THE Record Finder reviews
32This store is amazing! There are so many rare and collectable records.just to begin with. Mark, the owner, is such a good man to speak and deal with. This is an epic establishment!
If you've ever wandered into The Record Finder, initial impression are 'what an amazing store, stocked to the roof! '. I beleive the reason WHY they're stocked to the roof is they probably never actually sell anything. Like most other reviewers, my issue is with their pricing. Expect to pay (or not pay) 2 to 5 times over the highest price that a comparative item has ever sold for on Discogs. I was in there today and a surf rock compilation from the 1970's was stickered with the description of 'surface wear and crackle, sold as is' - price tag, $130. That same record is being sold on discogs by 2 different Australian sellers in VG+ condition for $50. Their electronic section is quite vast, however breaks/house/trance/dnb singles from the early 2000's that command prices under $10 are priced between $25-50. I am not sure how it still exists but whilst I am glad it does, it's main purpose for me serves as a physical library of things I look at in person then go and buy elsewhere online. Staff are innatentive and leave you alone. If you do buy something they're somewhat awkward. A great example of why online shopping flourishes.
The best record store in Australia, if I needed anything, we called each other and said hope all is well, Mark, Karen and Grant are the best owners, I been through records at this store since the early 90s and when it used to be OPP target.
If your looking for any vintage vinyl or maybe want to purchase a gram, great place to spend some time flicking through the endless collection of records. Great place to buy a gift. Mark the owner is always happy to help and his knowledge of the industry is impeccable.
Absolute pleasure shopping and found some treasures. Fantastic staff and service was terrific too.
This is an excellent place for record enthusiasts. Although I personally didn't purchase any record from this store since I had already bought from some other store in Perth and was done with my budget. But this place has a great vibe. The owners were extremely kind and helpful as I tried to browse and see if I could find something with the leftover budget I had. They were kind enough to take me thru the store and help me find records. I really really wanted to purchase from this store but couldn't since a couple of records I liked were out of my budget. Hopefully i get to visit Perth and I shall come and visit this store and get my records. Lovely store and thanks once again to the owners for being so kind.
BEST RECORD STORE IN FREO! You have to check out this affordable, classic record store!
Mark and his other lovely staff member have been the been the absolute best in introducing me into the world of records! I will always thank them for helping me show new records and genres! I came in wanting to paint old records but i ended up falling in love with how the music sounds and started appreciating it and ended up buying some! The records are in such good condition and so many albums that i only can find here! Its one of a kind! The pricing it also really good and they have a good ear to music taste! I hope more people check out this gem of a store in freo!
If you are a record buff this is a must go to place. Great range of artists and styles. Like a record shop should be.
My first experience in Fremantle was such a great one. Part of this experience was coming across The Record Finder. A beautiful, full and broad-ranged store, it had so many options for me to choose from. There was everything from The Beatles to 2pac!
Mark, the owner, listened to what I was after, brought all options out, and helped to shortlist my choices whilst having an authentic chat to me about the store, its history and personal life experiences! He was extremely patient as I thought and consulted about which one I was going to go with.
It was a great start to my visit last Friday to come into this store.
I walked away with two awesome gifts and the knowledge that I can order from Sydney, which I am very excited about.
Thank you again, Mark. I hope I can come to the store in person again soon.
Mark the owner will provide any help you need regarding vinyl records or vintage record players
Unrealistic prices, especially for the restored Radiograms. Owner is rude and uninterested with zero people skills.
Support your local record store! What great place to browse vinyl and spend some time. This place has got everything. Luv it.
You can find some old records and vinyls here! A nostalgic place that could bring you some good memories!
Great shop, an Aladdin's cave of musical treasure and a very courteous shop owner with an encyclopaedic knowledge of music and equipment. Must check out the record players.
Good service great vibe.records can be pricey but its understandable considering its such a nice shop
If you're after vinyl, this is the place for you. Great amount of stock on store. Prices can be high, depending on condition and rarity. Staff are knowledgeable and let you browse without any pressure to buy.
Some seriously niche stuff in here. Relatively organised but scattered and some imported vinyl is overpriced (price of rarity).
This shop is insanely cool. So much stuff to go through in here. Really good prices too. I can spend hours in here I swear. An essential Freo shop. Staff are really great too.
I don't hate the place at but it's not there it's down the further now in the West End of High Str. Please give correct photo.
Attendant was too busy talking with her boyfriend to provide service. I believe the owner was out of the store. I walked out after waiting 5 minutes.
