The Hive Hostel - Perth City - Northbridge

Unfriendly staff, reception closed when it should be open, small and broken bathrooms, broken beds and mattresses, broken and not working locker, wristband to open room door are not working, loud the whole night because of the club nextdoor, would never do it again, worst hostel I’ve been to!

Cheap, nice staff, clean, pool table, backyard where you can chill out, close to the party streets, This hostel is GREAT.
Also, for being a client, at least 2 nights every week you have free beers in two different pubs close to the hostel. After spending 6 months drinking goon, this is a oasis in the desert.
Definetely BEST HOSTEL FOR BACKPACKERS.

Nice place and nice staff but I had a cold shower and my girlfriend as well, I don't know why the hot water was not working

This was one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed in.

We arrived late, around 1am and checked into our private room. When getting in there, the room itself resembled a prison cell, it was tiny, grotty and it was obvious that the sheets had not been changed, there were stains and hairs on the top bunk. We climbed into bed to discover that the bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress was obviously old, there were springs popping up everywhere and it was stained.

There seemed to be only one bathroom with showers for the whole place and they were disgusting. Not particularly dirty but mouldy and in desperate need of some TLC. There are loads of people that live there which gives it a very weird vibe. We never used the kitchen, couldn't face it!

On top of this, there was a lot of noise from the bar next door, you could hear the music clearly and it went on late into the night. It didn't really bother us, the mattress meant we weren't getting any sleep anyway!

By chance, we met another couple of girls afterwards who had stayed here over the same weekend as us and they felt the exact same way as we did. I'd probably advise paying a little more to go somewhere a little better!

Busy hostel located just 5minutes from the city center. Work for accommodation is available for those looking for work.

Been here twice, had a nice room both times. The place is in need of a clean up as my account unit was leaking onto the side of my bed but other than that it's a great hostel

Free pool table and futsal table makes for a lot of fun with the other guests after a few drinks. Wifi worked throughout the hostel and in my room.

Friendly guests from all over the world. I stayed in the 24 share dorm and was very quiet and a great way to meet others.

Cheap hostel located in Northbridge. 5 minutes walking distance to everything in the city. Staff were friendly and effective. Hostel is full most nights so book in advance.

Clean, cheap, 3mins to the city center and Perth station. Backpackers are in charge of reception, cleaning very nice atmosphere. Week end noisy till 2-3am cause of the Court bar next door. Otherwise quiet.

3. Staff will take your food out of the fridge
4. Everyone need to follow the rule but not for staff
5. Staff's emotion is unstable always shout and scream at guest
6. Stealing will be kicked out but if you know the manager it will be fine.
7. The bathroom and toilet are disgusting and a lot of bugs

The only good thing in the hive is price.
