The Marron Tale Cafe and Marron Farm reviews
19 What started off as an interesting visit was spoilt when the owner/manager occused us of leaving without paying.
Apparently she thought none of her staff capable of operating the till/ card system.
Would never recomment.
The marron was bland and the manager was rude.
What a delicious lunch, the marron experience was well worth the visit not only a great lunch but Deb makes the most decadent sweets, fabulous staff and service, highly recomend a visit here
Nice spot for a tasty lunch. Obviously the main drawcard is the marron, so expect to leave with a dent in your wallet. They do have non-marron options - the burgers looked great. I've been spoilt with access to marron from friends farms, so I was a little shocked at the small amount of marron on each plate considering the price, though this is pretty standard with the high costs of marron. Worth the price for anyone who wants it though, as they are tasty little crayfish! A large table near us had an amazing giant platter of marron to share (shudder to think what it cost), & some others who were staying in Peaceful Bay came out just to pick up a couple of big bowls of marron to take back. The outdoor seating is great with a pleasant outlook. There's plenty of grass for the kids & dogs to run around, & some swings & a big sandpit with toys etc for the kids to keep occupied. There's a couple of young maples planted in front of the building which will look awesome once they're grown.
The staff were lovely & helpful - immediately stepping in to help when my mum's dish came out with egg on the salad (she's allergic), returning with a replaced salad egg-free.
Worth a visit for a tasty treat of marron
Extremely friendly service. Plenty of outdoor space for kids to play. Indoor outdoor seating.
High prices but expected and ok for overall value.
Managed to walk in on a long weekend
:)
We stopped over for a break and had some smoothies and vanilla slice. The smoothies were perfect and the vanilla slice was world class. The hospitality was superb. Thank you ladies - we had a great day riding around the SW.
This is worth the stop. Wonderful food. Deb is lovely and very knowledgeable. Would recommend the Marron Platter.
We enjoyed our lunch. Good burgers and they had chips.
Friendly staff and pretty quick service. A bit of a playground for the kids and a nice outlook.
My wife and I went for a birthday lunch. Booked and given a table by the window looking out over farmland.
Service was great and very pleasant. Able to answer all questions about the food and wine as able to talk to a real person and not an IPad. We are from the Perth and hate that trend.
Ordered the marron tasting plate to share as entrees. Very suitable to share if ordering a mains. We both ordered the grilled marron as a main course. I asked for chips instead of salad as I had seen chips available as a separate item. No problem at all.
Marron was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of garlic. The chips were excellent; crunchy and soft in the middle.
For dessert, I had the homemade vanilla slice with a fruit coulis. Delicious and the coulis almost a fruit compote.
Rounded off the meal with a West Cape Howe white.
Would most definitely recommend this restaurant.
Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. We ordered the marron & crab share platter with an Asian slaw, bread, Dukah etc.
Marron was cooked beautifully (3 tails) the crab was a disappointment. Was water logged, unfortunately overcooked and mushy.
Also had a carbonara which was nice and 2 pork spring rolls with slaw at $15 which wasn’t worth the value. Maybe if there was 4 spring rolls as they were just standard size.
Presentation and service was great.
Brilliant little spot. Food was lovely, and the atmosphere was great. Nice area outside for the kids to explore.
Staff were absolutely lovely.
WOW.definitely worth stopping at. We had breakfast there which was delicious. Coffee was amazing. Brekky was amazing. We also bought a couple of Marron and had the cooked. Only disappointment was the breakfast menu had nothing on offer with Marron. Did suggest a Chilli amd Marron Omlette.this place was a highlight of our trip
Stopped on the way to treetop walk. Quality not matching the expectation. Staff is very friendly. Food is a bit average and overpriced.
Oh my goodness what a lovely little place to stop and relax. Awesome coffee and such friendly staff and owner. Hubby ate Marron and loved every bite. Definitely stop here it is caravan and dog friendly. Great tourism advice too. Thank you!
Enjoyed a coffee and pancakes.
Coffee was amazing. (I love a good coffee)
Some tasty Marron dishes on the menu.
Kids playground area.
We had the beef burger which was fantastic but was very pricey $28, especially given we weren't paying for table service. Service needs improving if we are boasting this place for overseas visitors.
Otherwise enjoyable visit and good food!
Beautiful Cafe on a beautiful families farm. The place is great. Delicious food, wonderful service a definite just after the Peaceful bay turnoff.
Fresh marron, just a tad overpriced. Can try if you are round the corner at Valley of Giants.
Loved the authentic vibe, and the hospitality. Their speciality is absolutely delicious, could be a bit easy on the pocket though. Worth a relaxed lunch/brunch
We drove a long way to eat marron at the cafe and there was no marron, only Thai curries on the menu. What’s the deal? Very strange to advertise as a marron cafe but not serve any fresh marron. The website should clearly state that marron is only available at certain times of the year. Otherwise call yourself “The Thai Cafe” or something similar. Terribly misleading and disingenuous.
