VHT Perth Supermarket & Liquor Store reviews
32Everything you’d ever want, all in one place. I really enjoyed my purchase and found what I was looking for and more. Definitely a place I will frequently visit in the future.:)
Always great service when I'm in Perth and shop here from Newman the staff here always helpful if I don't understand a product
There are lots of Asian groceries here. Super impressed by the variety of products, especially the hot pot sauce. I can always get the best quality of chilli oil and chilli sauce. Reasonable price and easy to find the products in each isle.
All your Asian grocery needs under one roof. This shop has been operating for well over 30 years. It has everything you need if you are cooking asian food or like Asian snacks and drinks. They even have a liquor section now.
VHT Perth imports a variety of Asian food products including several leading and well-known brands. You can practically find whatever you need for your kitchen and household.
Totally agree with all the reviews regarding the bad attitude of the staff and the business owner (the matured lady with coloured hair standing right next to the alcohol area – the most expensive section) at this shop. I overheard a conversation between a customer and the owner on 25 Jan 2023. The customer was politely asking the availability of a certain product but was met with a rude and sarcastic response from the business owner. Not just in this shop, business owners and staff at Emma Yong Tofu and the Good Fortune Roast Duck also have bad attitudes. These are the people who give Northbridge a bad reputation. Is this a common trait among the Chinese business owners in Northbridge?
Disgusting service, rude lady impatiently put the receipt heavily on the food.
Seems the grocery is big enough so don't need every customer.
Nearly expired food, terrible service, never come again.
Haven’t been for two years. Good prices and variety of products but don't know why the cashiers had a bad attitude same as two years ago. Remind me why always go to the other Asian supermarkets.
Definitely a mixed bag with this place. Sometimes its great. Sometimes things can be nearing out of date. Just keep an eye out!
This is the second time I bought a comprised product in this shop. The shelves life is till 2024 but the coconut milk has gone bad already. Lots of the product in this shop only has 3-4 months shelf life. Be really careful what you get. Most of the products they have on special is either pass the Best before Date or about to expired.
Fair prices and has a good range of selection. I just wish there were a lot more to choose from. That's it.
Fantastic shop. Nice staff. I just wish that some products would be in English. I don't speak Chinese, Korean or Japanese. Apart from that it's great.
Excellent range and excellent value here, 30c for a stalk of coriander ($10/kg), $2 for enoki mushrooms. Huge selection of frozen sliced meat and meatballs etc for hotpot, lots of hotpot base mixes too. They also have trays of deep fried beancurd rolls for about $5. Big range of Malaysian sauces and Japanese items too, I spotted a lot of different types of miso tubs in the fridge.
Ignore the 1 star reviews about service - this is not the kind of store you come to for the service, just get your groceries and go:)
Note: This is a mostly food store, not gadgets - there's only a tiny section for misc kitchen items.
The old woman at the alcohol section is a real piece of work. Not returning to her shop ever again.
Horrible customer service
The checking out lady:Only these three?
“只有这些而已喔?”
It seems like she thinks they are the only Asian grocery shop in Perth and everyone walking in this shop should buy bulks of food otherwise they should be shamed.
Great bottleshop. You can find lots of sake, shoquo, rice wine and flavoured beers that you can't see anywhere else
No doubt one of the best oriental grocery shops in WA. Huge variety of goods, tidy display, bright, always very fresh vegetables!
Purchased some "xiang hang" brand crab flavoured crisps.the English ingredients on the sticker on the back did not list the full ingredients.the ingredients listen in Chinese beneath the sticker contained many more ingredients, including egg white, which i am life-threateningly allergic to.if i had trusted the English translation provided by the importer and not removed the sticker and translated the real ingredients list beneath, i would have had a life threatening anaphylactic reaction.
This is probably one of the best asian supermarkets in Perth. The store has a wide variety of packaged Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malaysian, Vietnamese and East Asian foods and ingredients. I was able to pick up many items that are impossible to find elsewhere. I will definitely visit again for CNY:)
One of the largest asian supermarkets in Perth. Always my go to place when I need any asian supplies. Large varieties, including stuff from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Korea. They have stocked some Asian alcohol as well.
