Very good gym. A wide range of facilities for many different exercises. The patrons here are friendly and don't bother you during training. The addition of CrowdDJ means you can request your own music and play it in the gym if you've forgotten your earbuds or headphones. Definitely worth getting a membership here if you study at UWA or live in the area.

The girl working at the reception on 7th March 2023 from 6 - 7 pm is extremely rude and racist.

I understand this is not a retail or sales industry, but at least she should have some basic customer service.

Lost access during COVID-19 shutdown of the university and then membership was reactivated without any acknowledgement or direct communication to me. I continued to do online and did not attend the campus, but when I did I was told I only had two weeks left on my membership. Basically paid for a full year and had about a month's worth of access. First point of call was to try pitch me for a new membership with more fees. Disappointed with the poor communication and unprofessional experience.

EDIT (response to your response) :
"A direct email was sent personally by our Fitness Business Manager to all gym members on 4 June 2020" - I received no such email, I have surveyed all three of my inboxes (junk mail included). I attached a screenshot below as evidence, any issues viewing please let me know and I can direct email you.

Unless something extraordinary has happened to that email, please provide evidence that the said email was ever sent to the address registered to my account, I am happy to be corrected if I am factually wrong here.

I'm well within my right not to read your newsletter, the onus is on you to make direct correspondence with me. An email would have sufficed. N. B.: I am not subscribed to the newsletter.

I decline your invitation to make the effort to visit the sports centre and subject myself to an uncomfortable interaction that may likely leave me feeling even worse off.

NB: My initial request for a refund in March 2020 at the start of the university shutdown was declined, also much to my dissatisfaction.

UWA Kids holiday program is not good.
My 6 year old was bullied but the staff ignored her complaint.
I am not sure if the kids holiday program staff have any experience working with kids.
I would not recommend the program to any of my friends.

Great gym with the friendliest of staff and more importantly, concientious staff who are very knowledgable on sports/fitness related issues.

I play squash here and the roof is dodgy as. We have lost so many balls up in the holes filled with fluff. The fluff is disintegrating and falls out frequently.
We pay enough for the courts that it would be nice to not have wire and fluff falling down on the court and an abyss where balls are never to be seen again. Maybe they should provide balls?

Parking is a major problem on weekdays between 8am to 5pm. You need to factor the cost of parking into your overall gym membership cost.

Great school holiday kids sport program. My 8 year old absolutely loves it. Bookings available through their website. They sell out quickly so book early

Good place with high quality equipment and helpful staff, its just quite pricey even for UWA students

Outdated courts and badminton nets.
The lights are really bright, making hard to see the shuttlecocks when playing.
Multiple markings on ground for the different courts (volleyball, netball, indoor soccer, basketball, badminton.) makes it challenging to gauge where your court actually starts and ends.
Staff are civil.
Prices for courts hire are expensive for the quality offered.

Clean and large facility offering a variety of sports and fitness activities.
Decent badminton courts - set up your own net and poles. Lighting could be less intense and more diffuse - sometimes it's hard to see the shuttlecock when it's high up.
Friendly service.
Reasonable prices for students and alumni of the university.
Plenty of clean toilets.
The large gym area felt quite warm so I don't know if that area has air conditioning.
Parking available around facility but it can get quite full and busy.
Overall a wonderful, clean and friendly place to get fit!

I highly recommend the group fitness classes of UWA sports. There are wide rangr of wonderful exercise opportunities. I especially love the Body Balance class instructed by Grace. Most of the instructors and staffs are highly cordial.

Awesome pace to workout. They got pretty much all you need. The music can be repetative sometimes which us annoying but other wise, its pretty good.

I used the badminton courts and they are pretty ok, but it's too noisy. Staff was very friendly

Great gym facility. Has specific rooms including:
- heavy weights room with deadlift pads, squat racks and bench racks.i LOVE this room because it has big windows, is well-ventilated and has a lovely view of the campus foliage.
- a separate room for spin classes
- a 'studio room' which is kind of tucked away from the main gym and includes cables, bars, some light weights
- a main area with a functional training section including a sled, battle ropes and a fake-grass area
- a downstairs cardio area with bikes, treadmills etc.

Generally has a wide variety of machines and weights. Staff are very helpful with membership issues etc.and offer helpful tips on technique.

I would say because a lot of young guys go to the gym, it can sometimes feel a bit intimidating and you do definitely get the occasional bro just like.flexing in the mirror.in front of everyone. If you're a little intimidated about going to the gym, I'd recommend starting out at less busy times because the culture of some of the people here is noticeably different to other gyms I've been to. I guess it's just the age bracket because it's at uni.

The business is also a little different to a regular gym - on weekdays it tends to peak early in the morning 7-8am, and then from 3pm onwards until around 9ish it's quite busy. Get in really early at like 6am, the middle of the day, or weekend or Friday evenings and you've got yourself a nice quiet gym to yourself.

Especially if you're a student at UWA, the prices are pretty reasonable and there's lots of classes and facilities on offer. If you're with a university sports club it's definitely worth asking about whether your club offers discounted memberships through the Athlete Strength and Development Program, as I was able to get a significantly discounted rate through the UWA Boat Club to support my training there.

The group classes were great. The class leaders were all very good and helpful with recommendations for both how to work it harder for the fit people and also how to start slower for someone like me getting back into fitness.
