The Kardy

One of the most delicious chicken burgers I've ever had. Amazingly tender piece of chicken thigh. My only feedback would be to say it would be awesome if there was a little more of it in the burger, but in terms of value for money, it was great.

We live close to the Kardy and every time we go there we notice the prices and the portions? It’s def not the same? The floor manager seems to be tipsy all the time, The Kardy sure needs a lot of TLC including hygiene.

It’s sad to see this place slowly deteriorating, it’s got vibe, it’s family friendly, great location and it’s been around for a long time.

My brother asked to do karaoke. They said no and let all the other “regulars” go twice and told him they didn’t have enough time. Rubbish: he’s the next Australian idol

Ordered medium rare steak. Was dead raw. Waited 5 minutes at the bar to get served for drinks as what looked like 16 year olds were " begging other regular patrons for tips as they're poor" don't go here on a Wednesday. Worste experience I've had in a long time.

Food burnt, dry and processed chicken not fresh chicken. Salad 3 out of 10.
Very disappointing as we have had delicious food there before, certainly not the same chef.

If I could get away with not having to give it a star I would.
After booking a large group of 36 people for a 90th birthday 1 month in advance the person that took the booking didn't bother to enter it into the book. Rang to confirm and was told there was no booking. They then booked our table of 36 and 3 high chairs. Rang two days later to make sure and someone had cancelled it. Booked it again for 36 people and 3 high chairs. Got to the tavern and they had the table ready for 30 people and 1 high chair. Got told that was what we booked. Seriously, that's BS
It was a hot day and were told by one person that the aircon didn't work but by another person it was on but not working properly.
The food itself was plentiful but not that good.
The staff were friendly that is what made the experience tolerable.

Really great lunch. Unfortunately my friends who were with me were in a great hurry to order, so didn’t read through the whole menu.
But what I ordered was delicious as were my friends meals.
We had the nasi goreng with chicken, the mee goreng with prawns & a Caesar salad.
All good size servings & reasonably priced
Next time will try the garlic prawns or one of their steaks.

The Kardy is a casual old school pub located in Kardinya. The staff are super friendly and the food is good. The steak is amazing! I often go with my elderly parents and they absolutely love it.

Yeah went for lunch. My food was pretty ordinary 38 degree day and aircon wasn't working. Don't think I'll be heading back there anytime soon.

Absolutely disgusting. We are locals & regulars here & yesterday the food was at its worst.
Will never return.

Went to Kardinya tavern today very disappointed waited for 1 hour for meals we ordered coffee they where just about cold waited for every for them also the chips where cold ️

Mainly gave this due to the rather rude bar girl behind the sport bar. Just not friendly. Tough gig working in a front bar type situation but no need to be rude to everyone. Food was ok. Beers were cold.

Best pub ever. Apart from one of the bartenders shes not freindy at all and i get the sence of hostility, she definately shouldnt be working in hospitality or at the tab for that matter, she makes the experience quiet unflattering

What a great place. Nice atmosphere, very friendly and knowledgeable bar tender and absolutely amazing food. Way too much as well, we did share the chicken schnitzel and barely managed to finish it between 2 of us.
Will definitely come again.

Went with a group of seniors and we were all happy with our meals. Staff were great and we didn't have to wait long for our meals.

It seems like an Oldies tavern but rowdy outside, so as you'd expect, the food is excellent. Booking is appreciated, but you have to call their Bistro number, and the website is a bit hard to read.

Surf & Turf
I ordered medium and got a well-done but amazingly tender steak, So -1 to your preferred level, though it seems the kitchen knows what they're doing, so you won't be disappointed anyway.
Prawns were great and thankfully light on the garlic.
Chips were super crunchy yet not oily and good portion size.
The salad was standard but fresh and the perfect amount on the plate.

Entrees
The fried chicken was good, the garlic bread was forgettable, and the poppers were well spicy.

Drinks
I had Peach Lemonade, and it was very nice and also dangerous as it doesn't taste like a drink with 4%. Pricing was average, and they have a vast selection available and on-tap.

Service
It's only now as I'm thinking back, that I recognise how great the staff were. I remember the night for great food, and the conversation with friends.
Quick, busy and polite staff. Helpful, thankful and not intrusive. All were exceptional, and I don't remember any one of the 4 or 5 staff I interacted with except for a sense of friendly smiles and effortlessness.

Atmosphere
The table was relatively small but a blessing as being closer meant we didn't strain our voices through the evening, and it was an easy volume to chat away. The floor channel for the partition caused a few surprises when the chair leg dropped in it; what's a night without some surprises?

Family
Whilst I wouldn't go out of my way to take my family here for a meal, if I was a local I't'd be on our list. If it is rowdy like that outside all the time though, it'd be the long instead of the short list.

Overall
The price was surprisingly good and even more so considering the quality. Great food and good value.

My family"s experience at "The Kardy" was favourable. I found the staff very helpful, my food consisted of, for starters, the Crab & Corn Soup which was delish. I thought I was on top a good thing. This was not followed by anything near as exciting although it sounded great - the "Sticky Pork Belly" with Apple Sauce and Coleslaw". Let's call it the "Dried Out Pork Belly with Apple Sauce" and a dollop of Coleslaw - not particularly memorable. I think I should have had the "Lamb Shanks" which I was told were lovely.
The toilets in the dining room were a disgrace with the stale odour of urine wafting into the eating area. The toilets at the far end of the dining room were much better but obviously "The Kardy" is requiring a huge facelift. It made the whole eexperience, what positives there were, a big disappointment.

Dee is the maddest bartender out 10/10 recommend to anyone and everyone if they want a good time and a good pub to go to I recommend the Kardy anyday

Crappie food microwave pie and chips definitely not worth $26 the only good thing on the plate was salad.
