The Salvation Army Rockingham Corps reviews
13I was here with a client who likes to have a browse in the Op shop then have a coffee next door, then donate a large cash donation. She thinks this place is heaven sent for the less fortumate, and it definitely is. I'm sure all donations will be well utilised and bless all the workers who are so kind to everyone
Sorted out unwanted gifts and lots of new and nearly new clothes and drove up to shop to donate. An unfriendly man met me at the door to say they're not taking donations in the last half hour. The shop is still open and it's 4.30pm? I also have $150 of ladies hygiene products and shampoo etc but I'll definitely be taking them somewhere they are better appreciated.
POSITIVE & NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BELOW
Unfortunately my review has changed for all Salvation Army corp locations such as this, 1 star less due to the new policy of ringing thru to a call centre instead of ringing the office/church itself. It has made it more difficult to get an appointment now & for those without a phone have even less chance of getting thru.
POSITIVE POINT
The free lunches they offer Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are beautifully prepared and cooked with care & it always shows.
Love the staff and services they offer here. Said services also attract a huge range of disadvantaged citizens, some, with a clear drug addiction and under the influence.but mostly people keep to themselves. Will continue to come for food bank though.
An amazing place for all. If you're in need of anything- meal, coffee, chat food bank, advice this is where you should go to.
A huge thanks for the help we've received.
Run by Good people volunteers and staff and attended by some fried peanut brains and wannabe gangstas
Great support. No judgements. Break out of your isolation and drop in for a cuppa or a meal at lunch Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Good variety of stuff and the lady was so helpful and friendly.if your a thrifty deffs one to go have a look at
Good bread and vegetables
Free for the financially
Challenged.also counsellors to give you advice and help
Really impressed! Breakfast for anyone who needed it, bread available to take home as well as bananas. This day they hosted a Live Life Expo, that consisted of Life life waste free, waste free kitchen, financial advice, pet advice from RSPCA, be real to yourself and lots of giveaways. Well done!
Staff very committed to helping anybody who turns up, feeding them, giving emotional support and counseling.
Lovely and warm.fellowship.of believers caring for those who are marginalised particularly the homeless.
Food hamper given included vegies and fruit that were going bad, bread that expired 3 days ago, a pack of gum, 6 donuts, 6 eggs (3 were bad) and the option of 2 items from their pantry even though I was there with my son. The lady offered a little bag that had salted potato crisps and other unhealthy items (like a lolly pop).
