Power is off again in Kalgoorlie. Updates, when they come, state power will be restored at specific time. The time comes and goes and still no power. No air-conditioning in 41°C heat! They say to make a claim, I did last time for lost refrigerator/freezer contents, power was off for 26hrs. Heard nothing or weeks queried progress of claim. Told my claim number, that they gave me online, didn't exist. Then told they required more evidence of my loss. Provided photo of lost food again. Still nothing. Contacted them again, next excuse, my address had no claim against it! Went on for weeks back and forth. I of course received nothing in the end and same will happen this time if I tried to claim. If power is off for set length of time (24hrs or more) an automatic credit should be added to your bill! An unethical business through and through and getting worse!

We live in Bullsbrook and have currently been without power for 29 hours and counting. Whilst we understand there are issues all over the place, it is frustrating that we can get no answers or even get a rough estimate of restoration time. Extremely frustrating situation, in very hot weather.

Even when they make a mistake, with proof, you're still the one responsible. They'll send you to Synergy, who will send you back and thus the cycle of zero accountability!
western power.

Also tell your staff not to assume anything regarding customers and their bills etc.

Next is the ombudsman and the media.

LIARS!

Person inspecting my meter left the box open and damaged brand new down pipe and Western Power claim they are not liable for repairs because “anyone could have gone into the meter box and damaged the downpipe, people are malicious”. Absolutely absurd response and disgraceful treatment by everyone involved

Way too many power outages! I have signed up to receive SMS text notifications for planned outages many times, however never receive a SMS notification of the outage. Only when the trucks are on the road or the power goes out, is our first notification of planned works/outages - then who knows how long the power will be off for. Ice-cream doesn't stay frozen that long.

Power goes out: you immediately know it’ll be back on at 2: 00am. Yet funnily enough it’s not planned? Not to mention how you cut the power to the area that relies on said power to, I don’t know, get water? Come to find out that one street light is down somewhere outside of the affected area, meaning it’s obviously out of complete spite. Seriously? First world prices and third world service.

Western power installed a dome on my existing narrow driveway without letting me know. Use your brain before installing it in first place. I don't understand the logic of installing it on the driveway were there is another 10m of property frontage available. I received a standard typical response from Western Power stating it is meeting WP standards and hence it is not their problem when I requested them to remove/relocate it. Now I have to pay WP to move/relocate, bizarre!

Can’t keep the lights on during peak demand, and outages are more common than they should be at other times. Even small rural towns in Texas 30 years ago had more reliable power.

Absolutely pathetic come home from work to find out the power is off for 4 hours so the $500+ of food and beverages in my fridges and freezers will have to be binned. Assuming it’s not working due to the blokes about a kilometre away working on the street lights. Employ better workers or take better measures to assure this doesn’t happen this is honestly pathetic.

No heads up about it either just come home to this

Hey Team, is there any way to view future planned outages? The site only seems to display things happening that day, unless I'm missing something! Keep up the good work. Cheers

Turns your power off because their online system is having issues with the ‘Moving House’ option, then fails to turn it back on because they close at 5pm. Thanks for killing my expensive and exotic tropical fish.

About time for a class action. Imagine thinking $80 makes up for being so incompetent that you can’t keep the power on for 24 hours in 2022 in a capital city, in summer AND winter. You are all incompetent, and your engineering and economics degrees were obviously bought and paid for.

You guys are great.
People whinging about power outages, yet the world wants to turn green, using un reliable methods?

Don’t forget, the stuff they are working on, CAN KILL THEM! Excuse western power for following a strict process.

Power outage again!
Once in May and once in June!
We couldn't open for dinner trading in May due to power outage and lost our sales.
Again, we cannot open our restaurant today! Today is the most important and busiest day of the week for us, which is Saturday but we just need to wait for the power back on.
If we can, we would like to claim a compensation as we lost our revenue due to the power outage.

Power outage 13/7/22. Power was off at 2pm estimated to be back on at 6. Nice update at 5: 50 thanking us for a patience. Except it will be another 4 hours. 10pm!

The third planned full day power outage within a matter of a few weeks. Western Power must be the worst power provider in a first world country. Got power panels on the roof now, can’t wait to get a battery imstalled and get of their unreliable grid.

This service is totally user repellent and needs a lot of work and of understanding customer service. I am very frustrated and there is no way to speak to a human that wants to solve the problem.
