I was not prepared to take the risk with an imported Canopy but wanted to go with an established WA based company and built locally. This hope of a premium build has not been fulfilled. In my mind a premium build, locally made comes with a premium price and I would rather support local industry. I thought TLX4x4

Best way to describe the build finish was all the material was cut folded welded together (mostly, read below) and handed over.
Obvious ones were mentioned at handover (I sanded some edges) but the more I looked the more flaws become evident.

There was sharp edges to 90% of the build with metal burrs sticking out, once I cut my knuckles on one section by brushing past and seeing the roof rack rails finishes that was it. Photo below.

They have fixed the sharp edges and there are some welds missing around the tail light. (there is welded edges on the display but the canopy I have doesn't have that consistant finish)
Just to give an idea of the extent, I sent them 14 photos showing the problems, I took it in on a Friday morning and in the afternoon I was advised they couldn't finish and they had 3 people working on it. That is how much work that had to go into remedial work!

The cut out for one of the Jerry can holders was so inconsistent with the other one they replaced it completely.

I mentioned that once the finishes had been addressed I was looking for a discounted refund as the build was compromised. The director would not entertain that request apparently.

Mentioned to the production guy about the display having the weld around the tail light area. "we haven't done that" this area was ground down to reduce it protruding past the tail light back plate. Missing weld photo below.

What they refer to as a High Standard finish was not achieve on this build. Faults are across the board, finishes, placing and welding parts on that are burred and dangerous (cut hand=LTI) and complete failing in any Quality Assurance and Quality checking to the end customer.

Zero stars was on the cards, however, front office dragged the rating up. Well done John, you were in a difficult position and handled the whole process very professionally.
