The Downs IGA reviews
28Don't buy from them using Uber Eats. I always have issues with my orders there. Last time, the shoper couldn't find the items of my order (10 items) ans it was sending just 1 item. I've cancelled the order and went there, surprisingly, I could find all the items. The shoper is just lazy there.
Would give 0 stars if I could! Was seriously disappointed today when I tried to return a bottle of milk that had gone well and truly off a day or two ago and supposed to be okay until the 12th. The ‘lady’ I spoke to was extremely rude.and wanted to know ‘where the rest of the bottle was’. Ummm.we have been drinking it until we realised it was almost rancid! She was not prepared to do anything about it and suggested that my fridge was the problem, even though every thing else in there is fine. I am visiting my 90 year old mother who has been a customer there for many years as it is close enough for her to drive there still. I shall be doing everything I can to get to her to another shop in the future!
Store is well stocked and very neat presentation. Bit Pricey though but that’s fine.
Ready to eat meals are disgusting
A more bougie selection of items, but that suits the neighborhood. Interesting stock and a lovely pastry and flower section.
A hideously expensive store that frequently charges more at the checkout than the price advertised on the shelf. Only use in emergencies or if you enjoy being ripped off.
Friendly staff, good range, fresh fruit and vegetables. Could do with a better selection of hot food.
Strange dates and a lot of products sold at the expiration date whiteout any warning mixed whit the rest.
One example of eggs marked whit a sticker date
Very friendly staff and a good selection of food, but make sure you carefully check use by dates on packaged products. I’ve lost track of how many times I got things home to find they were out of date to begin with… And not marked down items either.
ATM not working and I had to do a minimum $5.00 spend to get some cash, otherwise it is a nice, busy supermarket.
I live near hear so I come hear often for treat runs. The cashiers can seem a bit out of it sometimes at night but they're tired and are very nice people. On some days where they're refilling the shelves the staff there have real body odour issues. But other than that. The prices are really good. Sometimes even better than Coles or Woolies. I did burn down a while back but I was a bit too young to properly remember what it was like before then. Otherwise, 5/5 would nostalgia again.
Very clean, all the food especially the fruit and vegetables are well presented and the prices seem reasonable
The best local supermarket. Always have everything we need. A few more Deli specials and overseas food these days.
Love the store, well run, fairly well priced, nice people. However, they need to educate themselves on what they are putting out into the world and stop doing ridiculous things like putting avocados, which have a great natural packaging, on unrecyclable polystyrene trays that will be on this earth forever more and then wrapping the whole thing up with a healthy amount of glad wrap it literally blows my mind that they think this is necessary or justifiable!
Been shopping at ‘The Downs’ IGA for 7 years. The store is always clean, the staff are always helpful and the food is always great.
Good value super market with rewards points program and good Senior discounts every week. Also friendly helpful staff!
Amazing fresh offer and great value considering the fantastic size and quality of the produce. Meat is top notch too and great variety throughout the rest of the store.
100% packed, bloody COVID19! Lockdown from 6pm so panic buying! Thank you to the staff for taking care of the aged and frail in the queues with bottles of water. It's lovely to see people helping each other during these uncertain times.
I didn’t feel appreciated when I got served. If the girl behind the counter dislikes middle aged men so much, then maybe she should apply for a position in a women’s refuge
Another great place to drop in to get hot meals and yummy food
Wish they had more stores like this south of the river!
