Tao Cafe reviews
70Trinh gave us the best service ever at TAO everytime that we eat here plus the food is always great
Fantastic food, great variety, pricing is very good and location is convenient. Off street parking available, and service is very good.
I paid 24$ for a Japanese curry and I get less than half a cup of curry for my takeaway meal I may as well have gotten rice and chicken//// update I didn’t even finish quarter of it chicken was rubber and rice was dry as hell
Really enjoyed our meal. I ordered the pork gyoza entree which was delicious and a Pad Thai chicken main.
Pad Thai Sauce is usually made with fish sauce, sugar and tamarind. This tasted like it was just made with sweet chili sauce. Didn't have any of the flavour of a normal Pad Thai.
I also ordered the creme brulee which was absolutely delicious.
I was disappointed with the pad Thai I wouldn't order it again.
Food on train a bit expensive. Tap water warm yuck. Uncomfortable stools. Kirin beer no longer available. Food still good but above factors lose points. 3 yrs ago I would have rated 4.5!
One of our orders was given wrongly and when pointed out the waitress insisted that she was right. She argued that she had repeated our order when in actual fact she hadn't.
Also on an extremely hot day the aircon was hardly working. Not an enjoyable visit. Wont be coming back.
If I can give zero star, I will. Husband and I ordered two Thai dishes, we have returned my noodles as it tastes overly salty and bitter. The staff told me they have tried my food and think there's no problem with the food, they told me everyone has different preferences and unfortunately it doesn't fit my preference. I will never come back again, to be frank, Tao's quality has dropped significantly over the past years.
Over priced for the quality of the food and the service you get.
Its been getting worse over the years and my last visit was the last straw. Done with Tao.
The people are good! We tried Tai food and sushi train. Beef are too sweet. The Sushi is not too bad but simple ones. As to the price, worth for trying different kinds of food together, but for the quality of food, a little expensive.
We ordered Garlic pepper stir fried chicken (21$) and Thai fried rice with egg and vegetables (19$). Taste was good
Really expensive. Our pho was just stock powder, overcooked and breaking apart rice noodles, and a few pieces of chewy beef. So disappointing.
Food is nice, but we had takeaway order, no spoons, chopsticks, napkins, and noodles stick together in one lump and hard to separate, looks like noodlecake.
Give one star i think because im nice, they deserve -5, old sushi on train i can easy say for 4 days ago, i try to explain to stuff the where looking at me like questions mark, well done owner you will be top worth sushi in WA
Congratulations
Highly recommend the TAO chicken noodle soup. Full of flavour, excellent quality ingredients with large portions. You can't go wrong
Tao should be ayo because that's what I be yelling when I come here, I mean I was surprised when the beans were on the green plates because I'm pretty sure they are free in some bushes outside nandos but for the most part it's a good time here, with the rotating plates and vibey music it's almost like a Saturday night at connections nightclub minus the creeps, the food is tasty that have flavours that blend well, I struggle with ibs but this meal is no bs by far a place I'd rate in fodmap digestion health (if you know you know), idk what kind of herbs they put in the jasmine tea but let me tell ya those veggies are going down nicely which is exactly what i needed for a tuesday night before i hit some volleyballs, thanks guys.
The food is a disappointingly subpar experience.our orders didn’t look like the photos.overpriced for what ends up on the table (especially the sushi train). Service were lovely.overall, it’s fine but don’t expect anything delicious
i would strongly recommend not getting the “popcorn prawn”. 1) it looked so unappetising in comparison to the photo 2) way too much batter! Sure, it made each prawn look “bigger” but it made the whole thing chewy and tasteless.no amount of sauce could have helped the cardboard like taste.i suggest avoiding anything fried as i assume they use the same batter for a lot of the fried dishes
agedashi tofu could have been great but the sauce was holding it back.too sweet and not enough dashi flavour.the tofu itself was cooked perfectly.
Every time we visit here they forget a menu order made by one of the guests at my table or myself. After 30 minutes they then say 5 more minutes, then another 20 minutes passes there is still nothing. Today will be my last.
Some constructive feedback would be more training and more selection processes during recruitment, perhaps write the orders down and do one table at a time, do not stop at other tables on the way to kitchen where orders can be forgotten, invest in some of the new technology for restaurants such as self order Ipads/QR codes. This will surely help this consistent issue that seems to happen at the Innaloo store.
It was important to note its always quiet when we are in there, just two other tables.
Don't disagree with the staff unless you want to face AGGRESSIVE & RUDE behavior.
I've been going to Tao, Innaloo for many many years now.
We ordered a VEGETARIAN LAKSA only to find shrimp in it. Our reaction was to politely call the staff and return the dish (untouched) and on being asked if we want another dish we refused and continued to consume sushi and other things we ordered.
When it came time to pay the bill, we requested for the Laksa to be removed from our bill. The manager tells us that the menu didnt specify it was a VEGAN dish and it was our fault. When we tried to explain to her that we ordered a VEGETARIAN dish assuming it will be well, VEGETARIAN, she continues to argue about the semantics of VEGAN and VEGETARIAN and blatantly saying we are WRONG and the dish is NOT VEGAN.
Without raising my voice and being polite throughout the discussion, we pretty much failed to convince her and after her tone continued to get more and more aggressive, we simply paid the entire bill.
And as I am paying the bill, she continues to go about how WE DONT KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AND ARE WRONG. I pay the bill and tell her to stop being rude. Her response as I am walking out is to say "MAYBE YOU ARE NEW TO AUSTRALIA AND DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING".
Forget the fact that they're in the hospitality industry or that I am a long time customer, maybe it was a misunderstanding between us and the wait staff. How is a restaurant supposed to act if someone who is a VEGETARIAN gets a dish with SHRIMP in it? A polite refusal was too much to ask I guess.
I hope it was worth not only refusing to remove the dish from the bill but actively DISRESPECTING people.
All for 18 dollars!
I took the family here for supper and we really enjoyed it. The staff were super helpful to a novice sushi person like me, and the food was really good!
Food are good. I enjoyed the variety of different cuisines available. I would call the options on the sushi train 'experimental' rather than going for some standard affairs. Price is a bit on the high end for what it offers.
