Topi Restaurant reviews
32Beautiful food and amazing service from all the staff that worked this evening (Thursday 8/2/24). Than you muchly!
I can not tell you how much we loved the food here! Will definitely be going back. The service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was great at lunchtime. Highly recommend trying if you love a good curry
We have been here now for the third time this year and LOVE the food.
Iam not a big fan of Indian food but I loved every meal I tried in this restaurant.
Yesterday we had a special Christmas menu - three courses there, and all the six different meals we tried were delicious.
Some of the reviews say it’s not authentic Indian - it’s definitely not like the food in Annalakshmi - I didn’t really like the authentic Indian food there, but topi got me.
The restaurant is often empty but it deserves to be full.
We will be back <3
Today my wife and decided to have lunch at Topi, we were welcomed as professional and friendly as it gets without being over doing it. The atmosphere and cleanliness spot on, we liked it a lot.
For some people it may be not authentic enough as for the missing Bollywood music however music you can’t eat it, the food you can.
We had the lunch special Butter Chicken with naan and Chicken curry with rice. Both dishes packed with flavour, also my naan was the freshest and by far the hottest I ever had at any Indian restaurant in Perth, well done for that.
We will be back for sure to try more dishes. Thank you Topi Team.
Ordered two curries, butter chicken and goat curry. Unfortunately non of them had any authentic Indian taste. It lacks the intensity of what Indian food is known for.
I live locally and wanted to try it as it was closer than the usual Indian restaurants I go to. What made me reluctant to go here when it first opened was the menu choice and the high price (don’t mind paying if tastes match).
I finally decided to try and unfortunately would not come back. I’ll just have to drive a little further for Indian: (
Not at all indian authentic food. Curry was too sweet, naans were not well cooked, garlic naan wasn't garlic at all. Portion size is also small. Not recommended for Indian food lovers. May be good for western people who like sweet curries.
Really nice restaurant with great food and they always accomodate my nut allergies very well as well. I’ve been there and had takeout a few times and I’ve never been disappointed ️
Delicious, flavourful food with lovely service. I have been back a couple of times and have gone home satisfied and content each time.
Lets get to the good stuff first - mostly great food - not oily or doused with butter or ghee. Super quick service and friendly staff. I'd recommend the Goat, daal, chicken tikka. We also loved the duck 65 except duck was quite dry. If it wasn't it wud be my first recommendation. The prawn balcao was disappointing- I was expecting small prawns with masala but u get two large prawns and its hard to get the meat out of it. You have to use your hands. Oh and the restaurant doesn't have a washroom. I tried the black rice dessert, definitely innovative but too sweet for us to finish, wud not recommend. There's lotsa other items on the menu that we wanna try and would go back
Topi is now one of our favourite Indian restaurants. We've been there at least for times and each time received a friendly greeting from staff and enjoyed great food. It's a modern looking place but the chef's know their stuff and produce food my dad (he's Indian) loved. The fish curry is something I'm not normally keen on at other places but here it had been excellent. My daughter ate butter chicken all the way around Rajasthan on our holidays and really enjoyed the Topi version saying it was up with the best, high praise! If you haven't tried Topi give them a go, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Great vibe and service was incredible. The Arrange Marriage cocktail and Chicken Tikka are must haves.
Divine food and incredible service. We will be back again and again and again. The butter chicken is one of my favourites. We are never disappointed.
Liked the look and ambience of the place but the food was subpar. Ordered:
- pani puri: other places do this much better (and cheaper), it's all about the pani and this one didn't have much flavour. The puris also could have done with more filling.
- green chicken tikka: delicious and would recommend.
- palak paneer: below average in my opinion. Didn't have the creaminess and wasn't as flavourful.
- naan: looked good but tasted doughy and underdone
- peach and Mango lassi: whilst it was delicious, couldn't justify the price. Like how about serve the drink in a fancy cocktail glass and cut quantity but increase price? ! Smart play but not cool!
Overall - overpriced and superficial food with little essence: (. Would I come back? Probably not.
Amazing choice for a date night. Food was outstanding, authentic and delicious. Staff were incredibly hospitable, attentive and kind. We did the $49 chef course - great selection of the menu, generous quantity and came out very quickly. Beautifully presented.
Fantastic restaurant,
Food was awesome, staff and service amazing.
And we even commented that the music selection was spot on (ambient indi pop)
Cheers!
I had a good dine in experience previously. Thus decided to have takeaway today (25/11) & unfortunately Naan bread was really bad (too thick & doughy) & daal was standard. Just providing feedback for improvement.
Amazing curry, Village Fish curry with crispy skin barramundi. The best onion bhaji. So much flavour. Nice atmosphere also and easy to get a table without booking when going at lunch time. Fav eat spot at Karrinyup and fav Indian in Perth.
My family and I have been to Topi several times now. Chef Gerry, the head chef has some amazing creations. The contemporary twists on classic Indian food are just amazing! We are vegetarian and always seem to have very limited options in most places we dine. But Topi always has great vegetarian options. The paneer tikka and the tandoori mushrooms were just too good. Also the Dal Makhani was one of the best I have had so far. They also had a roast cauliflower dish in the previous menu which just cooked to perfection always. The consistency of the F&B team here is just too good. The chutneys that they serve with their entrees are just finger licking!
Food is delicious but here's some tips for the vibe: 1) don't play loud club/gym music 2) change the bulbs in the lights to be warmer, and dimmer at night 3) idk add some thin sheer curtains to the glass walls. This place would be soo nice if it felt quiet and intimate. Atm it feels like a lunch place that does dinner which is fine but not amazing.
Ambience was nice however the food was sub-par. Paneer dishes tasted like frozen microwave meals. Portions were very small for the price including the lassi. Definitely not an authentic Indian restaurant
