Swim in Common reviews
25Fantastic video analysis with Paul yesterday - knocked 15 seconds off my 100m pace this morning! So delighted.
A very HOT Red Mist today. High temperatures meant the pool was particularly uncomfortable and not very refreshing. However, wise words from coach Paul, more breaks after each set - we were still able to get in a good 4km. Put in the hard work and it always pays off.
After doing a 1-2-1 session with Sally, I have joined the Swim in Common squad. Super friendly bunch and really welcoming of new swimmers. I was a bit nervous for my first technique and threshold sessions but Sally, Paul and the squad put me at ease. There is always someone to swim with, no matter what your speed/experience.
If you're looking to really improve your swim endurance fitness and be part of a friendly swim squad - I highly recommend the Red Mist set!
Sally has a keen eye for correcting stroke technique details to improve efficiency in swimming. My video analysis followed up with 5 sessions on improving technique have been money week spent. She is a wonderful, attentive coach who really wants to see her swimmers improve.
Thank you Sally!
Learned so much from Paul in our session. I’m only a beginner and seems daunting but he broke things down really easily and had a big improvement already
Just completed my follow-up session with Sally. I have learnt so much about my swim style. With a few modifications, my technique feels so much easier. The adjustments made were felt immediately. Thanks so much, Sally!
Sally is amazing to work with. She is not only excellent at stroke correction but also caring and kind in the way she does it. I have done multiple sessions with her and each time she is able to improve my stroke considerably, helping not just my physical stroke but also confidence that I am doing the right things. Highly recommned
Very easy to understand & communicated very well, made some minor changes to my technique & I could feel the results straight away
Best and most useful hour I ever spent in the pool. Sally keeps things clear and easy to understand to get instant results. The setup is very professional with video analysis and underwater audio comms. All the advices are spot on, I can't wait to go back in the water to put that into practice. Thank you!
Sharp and sweet! Super new session for Threshold Development this morning. A Coach that never stops thinking, testing you and caring. A ‘cracker’!
Paul's a gun coach and great bloke to boot, highly recommend
Swim in Common to improve your technique and get more out of your swimming
I now understand how people can actually enjoy swimming rather than seeing it as some form of arduous task.
Sally's tuition took me from feeling like I was driving with 2 flat tyres to having an aerofoil ride. I was moving through the water rather than sinking through.
Thank you, the difference was amazing.
Threshold Friday with no drills. I definitely worked hard & got my HR super high. 3km. It was called The Goldilocks session. Baby Bear, Mama Bear & Papa Bear. And then vomit Coach Paul you definitely know how to get the best out of us. Thank you again.
My first 1on1 video analysis session was hugely beneficial. Paul highlighted some fundamental errors with my stroke/technique and provided me strategies to correct them. The improvement was instant. Highly recommend.
Great session with Sally on Monday. Always appreciate the advice and critique of my stroke. Found it made a big difference. Thanks sally!
Loved the Friday session! Tough set but managed to lead all the way through with a little encouragement from the coach and fellow swimmers. Great squad to swim with and lots of opportunity to push yourself and improve. Thanks Coach Paul.
A really interesting 'speed'/threshold session.different an actually enjoyable. Though very testing 'pace wise', it was concise so not actually daunting in an 'endurance sense'. Made even more interesting for me as I trialled dealing up my stroke rate (a work in progress over the last 8 weeks). Notwithstanding an increase of a second every 100 in pace, I actually found it easier each time I added an extra stroke to the tempo. Bloody interesting!
Paul has an unerring ability to quickly identify stroke faults and provide solutions and improvements that can be implemented within the session. The feedback in the car on the way home was 'that was so worth it. " Thank you!
I was quite amazed at the level of analysis Sally gave me on my stroke. I've noticed significant efficiency improvements just a few weeks following the session. The drills I was recommended have helped correct my imperfections identified in the session. I look forward to the next one!
