49Located at Bathers Beach. Food is excellent and as good as a sit in restaurant. Also has a bar. Highly recommended
We had grilled fish which was so tough that you could have re-soled your shoes with it. Chips and salad was ok. Expensive for size of portion but I guess you are paying for the location. There was no service apart from the cooking.
This restaurant has become a favourite on our day trips to Fremantle. It is on bathers Beach, a short walk from the roundhouse and Railway Station - follow the railway line from the entrance to the port and you can't miss it.
The staff are friendly and the place is clean with the option of inside or outside tables and, best of all, no noisy music. Being smaller there were no big crowds as you find at the other, more popular fish and chipperies nearby.
We opted for the "Pensioner Special" fish and chips which includes coffee and a gelato cone. We upgraded to mugs of coffee for an overall cost of $31.80 which was great value.
The fish was battered and only just cooked - the way fish should be and the chips were crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside with no salt as requested. The serving was more than adequate for us oldies. Tartare sauce and a lemon slice were on the side. The coffee was good and extra hot, again as requested because I have found too many places serve coffee lukewarm.
From what I saw their burgers looked pretty good too and I may try one next time we are down that way.
Pathetic. 3 staff working, was so unorganised. Cocktails were not good at all and took 1/2 hr to receive after ordering them. The barcode ordering system was very unorganised as we only received notification of our food being ready 10 minutes after it was, so our food was cold.
Definitely won't go back.
Gorgeous day and location for two retirees having a lunch date! 30 min drive from home! Miss you Sydney but this would have been so difficult back there. Easy parking 10 metres away. Yum!
Great little spot on the other side of "the" fish and chips in Fremantle.
Go check it out, folks, you will be very surprised!
Tried the fish tacos for lunch today. Absolutely delicious! And the serving size is huge. I’m definitely going to be coming back here again.
I’m a tough old bird but reckon I’m a spring chicken compared to the one in today’s crispy chicken tacos. Tough, stringy and tasteless. The lobster was no better.
However our companion enjoyed her squid rings, the chips were good and the Coca Cola cold.
First visit and very unlikely there’ll be another.
Good location and atmosphere but food was a let down. We had one normal fish and chips and kids fish and chips. The fish pieces for the adult fish and chips were small, all the fish batter was soggy. The chips were alright. Photo shows the the kids fish and chips, the fish piece in the normal fish and chips was only half that size.
They totally forgot our order so we feel like have to wait for hours before it comes. Fortunately sunset healed our hearts?
Good service and food. Less people, which is the main reason of our visit. The prices are slightly higher than Ciccerello's though.
Vacated tables were not cleaned, seagulls became a nuisance. We were there for an hour and nobody cleaned up inside or outside in that time.
Fish and chips were delicious! Coleslaw was yummy.
Muscles unfortunately were 70% closed, so they were not cooked properly, and drinks were not made until we went up about 5x to ask where they were.
I guess they were having an off day. A party of 5 riders hungry and thirsty arrived at the Twin Fin. One got his food couldnt eat the chips, Chicken Parmy was "yummy". I got my entre of half a dozen tepid Oysters Kilpatrick. The rest did not get a meal even after TF's electronic system said it was ready. We had already waited 50 mins. Plus side is that we eventually got a refund for the lot. A pity really we had been there before and the food and service was great.
Only had frozen watermelon daiquiri (mocktail) - cold, refreshing, and delicious. Best drink I've had in a very long time.
Very disappointing. Paid $73 for 2x family meals - supposedly 6 fish & a generous serve of chips and would be adequate for several people. When questioned as to the quantity she said each piece of fish was between 180-200grams each. Every piece was tiny -estimated that all were under 100 grams so we especially kept one to weigh at home which after the batter was taken off weighed just on 40 grams. Very small serving of chips. Exceptionally poor value for money.
Great spot by the sea and value fish and chips. Good serves in a unique way. Lately we have had our three year old grandson with us. He hardly eats so it's not worth spending $10 on a kids meal. So I have asked if we can have extra chips with our seniors meal instead of the coffee. It seems it's all too hard for them to do, even today we went without the coffee and still got no extra chips to compensate. Seems we will have to start going across the road and try the two outlets.
Beside the beach and close to the town. Sheltered tables out or tables inside. A very enjoyable fish and chip lunch, well cooked.
Long wait and not worth the money. The Cafe inside and outside has hardly anyone at tables. Ordered a family fish n chips, which I've ordered at other places that was much much busier and receive order within 15/20. This order took and hour. Kids cranky, over priced for what we got. Never again.
Fabulous service and food sent out with pride. Owners are absolutely lovely and very welcoming. Family friendly and the kids enjoyed it. Great location and a perfect place to watch the sunset and a nice short walk to the beach.
