The Berkeley River Lodge reviews
20 The best place to see and do the Kimberley experience you could go too. The staff are bloody great and always helpfull.
Every little trip, boat, 4WD or in the Helli was extremely well organised and most importantly had plenty of ice on the drinks.
Thanks for the experience all, and a bit of a mention on Dempsey, Haggis, Scooter, Gazz, Tim and the "Young Plumber" behind the bar. Thanks a lot.
Strop and Kaye.
Most amazing time, staff, and location. Great team looked after us throughout. Well worth the price.
Everything about our Berkeley River Lodge holiday exceeded our expectations: the spectacular location, the extraordinary activities, the gourmet cuisine - but above all, the staff were simply the best. Can't recommend BRL highly enough. PS - be sure to book the sunset helicopter flight.
I wish there were 6 stars because this place: food, scenery, activities etc was absolutely incredible. I’m lost for words describing the staff, what a beautiful bunch of people which made our stay extra special, thank you.
BTW the helicopter sunset tour is a no brainer.
The unique location and incredible effort to create a luxurious and caring environment with fabulous food and drinks served with enthusiasm and knowledge in a challenging place. Incredible hard working staff, all of them, and such a positive feeling. Thank you all.
One of the best short breaks (5 nights) I've had in my life. Quality of everything was fabulous - food, service, amenities, etc, and nothing was too much trouble. The highlight had to be the half day helicopter flight - floating around in a stunning rock pool with a cold beer and noodle, going to see the Aboriginal Art and then watching the sunset.
The warning you receive when you arrive is hilarious - watch out for the crocs, sharks, sea snakes and box jellyfish, apart from that have fun. Overseas tourists must wonder what they signed up for.
My wife and I stayed at Berkeley River lodge for 5 nights.
WOW, what can I say.
The hospitality was excellent from the moment we were greeted. Dempsey was there with a glass of bubbles and introduced us to the complex and the area.
We were looked after by multiple people, but a big shout out to Georgia and Kori.
The Chef, WOW WOW WOW. Amine was absolutely amazing. He was very attentive to everyone. The meals, from breakfast, simple pack lunches, proper lunches and evening meals were stunning. He always went out of his way to talk to you and find out what your really wanted. Great sense of humour.
Then there were the tour guides. A big shout out to Andy who had to put up with us for most tours. He really did pull the short straw. He made each and every excursion/activity fully enjoyable.
Finally, couldn't have made my wife's birthday lunch andy better than with Maddie who just at the end of the fishing trip, stopped at a great spot for my to catch a Dhufish that the chef then cooked for her birthday lunch.
All the staff were absolutely fantastic but I don't have enough space to list them all out.
I wish Berkeley River Lodge and their staff all the very best for the rest of the season. And unfortunately, this once in a lifetime holiday must be repeated again sometime in the next few years.
I would highly recommend this amazing place and staff to anyone wanting to go and relax.
Really great staff (nothing is too much trouble), amazing food (great chef) and activities. The helicopter ride is a must. A fantastic trip and highly recommend.
Just returned from a magical five days at Berkeley River Lodge. The tours were fantastic, especially those taken by Bruce which really made our stay. All the staff were very accomodating. Food delicious. Would highly recommend a trip there!
7 star
Spoilt with everything. Prestine river and beaches, Experienced guides full of interesting information. Unforgetable.
Fantastic staff! The sunset helicopter flight was a wonderful highlight with lots of other options available to explore the wilderness. We loved every minute!
Beautiful remote setting, welcoming staff. We loved our stay and really enjoyed catching our lunch which was expertly prepared by the chef. The walk and swim atop the gorges was great and we enjoyed learning about ancient rock art.
One of the greatest holidays I have ever had. First class food and wine, great experiences - highly recommended
From the moment you land the staff are kind, thoughtful and attentive. The food is fresh, well thought out and relevant to the location and surroundings. The chef has obviously given a lot of thought to producing a menu that appears simple and elegant but is tasty and well orchestrated. The location is beautiful and the idea on which it was built by the first owners and the indigenous elders from that land has been fully realised. The Lodge and its staff introduce you to the magic of the area and the many attractions. We enjoyed heli-fishing, a full day of visiting attractions by helicopter including rock art, the stunning King George Falls, the Berkeley River and beautiful sunset from Mt Casurina. I would recommend the Lodge to anyone - thank you to Liz, Michael, Nick and everyone for your thoughtfulness and kindness throughout our short stay.
Amazing experience, magnificent location, superb service from a wonderful team. The chef presented an incredible variety of superb food topping off our whole stay. This is a must, destination!
Unbelievable experience. Very friendly and professional staff. Chef created amazing dinners. You can either emerse yourself in the excellent daily activities or relax by the pool. Hats off to the Managers Michael and Liz.
Without doubt one of our best trips ever great food superb accommodation and awesome location
Outstanding! Superb location and great service. Nothing is too much trouble for these people. Enjoying every minute.
What an amazing experience! Here we were in a remote part of the Kimberley being wined and dined and treated to an experience like no other. Wonderfully professional and passionate guides shared their knowledge of Aboriginal culture, bush tucker, the geographic features of the area and the diversity of the flora and fauna. All of the staff were just fantastic. I can’t recommend the experience more highly to anyone who wants to experience the real Australia.
This place is something very special. I couldn’t disagree more with peoples negative food comments as everyone staying there this week including myself were SO impressed with the meals. I guess meals are just a personal taste thing. Everyone working there were so friendly, helpful and passionate about what they were doing. You need a very special team to run a place as remote as the lodge is. The helicopter trip although is an expensive add on is simply stunning. Special shout out to tour guide Bruce who like the lodge offers something special. His knowledge and passion 5 stars
