will invoice u for!) How this business is still around is baffling and i look forward to seeing the business go bankrupt.

Had a great experience in the scooby doo mystery machine. No issues with the van. Martys customer service was second to none and really made it a pleasant experience. Ask for Marty as he's the man to see!

Hired a van for about 6.5 days. No mechanical issues, drived smoothly and well from perth-Kulin- perth. Lots of space inside and the seats are comfy!

The extra things like kitchen/ cooking stuff are very basic but we did not use them.

We rented an 'all ridey' car and then changed it to a campervan in Tasmania. The car was really good - big, clean and modern. They upgraded us for free as there were 4 of us to a bigger car so we'd be more comfortable.

We were told the campervan would sleep 3 people however it had just one double bed. Luckily we're all pretty small and good friend so we just crammed in the same bed. The van itself was suitable for what we had paid and what we needed it for - it came equipped with cooking equipment and an esky. Can't really complain given the super cheap price (we also got 50% off because there was a sale on).

I was overcharged nearly $500 by the admin team when we swapped the vehicles - it seemed to cause a bit of confusion. However, Natasha from the head office was a big help and made sure this was refunded. We also got our bond back fairly promptly, within 3 weeks, again thanks to Natasha being on the ball.

So, thanks Natasha for your help and I would recommend Wicked campers if you're looking for a budget vehicle.

I have used Wicked campers several times now. I'd like to congratulate them on an excellent service which catered for all my needs. I hired vehicles from Adelaide and I must say that James was an excellent employee.very Knowledgeable and helpful. He helped us choose the right vehicles for each trip and gave us some sound advice. DO NOT HIRE FROM THIS PLACE- we thought at the time of service everything was fine and had a bit of banter with the people at the service desk. Upon leaving they asked if we would leave them a review as they had had a couple of bad ones. As we thought they were sound we obliged.we now realise why they had so many bad reviews. NOW 8 WEEKS LATER we are still waiting for out $1000 bond back! We were told this would take 2 weeks? We have emailed and rang EVERYONE possible and have recieved no real explanation or appologies as to why we still dont have the money! Give the current circumstance we now need the money more than ever and this has not be recognised at all!

Appalling service and as I read more and more reviews it seems LOADS of people have the same problem!? !? ! What are they doing with our bonds!? !? !? !

The service was great, price was pretty decent too. The van itself was tidy but really not clean, the kitchen area was black with dirt when we wiped it, any area where you need to lift fabric was filled with crumbs and dirt. The milage we got out of that van was awful too, we were only getting about 14L/100km, on dead straight, open road at 110kmh.

There was also no privacy at all. If you are sleeping anyone could come and see exactly what is happening inside the van. No curtains, no blacked out windows, nothing. There was also a super annoying squeak coming from the window as wind went past that we just couldn't get rid of, which after 2 weeks of driving (we did Perth to Melbourne) drove us insane.
