Dr Helen is the absolute best vet you could ever hope for. She is patient, a great communicator, and is genuinely an amazing human. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and has great judgement.
When the time came, she handled our loss with compassion and heart. Thank you.
Also, thank you to the wonderful vet nursing staff. Always squeezing us in whenever you could.

My 9 year old Rottie/Staffi cross was weak and had been vomiting. I brought her over to the practice with my son. I am so thankful for the vet’s professionalism and being kindly at the same time. The receptionist had been friendly and helpful.

My dog has shown improvement and is on the mend. Thanks Animal Vet Hospital.

The loveliest, most caring staff I’ve come across at a vet. They go above & beyond to look after your fur baby and I even received a sweet follow up call after rushing my dog in for a snapped toenail a few days earlier, just to see how he was doing. I recommend Vet West Wanneroo to all my friends & family and I am very appreciative of the wonderful team!

I have always used Vetwest for all my pets and they have been great.

I had a slight emergency on Monday morning with my cat, the team were super busy already but nurse Natasha was so kind and made time for my boy
The vet that did his surgery did a great job, the stitches are so clean and tidy.

Sarah who is usually at the front desk is always really nice and professional too.

I have not had any problem until I had to question a side effect of the medication that was given to my dog. Instead of understanding I was spoken to rudely. Everytime I went to ask a question I was cut off with "nope, nope, nope" after asking her to hear me out she sighed. I'm very upset as I have always taken my pets to this clinic.

Disgusting will not be back.
Booked to get my kelpies nails done and a check over of teeth and his eyes as has a lot of discharge.
Vet was very inexperienced to say the least.
Took my dog out the back squeezed his annal glands and clip his nails.
Brought him back with an excuse if he was jumping around to much and our nurses get to many injuries. He is not aggressive just fidgets.
Got no explanation for his eye discharge and did not even look at them. Out of all the vets I have been to in other areas I have lived this one is by the worse I would not trust the team here with any pet of mine. I am just happy I had this experience now and not had to take my dog for an emergency at this vet and to charge $99 for not even 15 minutes is disgusting. Every other vet I have been to has not had a problem with clipping my dogs nails. I am absolutely appalled by this experience. Would never recommend to anyone.
I have been to Ellenbrook and midland vet west and have no issue not the staff are disgusting.

Great vets, I wont take my furbabies anywhere else. All the staff are welcoming and show genuine care towards our pets. Having been burnt in the past by vets that are only driven by the $$$'s we decided to change our regular vets and we are so glad we did

I have been going to Vetwest Wanneroo since I got my first dog when I was 12 years old and cannot recommend them enough, particularly Sarah and Cam. They have always been beyond helpful and friendly, even during stressful circumstances when myself wasnt the easiest to deal with. The care is second to done as all my dogs get beyond excited whenever I pull up at the clinic. They are precise and thorough with their diagnosis and information and are great at keeping you informed with any process and no request is too much or too hard. Will always have my recommendation

My puppy Scout enrolled in the 4 week puppy pre-school at VetWest Wanneroo. Led by the awesome Tahnaya, we received fantastic training. Both Scout and I learnt so much. I’d highly recommend this VetWest program!

Just had an experience in VetWest Wanneroo with a new puppy health check and it's kind of mixed. I wouldn't give it a 1 star but can't give anything higher than 3 star for now.

Positive: Reception ladies are very friendly and helpful. I came to the VetWest twice before bringing the puppy in for the health check just to find some information and have a look at the clinic and I was always met with positive attitude and friendliness. The practice manager and nurses who I met were all good.

Negative: The vet doctor. I hope they have other doctors who have experience with new puppies and can provide a proper health check and final summary.
Maybe the vet we had on the first visit is not experienced with puppies but we left with a feeling that we brought the puppy to the person who is still studying about how to become a vet and has very limited experience in her job.
Just reminding that we brought a new puppy for the FIRST TIME health check but the vet didn't even ask about how long the puppy was with us, when the first vaccination was done (didn't even look at his first vaccination certificate) and any other questions we were expecting to be asked from the vet on the VERY FIRST VISIT.
She asked us questions about what is normal for our puppy and what is not normal (behaviour, health, routine, etc) when we talked about his diet and his current problems. We had the puppy for 2 DAYS ONLY before coming here, the puppy had a diarrhoea for 2 days but the vet is asking us if the puppy ate and behaved as usual in the last 2 days. We don't know what is usual for a new puppy and what is not usual, the puppy is NEW to US and OUR HOUSE and we brought him in for the advice about a proper diet, normal behaviour, etc.
Temperature check: we felt like that the vet never did this procedure in the past.: (The puppy was very nervous and almost sat down on the thermometer.
Health check itself: We felt like that the puppy was not examined at all. What was done: weight, abdominal check, temperature, heart check.
That's pretty much it I would say. The rest of the time we had to ask questions we prepared and ask to check coat, ears, eyes, nails, etc. To be honest, we expected that the vet will perform the full examination without our interaction and let us know whether we should worry about anything or not. She told us only to change the diet after we mentioned that we had a diarrhoea problem and didn't tell us any summary of the "health check examination" which was performed.
Next day after we changed the diet from puppy dry food to boiled chicken and rice was the first time our puppy had a vomit. Not sure whether it was related to a sudden diet change but before we had a diarrhoea issue only and after the visit to the vet, we just added a vomiting issue as well.
And the last comment about the visit. Ears check. We asked the vet to check the ears as they were pretty dirty inside and asked how to clean them properly as we never tried before. The vet used a few cotton swab sticks but couldn't do much with it. At the end she advised us to take and use Dermotic Drops. They charged us $50 for these drops which you can buy online for $7-10. And to be honest we don't think we even need to use them at all as the dog didn't have any symptoms. The vet just sold $50 drops to us for dog's dirty ears which we managed to clean by ourselves on the next day.

We should go back again next week for the vaccination after trying to fix the diarrhoea and I might write another review then if we don't cancel that appointment and have a chance to see a different vet doctor next time who might be able to increase our confidence with this clinic and stay with them for long term in future.

If I could give them a zero I would! Nervous & inexperienced doctor who looked terrified to be there, which didn’t make me or my dog feel comfortable. And as for the rude nurse, who pricked me with the needle trying to inject my dog! Yes my dog wasn’t behaving well & getting out of hand but you didn’t need to yell at my dog saying their horrible, I’m sure you’ve come across animals who don’t settle well under stress. Definitely won’t be returning here, only booked because my local Ellenbrook vet west was fully booked & haven’t had any issues there. Save your time & go somewhere else

Would like to thank Vet West Wanneroo for taking such good care of my little foster dog Luna and for Sarah's help fixing my problem. All the staff are very caring, Little Luna is a happy girl now after having years of pain with rotten teeth.
