Really pleased with the results from my treatment at the Vein Clinic. The procedure was well explained to me and the staff provided excellent post treatment support and advice. An all round great experience.

After years of my varicose veins getting worse and causing pain, discomfort and being self conscious of them I started looking at procedures to fix it.
Most involved stripping the vein and a stay in hospital, I was referred to the laser treatment and weighed up downtime against the extra cost that wasn’t covered by medicare so I had the treatment done Feb 2020. I walked out of the clinic and was back at work the next day, repeating the procedure on the left leg the week after.
Due to covid I wasn’t able to do a follow up & have only recently visited the clinic to express my gratitude to the change the procedure has made to my life.
The impact from varicose veins are more than superficial, there are circulation issues that can lead to reduced healing and scarring, limiting physical activity and mental issues.
I had the veins on the inside of both legs treated, from my ankle to the groin. Both have completely disappeared after the one treatment.my scarring near the ankle is slowly disappearing and my hair has grown back on both legs.
I can’t recommend this procedure enough.
Beyond that, my varicose veins and the cause put me on a search to understand why the valves fail in the first place, which is relevant to other valves in the body.

I had pain behind my left knee with discolouration for many years. After going to several places they all put it down to spider veins and proceeded with sclerotherapy. I finally researched for the best and I got it with Dr Matar as he found, that it was in fact, a hidden varicose vein causing the problems. I had a specialised procedure and couldn't be happier. The whole team are so caring and professional. Dr Matar, Ryan, Gulya and Angelica make such a great team. Since being pregnant 6 years ago, I had been suffering from continuous throbbing legs and restlessness during the day and night. I did have some protruding veins in one leg but for me it was the pain and the loss in quality of life that made me want to fix the problem. Dr Matar, the nurse, sonographer and receptionists were all wonderful. They work so well as a team and once you walk in you know you are in safe hands. After my procedures, I can honestly say all the pain I had been feeling in the past was completely gone. I couldn’t believe the difference. The Vein Clinic Review
On March the 3rd 2021, after having completed my pre-consultation vein scans with the Vein Clinic’s sonographer, the previous week, I had my first appointment with Dr Luke Matar. Within five minutes of meeting Dr Matar, he informed me that I needed to seek urgent attention for my Tachycardia (fast heart beat) and sent me off for an xray.
I had been complaining about my swollen ankles to various health professionals for the past 6 months but Dr Matar was the first to recognise my serious symptoms for what they were: heart failure. In a state of complete shock, I received directions from Angelica, Dr Matar’s empathetic and compassionate receptionist as to where the closest x ray clinic was located. I was rushed in for an emergency appointment and Dr Matar’s diagnosis was confirmed.
My GP then had me admitted to hospital emergency with a heart rate of 180! The doctors at emergency informed me that Dr Matar had saved my life. 3 days later, I had a stroke and was able to receive crucial immediate care due to the fact that I was already in hospital.
I am now recovering from an ablation which is a procedure used to stop atrial fibrillation (a form of tachycardia) and when cured, looked forward to continuing my vein treatment with Dr Matar. I know I will be in the safe hands of a skilled medical professional and his caring team.

I started to suffer from hereditary venous insufficiency about 10 years ago with the problem becoming progressively worse with my pregnancies. After many years of insomnia based, at least partially, on restless legs, my GP suggested I visit the Vein Clinic and get treatment on my (visible on both legs) varicose veins.
The result was AMAZING and has quite literally changed my life. I no longer get restless legs AT ALL and am sleeping better than I have in years. I also didn't realise just how heavy my legs were feeling in the mornings and as days wore on. Post treatment, it's like I have new legs. Waking, walking, running are all much much more enjoyable but it's the getting to sleep and sleeping happily through the night that is the most important part for me.

After many years of suffering with heavy legs, then in recent years puffy ankles and feet I felt it was time to research the new techniques for incompetent veins. This is where I came across The Vein Clinic. I had no huge expectations of a quick fix as previous stripping 18 years previous had obviously left a " tricky leg" to be dealt with and the other leg still needing an extensive treatment plan.
On my initial scan with Ryan, The Vein Clinic's sonographer, then my first consultation with Dr Matar I soon realised that choosing this clinic for my treatment was going to be a positive journey with life changing results.
I never realised what normal legs were meant to feel like, as I thought I was just unlucky to have "not very good circulation"
I have gone down half a shoe size as swelling in feet has hugely reduced, I have spring in my feet from the moment I wake up to the time to go to bed. Sleep has improved considerably and no more extremely cold feet. I am able to walk barefoot on tiled floors without an ache in feet and ankles. I even have normal colour feet now!

30 years ago I had stripping which was associated with a slow painful recovery requiring a whole month off work. This was initially successful but over time, my varicose veins returned. The thought of further stripping was quite traumatising so I reluctantly endured the pain, swelling and unattractiveness of my veins for many years.

I was amazed to see how good her legs looked, so asked my GP for a referral to see Dr Matar. I had my veins treated with laser, sclerotherapy and phlebectomy in both legs over several sessions. I could not be happier with the procedure, the recovery and the result. I got the varicose vein on my left leg treated.
The recovery was fast. I played basketball after a week or two.
After the treatment, I was asked to visit twice for the follow-ups.
Everything went great. And I am truly happy with the result on my left leg.
