Upstairs Restaurant

Excellent restaurant. Our best restaurant since we arrived in WA three weeks ago. Had seafood laksa and the lamb. Squid and chicken wings as starters and affogato and Tiramisu for dessert. All was very good and the service excellent.

7 of us dined there tonight and what a great meal we enjoyed
We had most of the menu and everything was served hot fresh and really flavoursome
Staff were friendly and attentive and the drinks list covered our need
Didn’t have a view but had a big table to ourselves

The food was lovely, great lobster and seafood which you would hope from Kalbarri. Fully booked so book in advance if you’re visiting just to be sure. Lovely picturesque sunset to view if you sit out on the deck.

Appetizers weren't very big for the price, but the calamari was the best I've had all trip.
Seafood laksa was good, but not spicy. Prawn linguini was large, with lots of prawns, but not as flavourful as hoped.
Desserts were good and large for the price.

I went to this place a few minutes ago and it was great. We had a great waiter I didn’t catch her name but she always responded promptly and politely. When I asked for whipped cream on my sundae it came delicious and with the exact right amount of whipped cream. The dino nuggies were delicious although it only had 1 brachiosaurus and 5 t-rex’s. I would’ve liked for it to be even. Also the bathrooms may need some cleaning & upkeep. Other than that it was an amazing experience. Please go here!

Had dinner there on a weekend in Sept 2023 before the school holiday and they had a full-house! Booking is recommended. Atmosphere and services were nice. The banana prawn linguine in a creamy sauce was delicious. Our disappointment was in the steaks, which both medium rare steaks were cooked to close to well done, although the steak itself was of good quality. The portions were generous.

Chairs were a bit uncomfortable and food especially the curry Laksa was very different no lemon grass. Chilli paste or coconut milk but it was nice different.

We really enjoyed today dinner in this restaurant. All staff were so kind, food was amazing and mood was also perfect. But steak was a little bit tough even though taste was quite decent. If is there anybody who are going to travel to Kalbarri and want to have nice dinner, I would strongly recommend Upstair Restaurant.

A little disappointing, as we were expecting better due to the rating on goggle but found our meal below average. Staff were great and service prompt.

The Sirloin steak was like old Dairy cow, overcooked and tuff. Presented twice only to go down further in quality. Customer service poor and lack of care on product served.
The chef needs to find a better meat provider.

After waiting for 1 hour for our food, the pork came undercooked, and the whole dish didn’t tasted well (pork belly) wouldn’t recommend

Great views, protected from the wind and the Food OMG. We ordered everything on the vegan menu and then ordered some more. The brekkie at Upstairs alone is worth the trip to Kalbarri from Perth!

Last minute decision today to go out for lunch. We chose Upstairs Restaurant after seeing a post on Facebook showing a picture of hamburger sliders.
Great decision as the sliders were the best l have had.and l enjoy my sliders. My wife had the fritters (gluten free) and will be having them next visit.
Hats off to the current owners Honor and Wayne who are putting in a great effort with variety and friendly service.

Went here for dinner on our first night in Kalbarri. The wait service was terrible. We had to ask for steak knives and salt & pepper. Our water wasn’t refilled at any point, we again had to ask for a new bottle. No one came over to ask how our meals were or take a drinks order. We ordered the tasting plate that cost around $22. It was awful! The olives weren’t ripe and the feta tasted really cheap. They were the only things to “graze on” apart from a tonne of bread and some half full, small bowls of condiments. Was very disappointing. The pork belly was lovely.

Great food and atmosphere. Gorgeous views. Excellent service, food was delicious and served promptly. High recommended!

Such a great restaurant, never had a bad meal or experience. No idea what kind of burger joints the below two reviewers go to some people just can't be pleased.

Where to start… This restaurant was a frequented restaurant by us when we visited Kalbarri in the past! But now 24th December it has gone down. The staff are rude, the food quality was poor and the prices are soooo expensive for the burger joint experience but with fine dining prices! This restaurant is to be avoided at all costs!

Horrible management, place looks like a burger joint whilst charging for a fine dining experience.

We spent a great evening. Professional and very friendly staff. We chose classic food and wine, it was perfect.

The food are really good except the music is a bit loud. We have been eating our dinner there for the past 2 days. No disappointment. We'll done.
