52Excellent place. Careful, their meals are big, if you are 3 order for 2, if u r 4, order for 3.
Disappointing. We chose the highest rated in the district, so maybe we just caught them on a bad night, but I can only write about our own experience.
At first, we were asked if we had a booking. If they had a website, we would have. All they have is three different Facebook pages, none of which take bookings. Be that as it may, there was a phone number but I chose not to use it. That's not their fault but if they'd had a website then it would have been easier for them.
The problems really began with the waiter, who was so sullen and looked like he wanted to be anywhere but in a restaurant talking to customers. My wife ordered an entrée-sized meal but specifically asked for it to come out at the same time as my main course.
It didn't.
It arrived about ten minutes earlier. When my meal eventually arrived, the waitress tipped it and spilt gravy on the table. She didn't pause to wipe it up; she simply pushed the plate on top of the spillage, giggled and walked away.
The food itself was plentiful but it was undoubtedly the worst Thai food I have ever had anywhere. My wife's fish patties were rubbery and only hinted at the taste of fish. My own lamb meal had a piece of bone in it that may have chipped my tooth.
As I say, perhaps we caught them on a bad night. Perhaps they had new staff, but I can only comment on our experience and we wouldn't recommend them on that basis.
Food is great, service is awesome. I hope, menu can be changed to include steam fish Thai style
This is, in my opinion the best and most authentic Thai restaurant in Bunbury. The food is always great and staff are friendly and happy to be there. Could do with some redesigning outside and a bit inside too but still a nice atmosphere. Love this place
Fitted in our group of 6 without prior booking. Food excellent and came out very promptly.
Recommend for sure.
Amazing place had a curry, stir fried and papaya salad. All were some of the best food I’ve had. Staff were welcoming and nice. Can’t recommend this place more. Will be back for sure!
First time here loved the decor of the place. The food was divine but pricey was also charged extra. Not sure why. Overall a great place
Got some takeaway on the way to Margaret river. Got the drunken noodles and they were very tasty but lacking the traditional veges that normally go with them. Very friendly service!
Can't fault the food. This was our first time and it won't be our last, if you like Thai food would definitely recommend this place
I went here for a friends birthday about 6 months ago and was worried I wouldn't like it as I've never had Thai before. Turns out I had no need. When I came home I raved about this place to my family and now we frequently eat from here. Their flavours are fantastic and everything is cooked beautifully. The pricing is really reasonable and the amount of food you receive in each dish is the perfect amount to feed everyone and occasionally leave some leftovers. I don't think I could say a bad word about this place.
Fantastic atmosphere and beautiful service by the whole team. I ordered a warm beef salad and the flavour was good, however I could have used some citrus, like a lime wedge, the items in the salad were super chunky and not beautiful and finely cut, so rather getting a balance of flavor on my fork I had 1 chunky piece of spring onion. I will definitely be back, but probably not for a salad.
Excellent food, it did take a while to be served, but the quality of the food was well worth the wait. Superb, highly recommend!
I was in a group of five last night at the White Elephant. We shared the dishes, which were all delicious, my favourites being the Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. Both were mild with chicken. Chee Choo Fish and Pad Mee with Prawns were favourites of others in the group, who like their Thai with a bite. The staff were attentive and I give my compliments to the chef.
Cosy, lovely and really good food. My favourite Thai restaurant in the area. It tends to get busy, underlining the quality, so booking ahead is not a bad idea. The music gets on my nerves at times though.
The go to Thai of choice in Bunbury. Yummy authentic food. Lunch specials are great value and service is friendly.
Efficient and warm service! Food was quite delicious and authentic, but a little pricey given the portions. Would recommend the duck with plum sauce, as well as tom yam soup to anyone who visits) Will be back for dinners!
First time in Bunbury, had a sumptuous dinner at White Elephant Thai Restaurant. My son rated it 9/10 for the three dishes we have had. Plus a very friendly lady in the front desk is a bonus. We'll definitely come back. ️
Dining at the White Elephant will transport you back to Thailand. Beautifully decorated restaurant, loads of menu items to choose from. Delicious food and generous portions.
Never coming again. Left with untouched chef special tamarind fish as it was so fishy and inedible, wasn't sure if it's off. Tom yum prawn overcooked and chewy. Paid $80 just for a plate of edible pineapple fried rice.
We couldn't keep ourselves from ordering more food after our entrées and main blew us away! Loved the glass noodle salad in particular. Everything was plated so nicely. Service is also uncannily fast. It seemed as though the server barely had time to walk into the kitchen before they were back with the food. We aren't local to Bunbury but places like this make us wish we were!
