New menu is good. Pork was lovely and loved the fresh cinnamon don't dessert.definitely coming back.

Great atmosphere, good food, reasonably prices quick food service. Music a little loud as the night grew on and clearly there is a spot at the bar that is for wait staff only but it's not obvious and not marked you will just get ignored and wonder what is going on.

A group of 12 for Saturday lunch. Food and service was spot on. Espresso Martini sans sugar syrup was pretty darn good, but the Linguini main meal? That was bloody awesome - I could eat it daily
I'd definitely go there again.

We often go her for drinks and pizza and always good. So thought why not try the restaurant. Definitely recommend it

We went here for a birthday dinner and was disappointed with the size of our meals very small and was left quite hungry after we ate our meals, I ordered the lamb rack which was quite expensive and only had 2 small pieces of meat and small amount of vegetables with one small potato. The meals were small for the price you pay, but the meals were very nice and pleasant but very small. If the meals were a decent size for the price you would pay, then I would have given five stars. But the size of the meals for the price that is listed down on the menu is overpriced.
We had great service and the atmosphere was nice and pleasant.

The Kite is a great local bar. The food is always full of flavour and taste amazing. Tons of beers on tap that suit everyone. Great place and definitely recommend to everyone.

We enjoyed a lovely night. The pizza was perfect and the pints cold and refreshing. The staff were polite, courteous and friendly. We'll be back

I wasn't aware that this was a smoke free venue - coming here only to buy a drink and have a cigarette with it outside after a long day at work. I was only made aware of this after I had purchased my drink, to which the lady refused to refund despite not touching the drink.no obvious signage to show that they're a smoke free venue.first time here and will not be returning again.

Attentive service with a smile, staff had good knowledge of their wine list and food menu. The meals were presented very well with a decent selection of local ingredients suitable for the time of year and was cooked perfectly. Also brought out in a timely manner.
Only slight criticism is if the music could be turned down in the restaurant section slightly.

Awesome atmosphere, great service and great food. Staff were awesome and efficient. Food came out quick. I highly recommend and I will definitely be going back.

Loved the decor, reminiscent of 70s, spacious and tastefully decorated, excellent wine selection, welcoming staff and super outdoor area for summer nights, delightful surprise south of perth cbd, scallops and salmon dishes, very tasty would recommend, desserts were yummy and plentiful.
Will definitely go again for 3pm cocktails so we get a great spot outdoors to enjoy the sunset.

Food was amazing.the set up of the Whistling kite is great with separate areas for more formal sit down means and the pub style casual area, wood fire topped it off for me, wS so nice and toasty warm.

Not bad for a pub, but restaurant service was lacking. Sorry I didn't mention while there. Thought it was a given. Staff seemed to mull about the coffee machine, kitchen pass area and not check in on their sections.
You'd make a few more sales if that wasn't the case.

We've been going to the kite for years and have always held it in high regard. The last two visits unfortunately have not been so great. Last night in particular, we attended in a group of 8 including 2 kids. Our orders were taken promptly and our first round of drinks brought to the table. From then on we waited for nearly an hour to get our food which were mains only. The table of 8 behind us came 15 minutes later than us and got their food before us. In that hour we were not asked if we wanted another round of drinks (we did) or if we were ok or apologies for the wait or anything. When the food arrived, it was terrible. Undercooked, rushed and almost like the kitchen had messed up the orders and rushed them out. Our waitress was lovely and tried her best but leaving us without beers for so long wasn't great. They seemed over booked and understaffed and it showed. For the prices they charge, i'd expect more to be honest. The kids entertainment was great last night which was our saving grace as the kids would not have lasted that long otherwise. I will also add that the last time we went for kids Tuesday, a young lad who was entertaining the kids yelled at my 4 year old daughter so loudly that the nearby diners turned to see what had happened. She was jumping on a lounge chair and did need to be told not to but yelling at her so loudly that she ran back to the table scared was over the top. He was lucky I put it down to youthful frustration trying to deal with a bunch of kids and I let it go. We have always loved having such a nice venue so close to home but after the last 2 visits, I dont think we will return in a hurry. Our friends visiting from Melbourne who were with us will no doubt be going home to tell people it was rubbish too unfortunately.

Wait staff had attitude last time I was there, my dad was an executive chef at the Governor Generals residence in Canberra and at a club in Downer. He would never speak the way to customers the way the wait staff have spoken to me and others. Seriously don't go.
