40Reading through the reviews leaves you on a different platform. Its all about personal experiences I guess. Well, I am really happy we chose to go forward and really happy with the outcome. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Specially the service and advice worked 100% for us.
I would not recommend Dr Somerville. As the first appointment in the day he arrived 1.5 hrs late and gave no apology, refused to read other medical information sent through prior (stating he did not have time to do this ever), and would not provide writen results when I requested. Was traumatising in his treatment of my young daughter - not child friendly. Expensive and unimpressed.
Extremely rude and not recommend at all. Did allergy test a while ago. Called and emailed for a report (which I believe is a reasonable request), replied my email after 3 weeks saying one word “No”. How rude! Also too expensive - paid $460 for 15mins consultation.
After reading the comments before, I was a little alert, but experienced nothing bad at all (though I feel sorry for the people who did!)
Absolute nice staff, reasonable waiting time & caring doctor! My questions were listened to and replied. Very nice way of treating my child. The receptionist even made me aware our referral letter will only last to a certain time, so better to make the follow up appointment a week earlier.
Hope many others will experience the same like us there!
Very busy and efficient clinic. I had and continue to have a really positive experience with this centre and am very grateful for Dr Somerville’s service.

Forgot my appointment while sick and juggling multiple specialist appointments. Despite explaining that I'm currently functionaly disabled and out of work I was informed that I would still have to pay a $60 fee for missing my appointment. I'll just have to put up with my allergies as I can't afford any more medical bills.
Reception seem very easily irritated in conversation and emails with them. Not very nice manners despite me paying and apologising for a last minute cancellation that was out of my control.
I'm unsure how else to reach the practice manager of this service in order to give feedback which I would ordinarily prefer to do privately so am posting here. I have had good treatment as far as I can tell from Dr Somerville and am currently mid-way through my allergy desensitisation process. Unfortunately I have had unpleasant interactions with the admin team at this service on every occasion I have spoken with them. I'm unsure if there are issues with them being understaffed / overworked etc.but it's been notably unpleasant, and I think is really problematic for a health service when these individuals (most often one particular person I have interacted with) come across particularly rude and abrupt. I'm hoping this is an issue that can be addressed with some feedback and coaching. I work in health and if I was aware that my admin team were speaking to clients in this way I would be very embarrassed and want this to be addressed. I hope for the service's sake that this can be remedied. Otherwise I have had no issues with the care I've received from Dr Somerville himself.
After reading the reviews I was a bit nervous to have my first appointment BUT Dr Somerville was absolutely lovely! He asked a lot of questions, let me explain my issue and viewed photos of my skin. He came across as very caring and knowledgeable. I would have no issue going back to him if I need to
Great appointment - dealt with my presenting concern and questions, had no issues with the appointment or staff. Dr Somerville was informative, professional, and efficient. Would recommend
If I could give a 0 I would. Dr Somerville is the rudest and uncompassionate specialist I have come across. Terrorised my autistic child, did not listen therefore nothing of concern tested, was awful to his staff, practice was run very unprofessionally, patients had food and were not told it wasn't allowed, basically told ED Drs over the phone very loudly treating a child who was his patient that his anaphalactic reaction was their problem. Would not let me ask any questions, talked over both me and my mother. I would rather eat dog vomit than be in the same room as this man.
I've been attending this practice for 30+ years and would recommend them to the world. They have always been most helpful and treatment is second to none.
Extremely rude admin people, turned up for a return appointment and was told I needed a new referral. Have never needed a referral for a follow up appointment while under treatment. No phone call from admin people to confirm I needed a new referral. Dr was great on first appointment, though with such rude admin staff will find another Dr in future. Admin staff dragging down Dr reputation.
Admin person happy to take my $400 a couple of weeks ago for next stage of injections without a new referral. Could have told me then that I need a new referral for up coming appointment. Very unprofessional.
It would be so great if patients didn't wear perfume. It may not be one of their allergen, but it may be someone else's.
All patients should be aware that this clinic has no care for your privacy, rang them today to get them to stop using my personal email address as their reply address as I receive all of their undelivered emails, test results, patient replyies etc. Adim staff member who answered the phone was rude and unconcerned and told me that I just shouldn't read them.would you open email if it was addressed to you? She didn't care and hung up on me.
Makes for interesting reading anyway.
Highly recommend Dr Colin Somerville as he provides regular testing & treatment to my son for his anaphylaxis with efficient & effective service at his practice for which we are grateful as parents & for our family.
Colin is the preeminent allergy specialist who has helped my son manage his allergy immeasurably.
Focused care, with a direct and hands on approach.
Highly recommended.
Been trying to call them for over a week to make an appointment, every time I ring the phone is “busy”. No email to contact them that way either.
The receptionist that seats closest to the entrance of the specialist office is quite rude.
