The Saint George Hotel reviews
62 Disappointed in the food. We ordered a fungi pizza and 1/2
Lobster. We had to wait for a long time other people who ordered before us were getting their meals. When we got our meal the lobster was hard and chewy and dry with no sauce. Also my pizza looked like it was just slapped on with the mushrooms. Very disappointing. Wont dine here again.
Almost died trying to get up the stairs on crutches. 3 big flights of stairs, no ramp or elevator. No help to get up stairs, scared the hell out of me. Steak was dry and chewy. Service was terrible, lazy bunch of staff playing with their phones, disgusting.
Didn't like how you have to fetch your own food? And plates were too hot to touch.trays would be great.and No high chairs.
I ordered caprese salad with chicken. Got a plate full of tasteless tomatoes and tasteless cheese and a bit of chicken on the side. Very unremarkable, unsatisfying meal for the price I paid. What's happened to the saint. It used to be fantastic.
The staff are always great but it can be hard to get service at the bar. Decent pub food but wouldn't recommend the pizza. Chicken parmi is really good and filling. The drink specials are good.
Found metal in my pork belly noodles and it was swimming in oil.
Just not for me, and whilst they comped my meal they didn't do anything else. Not offer a replacement meal or offer a voucher for next time. Just all over not impressed
Great place to watch the ufc on a Sunday. Heaps of screens both indoors and out! Pizzas are a winner also
Disappointed. Went for lunch on a beautiful day and paid too much for terrible food. Scotch fillet steak for $29 as tough as a boot, flavourless mash and lack lustre garlic sauce. Vegetarian nachos were “okay” I guess.but for $19 I’d expect a bit more love in the dish.
Won’t be coming back I’m afraid.
What has happened to this place?
Used to love this pub but recently the meals have changed, very cheap chicken and average food that was supermarket processed chicken. It was ready in 2 minutes and felt like it had been sitting there for along time before I ordered it.
I hope it can change back to what it was because it was good food previously.
Great place to go, whether you're after a nice meal, or want to watch whatever game is playing on the bug screen outside. Lots of outdoor heating for when it's a bit chilly also. Good selection of drinks and not overpriced.
If you dine there, introduce yourself to see what an asset he is.the saint may not be gold plate dining but with Staff like him who are diamonds in the rough this loyally patronized establishment needs not awards but support from locals in these troubled covid times. I'll be back in heartbeat!
The dessert cabinet is a stand out for a suburban Pub at the moment: $7 ea for a choice of about half a dozen cheesecakes plus other goodies. Selection of ice- creams in freezer would do Baskin Robbins proud, great for kids and cheap!
Staff, including Security downstairs, all welcoming and efficient. A "local" venue worthy of support.
Not much of a pub guy, but this is an excellent venue. Service was prompt and very friendly, and the prices were average. Good AV setup as well.
Pleasant surroundings, steak was cooked well, very tasty, good service. Overall good experience.
Very disappointed with the food - we went there for Thursday lunch - the pub was not over busy - we ordered Garlic bread which came out soft and doughy - Saint Burger was average and the chips were over cooked - Barramundi was thin and there was a heap of mash potato - all in all went away saying we will never go back there. The girl that was doing the service was excellent thumbs up for her.
Always great service with staff consistently kind and caring, they also always seem to be happy at work. Food is great and always saucy
Great atmosphere.pool tables, table tennis.just a shame its shared with TAB
meaning u can enjoys the games but have to look at and be around losers.
Really nice place with affordable meals for a pub. I got the chef's salad without any dairy, and it was lovely! The asparagus was slightly underdone but it was barely noticeable. The drinks are great and staff were super kind and happy to chat and give their opinions on different liquors. However they were still efficient on making sure everyone wasn't waiting long to get their order taken!
The only issue I've had with them was the last time I went, I went to a work get-together on the steak special night, and even though some asked for medium rare and others asked for well done, they all turned out the same and were quite chewy. I tasted some and unfortunately. They were right. Some also complained about the seasoning but that's hard to get right for everyone, everyone has a different preference.
Love the place though and the amazing staff, I've been here a few times and the steak thing is the only issue I've seen.
Music too loud everywhere, even outside, at 3pm. For single people after a beer and flirt it would certainly be nice. However, me and my partner came after some nice pub food and a beer. Food was very average, and you even need to go to a far bar to collect, they don’t even run it to table. Pork belly bites was alright but chicken wings were a very weird type, “schnitzel kind” and extremely greasy (even dripping as broken apart) and the flavour was a let down.
Food very disappointing. Restaurant prices and cafeteria quality. One of our party had a parmi that was burnt and another had a seriously overcooked steak. I wouldn't bother to go again.
