The Boat - Mindarie

A big thank you to all the staff at the Boat yesterday for my 70th Birthday. The staff went out of there way to make sure everything was going ok. Also seeing if we need anything. Our Great Grandchildren loved the attention they got from staff. Seafood Platters were a great hit. Staff cleared away plates as we finished our delish meals. Thank also to the bar staff, with taking the our food orders and drinks were great. Everyone will be back as they enjoyed the food especially the sea food platters and the drink prices were great. Thank you for everything.

It's not a bad place to relax and enjoy a meal. Plenty of seating if you go a little early but the atmosphere is well worth it.

Lovely chicken tikka curry and also a black rice
salad here on a Saturday night 2 weeks ago, was pleasantly surprised how tender the chicken was. You can sit inside or outside where there are nice harbour views. It was busy and a big mix of people, a fairly relaxed atmosphere.

The food here was terrible.
Ceaser salad so wet brown lettuce and unpleasant to eat really average!
Squid was horrible my kids love squid spat it out.
Cream sauce for steak taste like milk.
I just don't get it.
Thanks for helping me decide its better to eat at home then go out.
Gave it a second chance the only thing saving it the view.
Told the lady her reply thanks for the feed back.

I've always liked it here, it's a great location and the food's good. The laid back, slightly tired decor and basic furnishings are a better fit for a casual lunch than evening dinner and drinks, but it's still pleasant.

It's a hit and miss experience at the Boat.
We had a meal, 3 of us, and I had a great Irish Stew. The others had Scotch Fillet Steak and at $39 a big disappointment. My partner had to send the 1st one back, it was still raw, the pepper sauce was so full of garlic it was not eatable.
The salad is just red onion basically. The other steak was only fair. The tacos we Shared were fantastic but were served with main meals.
Finished off with a beautiful chocolate pudding. That was delicious.
The tribute band was awesome and bar staff friendly and great, although a dreadful expresso Martini was served.

Nice place with great potential in a great location. Staff are very nice and accommodating and always happy to help. The food however is a big let down.breakfast with cold poached eggs.waffles cooked so fast, the middle is pure raw dough.

Was there today 13/6 for lunch. What a huge disappointment. Waited an hour for our lunch. Hubby had seafood chowder, 3 muscles that was it, full of carrot and celery. Toast was burnt 1/10. My roast pork was very thick no crunchy crackle, no apples 2/10. And the ladies toilets were disgusting

I was surprised to see areas for dogs which was cool
I ordered the garlic prawns and rice. Oh my God so good. Couldn't fault it. Friendly staff
My partner ordered the fish and chips which was lovely.

Indoor lighting is really bad, can bearly see your food. Food was great, just couldn't see it very well.

Great spot! Really enjoyed the seafood here. Grilled Octopus with Chorizo was so perfectly charred and tender. Also the chilli muscles are bursting with fresh chilli and plump and delicious. You know you want them. You deserve them. Get them.

Food was delicious, views delightful and toilets immaculate. Food took a while to come but well worth the wait.

Restaurant has indoor/outdoor dining with great ocean views, lovely fresh seafood dishes, and very pleasant, friendly staff, we really enjoyed our lunch there yesterday.

Very poor choice of beers unless you like cloudy murky craft beers. I asked the bar person for a pilsner styled beer, and she didn't know what a pilsner was! Seriously? The mixer machine was broken, so no lemonade, coke etc was available for mixers or a long cool drink! OK, things break, but seriously! A pub with no mixers on a 38 degree day? How hard would it be to.pop out and buy some cans of coke/ lemonade? A great location.but that is all.

Foods cheap, and a nice venue if u don't mind the birds. Was served in five minutes for a meal that would take realistically take 30 to prepare fresh. Which is sad, especially
When you tell people food is made fresh. Point is, It may be bought that day but served knowing it was cooked hours ago is even worse.

Such a shame it’s a great location and atmos, friendly staff but the food is subpar and expensive for serving size.really missing out on an opportunity to have great food, not as good food as it used to be: (

Ordered a bowl of chips and chilli mussels and told it was going to take 40 minutes. Most tables were full but the ones that weren’t hadn’t been cleaned the whole time we were there.
We asked for a menu at the bar to be told they didn’t have any and we would have to go look for them on the tables.

Came hear for Christmas lunch thinking that’d be a great idea, wrong ordered at 1215 it’s now 150 still no food thanks for ruining Xmas shoulda stayed home and cooked

I have been here on several occasions and found the location beautiful and the staff brilliant. On the basis of this I talked the family into going there for Christmas Day lunch and what a disappointment. The bar staff and waitresses were lovely but it took an 1 hour and forty minutes for food delivery. The Christmas turkey lunch was simply awful. Rock hard potatoes, puréed cranberry sauce and turkey tough as shoe leather. I was so incensed that complaining might have made me more grouchy than would have been decent on Christmas Day so we left rather than order desert. Won't be back on Christmas Day.
