Thornlie Christian College reviews
38I have five children at TCC in 2018. My children feel loved by their teachers and I feel they are receiving a well rounded education that helps them grow academically, socially and spiritually. I love that the school is big enough to provide lots of opportunities but small enough that the children aren’t just a number.
It was an ordinary day. I had just finished my bowl of cream cheese and yoghurt when i needed to walk to the bus. I walked painfuly and slowly to the bus in the bucketing rain! On the way i was attacked by an angry magpie! Finally 20m Late the bus driver rocked up and told me i was not allowed on because I didnt have my bus tag. I walked home in the rain slower and in more pain. My heart sank into the wet concrete. "My step dad is going to kill me: (" is what i thought. When I finally got to school at 8: 46am My teacher told me i had to get a late pass because I was 1 minute late. My emotions rushed like crashing waves through my head. On the grueling walk to the office I was yelled at, mocked and scourned by peers and the evil lawn mower man. The rest of the day was mind bogglingly boring. My wet hair made it even worse. My lunch was soking wet and i had nothing to eat i asked the office and all they gave me was a bread. I cried at lunch by myself then was forced to run a marathon in sport (which i had no choice in) My teachers didnt care about my one leg that had been amputated when i was a child. At the end of the day i was walking home when a few older kids started getting physical with me. I ran back to school and asked the nurse for help with my literally purple arm but all she did was give me an ice pack. 4h later i found out my arm was broken. Dont go to providence It is a nightmare: (UwU
I've been very impressed with the high level of care that the teachers demonstrate for the students.
We've been part of the Providence Family for 5 Years now. And without sugar coating anything, we believe the School is Genuinely making a life long difference in our Children's lives.
I am speaking on behalf of many when I say the Leadership especially Mr Innes (Principal) stands by Christian Values that are uncompromising & Teachers are Sincerely raising our Children under their wings, like their own. For that we are Grateful.
So often, we raise negative concerns more than Good Reviews - so here is our honest review based on our Experience so far.
We look forward for the upcoming New Building Project in 2022 as well as Triple Stream in 2023. Thank you Providence.
We have moved our son from another school and found Providence Christian College to be a great school. The teachers are extremely caring and all the staff and parents have been very welcoming. The school has great programs and I am extremely happy with Providence Christian College. As a parent I highly recommend this school.
I wanted to publicly share my thank you to Providence Christian College. My sons teachers have been amazing through out primary school, adapting to challenges of home schooling during lockdowns, encouraging good choices and overall working with our family as a team to assist the development journey.
Christ centred education is at the heart of what they do. School is all about community and families. The teachers are so passionate in what they do and it reflect on their day to day approach with the kids. We have the peace of mind every time we drop the kids in the morning and still having that peace when we collect them in the afternoon, which is amazing. Early childhood education at Providence definitely build the foundation of kids lifelong learning. Our kids are looking forward to coming to school every morning, and that explains everything.
Even more, we are looking forward to the completion of the new building next year.
Our kids moved to Providence this year, and we couldn’t have asked for a more caring, nurturing school. We are so grateful to have our kids in Providence where they feel loved and valued, not just a number. Highly recommend:)
This school has some great teachers and really tries to instill Christian values in the kids. They are brought up to be caring individuals and all are given an opportunity to lead. It is a small school so they struggle to provide all the high school courses that the bigger public schools can, however, hopefully this will change as they are currently expanding the primary school with a new building. My kids are enjoying the primary school and the bullying issues that were raised have been sorted out by the teachers. I am happy with the education and the extra, free small classes for those students that are struggling with a particular subject are fantastic.
Why would I recommend Providence? Because apart from their academic achievement, the leaders of the school and the teachers are doing more than just teaching. To me, they are developing the next generations of leaders who are compassionate and in love with learning. They run great, innovative programs and wonderful pastoral care. They also emphasise on students' well-being. Providence makes us feel like we're part of a great local community.
2 of my 3 boys attend Providence after only starting recently after their Dad passed away. The pastoral care is amazing, genuine care, support & kindness shown to my family during such a difficult time. Seems to be very inclusive, diverse, safe & has lots of opportunities to learn. I am beyond grateful to be able to send my kids to a Christian school, with my youngest going next year too. Yes, it can be strict but it is setting them up for life, learning to respect others and themselves. Most teachers seem to be caring & supportive. My boys are so much happier at this school with great friends & families there.
Teachers gave me no support in primary school, I have a lot of childhood trauma due to the lack of consideration from them. Falling behind in class? Not their problem, teachers would humiliate me. I was being dragged through the mud and it was up to them to help me as I was a child. Their curriculum isn’t inclusive for each learning style, only a select few can succeed while the rest struggle.
The teachers and staff are excellent and all reflect high Christian standards. We are grateful for the support our kids receive and the quality of teaching. I have nothing but praise for this wonderful school. Highly recommend them!
Our family joined Providence Christian College four years ago when we moved to Perth. Typically my kids took some time to warm up to new environments; but when they first joined the primary school, their teachers made them felt welcomed and at ease. Our kids adjusted to the school really quickly; they love going to school. The principal is great and down to earth, he knows the students by names and eagerly interacts with the students and parents. The teachers are lovely and caring. The school community is friendly and close knitted.
The students normally put their stuff near classrooms for convenience sake, and with this new rule, the students will end up getting detentions for being late.
The weather for the past few days has been stormy and cold, but yet, students are not allowed to wear jackets. How many children went home sick?
School is wack.u pay 10 grand for teachers not to care about your children.if you have a kid there now or want to bring/move you kid there, trust me you do not want to.the teachers are so bad same as the principal.
This is much more than a school! It really is a Christian family! A true Christian community who care about others! Couldn’t recommend them more
Is this school in Thornlie or Southern river? If it is southern river why is it called Thornlie christian college? Did southern river expand or did thornlie shink? Please someone explain this
The school is good but my best friend is leaving cuz it's way tooo expensive!
I would recommend making the school fees cheaper and the uniform cheaper.
