Vetwest Animal Hospitals South Perth reviews
38Brilliant facility. Staff are wonderful. Premises are spotless and don’t smell regardless of how many cats are there. And my cat comes home healthy and happy to see me
Very thorough vet. However charging $74 for 15ml of antibiotics that RETAILS for $24 is outrageous.
Always friendly and helpful. Takes great care of our dog, and the appointments are always on time
Great pet care but impossible to get an appointment. They do not accommodate emergency or overnight care. Happy with service
The friendly team has been efficient at their service of care for my cat, Kingsley when he was being a treated for a life-threatening condition. Their daycare prices are reasonably affordable with the best standards, in terms of thoroughness and follow-ups. Thank you once again team for helping my sweet boy.
Absolutely terrible service. Have paid huge fees to cover my puppy for all services in advance, phoned with several hours notice to ask if we could be 5 minutes late and was told no and would need to rebook for an appointment that was not able to be delayed. Absolutely would not recommend.
The team were amazing and the vet showed such empathy and kindness when we put our beautiful Woody too sleep last week.
We weren’t rush and they followed up with a call the next day too see how the family were coping and a card in the post.
A very sad time, made that little bit easier by a wonderful show of love.
Thank you so much and we can’t recommend you enough.
I could not recommend this vet highly enough!
The staff and the doctors are so caring and nice. I have had so many issues with my puppy since I got her and their support meant so much to me. I highly appreciate all the follow-up phone calls to check on my puppy after her having consultations.
My puppy also had cherry eye surgery at the vet and she looks gorgeous now! I am so happy with the results and the way she felt after the surgery, and how she is feeling now.
The wellness plan is also great value for money.
I’d just like to give a massive shout out to Dr. Cirsten. He is so passionate about his work and it shows. My cat has has an ongoing, unresolvable issue so we visit the vet regularly. Whenever we visit, you can just see that he knows how much our pets mean to us. He is so gentle and caring with my kitty. My boy was shaking the entire time we were on the way to the vet but as soon as he saw Dr. Cirsten, he was fine and was happy to be taken away for blood and urine samples.
Dr. Cirsten has taken photos of the skin issue my cat is having to show other vets and for his own reference to try and figure out the best way to treat it because we still don’t know what is wrong with him.
This guy really cares for animals and is fantastic with the owners of much beloved pets. I am honestly so thankful that he is looking after my cat because he obviously cares a great deal.
I would 100% recommend seeing Dr. Cirsten if you ever need to see a vet.
You should avoid this veterinarian. I took my Sphynx cat to this Vet yesterday. The vet.told me he was fine, less than two hours later he was dead! And he suffered, absolutely suffered! As a result.
It was obvious that the cat had HCM (A fatal heart condition common to Sphynx cats). Clearly this Vet knew nothing about Sphynx cats as he dismissed my concerns.
The Vet said he was fine, lungs were good, heart was good and injected him with something supposedly for nausea. Then happily took my money! That's what he really wanted! He had me come in at 6: 45pm stating he would be able to "squeeze me in", squeeze in another $145 more like it.
Less than 2 hrs.later my cat was dead.gasping for breath as his heart failed and his lungs filled with fluid. How could a professional not know this? Even I know that his lungs would have had fluid! You could actually hear it when you put your ear to his mouth. He was slowly drowning!
At the very least he could have told me and had him put down, alleviating the poor animals suffering. But no, instead he sent me home and asked me to monitor his breathing when he was asleep. My cat never got to sleep! His distress and labored breathing was obvious even to me. His symptoms were classic HCM. But not for this Vet!
I had my cat for 11 years! He was a treasured member of my family and while I didn't expect miracles, I did expect compassion.
Make no mistake! In my view these people put money and profits ahead of animal health, either that, or they are utterly incompetent.
Came here for a nail trim ($18) several time. Nurses are so friendly and good with dogs. Fair priced and online booking is easy by the way.
This is the second time i have been here with an injured bird. Both times a walk in with no appointment. They have greated me and been very professionaand caring for the wildlife. I simply completed a form and then they advised the bird would go to a carer in the morning if it survived the night.
Just refressing to go to a business thats not in it just for the money, they actually care.
They have large clean vet clinic and great hours, open till 7pm Mon-Friday and all day Saturday.
Such a wonderful experience.
My friend’s dog was sent to neutering. The hospital told her that the dog had been put on hold at 8 in the morning, but the neutering operation started after 2 in the afternoon. During the period, the dog was left unattended, and the nail of one leg broke and fell off from the root. One leg has stitches.after the incident, the hospital did not inform my friend ,Only after my friend came to pick up the neutered dog in the evening, he saw its wound, the hospital told my friend ,and asked my friend to pay for the dog's bandage replacement after the incident!
Vetwest Animal Hospitals in South Perth always very professional and helpful and welcoming. Keep it up.
I have up until recently going to this practice for about 10 years. I have always found the support staff at the counter very friendly and always showed a lot of interest towards my dogs. The vets have generally been okay.
However this changed dramatically this year. For some reason this practice has not been able to keep their vets and turnover has been monumental. Die to the very high turnover and insufficient permanent vets they no longer have vets available on Saturday.
The high turnover means that I am consistently meeting a new vet who knows nothing about my dogs. The questions they ask reveal that they never read the file notes, perhaps due to the limited time they have between appointments added to an unfamiliarity with the place and systems. I this problem has led to misdiagnosis of conditions, a lack of proper advice.
Both my dogs were signed up to the Total Wellness Plan. At first it was recommended and encouraged to book in once a month for a consultation as they’re free under this programme. However with the staffing upheavals I noted that the advice changed to “it’s unnecessary to come in every month” and felt like we were an imposition.
Anyway this staffing issue led t to some mistakes and finally a very tragic outcome for one of my dogs. I feel terrible that I put up with this decline so long and feel that I too contributed to this outcome for not changing vets. I have decided that I can’t trust this practice any longer and have chosen a new practice.
To me I think it’s unreasonable for a large company such as this to find it acceptable to have such a high turnover. The vet I have chosen to go to now has no such issue.
I just hope that no one else has to experience the pain of your family pet having been poorly looked after like what happened to me. I really hope that this practice solve their staffing issue and maintain a stable pool of vets so that the welfare of animals in their care receive the best service.
Always take the best care of my cats, they accommodate all different temperaments of animals and ensure they feel secure
I've found THE BEST VET WEST PLACE, For OUR CAT. RONNY; I hope he's enjoying his little. Break. I love you. & miss you heap's buddy. Can't wait to see you. Me xxx
Fantastic caring, kind and very professional vets and vet nurses at this vet clinic. Made my friend feel at ease leaving her fur baby here for treatment. Gave her dog lots of TLC and attention.
This Vet made time to see us immediately while all others were “fully booked “ at a time of crisis.
We joined wellness plan so have been here few times already. We had very good experience with receptionists and Dr. Joanna. She was very kind to our puppy and let us know about cost before the sample test. Hopefully, we can see her whenever we vist here. She is the best
