WA SURGICAL BOOTMAKERS / FOOTWEAR SOLUTIONS reviews
7This is my second visit. I’m a really difficult customer. I came in to try a pair of shoes that Kris has had made for me. Unfortunately the toe box is too narrow and not enough volume. I wear barefoot human shaped shoes now and it’s difficult for a traditional shoe manufacturer to get their head around that. But that’s the way things are with the barefoot community. It will be interesting to see how Kris responds to the tight toe box. So far he has been really really patient with me
The dotty old receptionist needs to retire, walked in asking about an AFO leg brace was told I'd need make an appointment with a padothist made the appointment. Came back a few days later drove 45 minutes across town for the padothist to tell me they don't do AFOs. Here is a business tip for you train your receptionist so she actually know what it is you do.
Kris and his team at Footwear Solutions are amazing. Kris goes above and beyond to help each of his clients, I would not hesitate in recommending Kris and Footwear Solutions to anyone at all.
Sadly I have had to withdraw my previous review. The sole material used in my second pair of custom boots is of poor quality and slippery when wet. When asked to rectify his poor workmanship he replied, ""the rain has stopped now! "" Then suggested I go back to a CROW boot (something I have never had) or pay cash to replace the sole material. The owner lacks compassion for his clients and the company appears to rely on Public Hospital Funding rather than happy customers.
One of very few craftsmen left. They keep me on my feet, quiite literally.
This location is difficult to find even if you put the address in a GPS. The street address should not be Lord Street because you must access it from a short distance and to the left down Newcastle Street. The shop is not in a street at all but a shopping complex off Newcastle Street. Very confusing and well hidden even Newcastle Street. The service at this location possibly deserves 5 stars, the location doesn't.
These guys do an excellent job on fixing / modifying shoes for all types of walkers / runners. Also refurbish orthopedics shoe inserts (considerable savings on molding new inserts). We have used these guys since the 80's and always happy with their high quality value service.
