Since 2010 this crew of loveable larrikins have chartered the West Winds Distillery bringing  unique botanicals together creating a diverse selection of Australian spirits.

Their first two gins - The Sabre and The Cutlass - was evident they were ‘getting it right’, with Cutlass winning a Double Gold – the First Australian spirit in any category to win a Double Gold - and Sabre a Gold, at The World’s Most Recognised Spirit Competition in San Francisco.

Honouring the land and local suppliers, West Winds choose to use, where possible, environmentally sustainable produce including banksia honey, native bush tomatoes, Davidson plums, native thyme, lemon myrtle, cinnamon myrtle, strawberry gum leaves, sloe berries and sea parsley.

This family friendly tavern also serves up handcrafted cocktails, local craft beers, and regional wines along with a seasonal menu with the freshest local produce and seafood. Our shared choices today -

• Hand cut chips
• 7 Spice squid
Seating inside and out with a play area for kids. In the cooler weather cosy up by their wood-fired stove.  Dogs with well behaved owners welcome.

Luckily we booked from 1730-1930hrs. When the crowds started to come at 1900hrs it was too hard to get another drink. So we went to the TapHouse. Need more bar staff or tills? Wont be rushing back until that improves

What great service, food and cocktails, I recommend the Charlie Chaplin!
Seth the manager is the backbone of this place always working hard and he makes it so great for us when we come here, huge pat on the back for him and also Zac. We can’t stop coming back best fish tacos I’ve ever tried and also the specials are always absolutely crazy I don’t think I’ve ever had such a great time at a tavern before. I’ve been about 10 times in the past two weeks Highly recommend this place!

Went for lunch with a group of friends on Saturday and had an excellent experience at West Winds Distillery. All the drinks were raved about, even the mocktails (see watermelon mocktail pic) and the food was sensational. It took a while to order because only one person was serving but the food came really quickly. Great location & highly recommend.

Great drinks, friendly staff, delicious food including some of the best chips I've had in a long time. Worth the short drive from Margs.

Nice enough venue. Menu is varied but when we ordered told that's not available and that's not available. Why not tell the customer when handing out the menus at the time what's not on. The chef should advise the staff at the beginning of service!

We called in a couple of times whilst staying in Cowtown.

I was surprised that a tavern calls last drinks at 8pm. On a Saturday evening. Strewth. I'm not a late bird by any means, but come on guys.

The food was good and there is a wide range of drinks.

In a Sunday afternoon there is live music making for a great vibe.

From the amazing architecture of the building to the great customer service and ribs oml… everything was sensational!

We will be back!

Best menu & food, incredibly presented. OUTRAGEOUSLY good customer service (we LOVED Garry, and Greg; why not.) and the salty & plum gin was the fave. Thanks for saving our rainy holiday.

If you are a gin lover then you must stop in here. The quality on offer for tastings is great and staff are very knowledgeable. We did not eat so are unable to comment on food.

The effort put in to serving you with the different botanicals put into each serve of gin you get on a tasting, the taste profile that comes out with each tasting, I highly highly recommend.

Food was good, I will say that. But service, subpar. Didn't apply happy hour deals to our drinks until we picked up on it and went back to question, no apologies, no anything. Got our refund but, I would expect an apology at least. This coupled w just in general poor service, not impressed. Won't be back

Unacceptable and disappointing. Travelled from Perth and really look forward to visit this place to have drinks with a group of my family; to only be turned down and not served. Operating hours said they closed at 9: 30pm Saturday and we arrived 8: 17pm, spoke to the staff and his immediate response were kitchen was closed. Understand and a fair point, so I agreed with the staff and reassured that I only wanted to order drinks. Please keep in mind there were still several people here in the venue having their drinks. Still being refused and the reason was apparently "we don't serve drinks or foods from this time onwards". No sense of being valued as a customer whatsoever and that is just simply an excuse and not good enough. I will not recommend this place to any of my friends or family period.

Visited on Saturday night around 8.20pm, and have been advised that they won't be able to serve food nor drinks as kitchen and bar has closed while their opening hours on the website states that they are open till 9.30pm. Terrible experience

Good location, impressive building, very knowledgeable & great staff.
Would have liked a couple of different option on the menu for chicken dishes as we don't eat a lot of red meat. Otherwise a great experience

I am a tourist and very disappointed, says open until 9.30 and we came like 8.15 and they wont served us said they closed.

Visited on a Friday evening, nice vibes, cool venue, friendly efficient staff, delicious drinks, and the best fries I’ve ever eaten. My husband and I were just after a snack, but I could eat those all day, smashed the lot in five seconds flat!

Very bad, bad service from the staff. We came as a family (six of us) at 8: 20 pm on Saturday night, got turned down by invalid excuse like "we are closing right now, while the their operating hours closes at 9: 30 pm. Even worse, we all just wanted to order drinks knowing kitchen is closed but still being refused. For God sake, they are just opening and they are not willing to serve! Its such a shame. Lost my interest to this place
