I always order the Açaí bowl with a coffee, the Staff are always on hand to assist with ordering if I get stuck using the ipad - I love the idea of ordering this way, it reduces time and the service is so fast. The atmosphere is always ambient and relaxed at Secret Harbour! Keep up that family vibe it works

Big breakfast, Veg Breakfast and coffee were amazing. Fresh, generous servings that came out super quick within 5-10 minutes.
Can’t wait to go back for lunch!

I went in for breakfast today with a couple of friends, to try out a new local eatery, and unfortunately we weren't too impressed.
I ordered a coffee, orange juice and acai bowl. The coffee tasted very burnt and bitter to the point that I couldn't finish it. The orange juice was definitely not worth the $8.80, it rated like a home brand pulpy orange juice from a carton. The acai bowl had a good flavour however, I don't think it was worth almost $21, it was also served in a coconut bowl that didn't have a flat bottom so I had to try to keep it level while eating otherwise it would spill over. I was also disappointed about the vegan and "picky" comments on the menu, and the fact that you could ask to make even the smallest of substitutions, even to just take something out. They have no consideration for food allergies and intolerances.

Fantastic food and coffee. This is just what we have been waiting for in Secret Harbour. Initially we thought the prices seemed a bit high but the portion sizes are large and well worth the money.

My son and I decided to try out Surfing Lizard in secret harbour for Lunch as it’s our new Local so to speak. The cafe gives you a nice feel as soon as you walk in. The menu is substantial with lots of yummy choices. We both decided on the fish and chips which was barramundi which happens to be my favourite. I wasn’t too great on the iPad which you order on but a very helpful friendly staff member was only to happy to help me which was great. Even tho they were very busy our food came promptly and was delicious My son had a iced Mocha and said it was one of the best he had had. Loved the soft serve ice cream in it. We definitely will be back and can highly recommend taking a visit all the food that was coming out and being served to customers looked very appealing and appetising.

The cafe is big and in a lovely location. However, the owner insists on leaving the front doors open so the sea breeze gusts in, which makes it cold and uncomfortable. I did ask if the doors could be closed, or at least one of the two, but was advised "people won't know we're open if we close the doors" - which is hard to accept considering the amount of people in there (which you could see from the big glass windows surrounding the cafe). We were moved to another table, which was a bit nicer, but still cold. The food was decent, we ordered the fish, s&p squid, 2 x big brekkie and a kids toastie meal. The fish & squid meals looked nice, and our parents said they were good. The big brekkies were really nothing special, eggs cooked too fast, no seasoning on mushies - very underwhelming - at $30 a pop, we definitely expected more. Coffee and milkshake were very nice, as were the chips that came with the kids meal. All in all, it was average and very expensive for the quality of food. We may return out of convenience. However, we won't rush to come back.

I have been twice to Surfing Lizard Secret Harbour. The first time, I ordered the famous Grandma’s Fried Rice and was not disappointed! Exquisite, rich flavours. The second time I ordered the Açai Bowl. Was very impressed with taste and presentation. The coffee and chai latte I ordered was also very good. The atmosphere and customer service was excellent. To the owner Tam, I love the business you have created and the sincerity you pour into it. I will be coming back for more and recommending to family and friends

SERVICE - 1 Star because it is self service - you select a number, then place your own order and pay - if you need help you have to wave down or grab the attention of wait staff as they pass. Okay, this was no big deal - except for the kicker, when you pay they have the audacity to ask you if you want to tip! What exactly are they asking us to tip for? They don't do anything - how rude!

COFFEE: Ordered Capachinos and Mocha - nice big cups - very nice

FOOD: Food prices quite expensive - are in line with a sit down restaurant where staff serve you and take your order vs this self service cafe. We ordered:

Tom Yum - Mainly broth, noodles, tomatoes and small pieces of chicken - but the broth was so sickly sweet (tom yum is spicy not sweet!) it was impossible to finish without feeling ill. From memory around $25.

Large chips with chicken salt, no gravy and aoili. - Took 3 attempts to get this right -
#1 - Small serving of chips with gravy, no salt
#2 - Large Serving, gravy and Aoili - No Salt
#3 - Large Serving 2 small tubs of Aoili and salt. The two tiny tubs of aoili were different, one tasted really bitter - like a cheap garlic mayonaise, and the other one had a creamier texture and nicer taste.
Chips were nice but over priced at $16 for a bowl of fries and some mayonaise.

ATMOSPHERE: Nice large venue, has potential - would return for a coffee but not the food - and would not tip!

Grandmas Fried Rice absolutely delicious. Love the decor and the iPad ordering made it quite quick from ordering to eating.

Tried their signature dish 72 hours slow cooked chicken pho broth and grandma fried rice both dish was pretty average, broth was quite weak and full of noodle, fried rice and broth both expensive considering to used ingredients.
Menu price is bit tricky, lots of add on which cost over$35 for just fried rice which is definitely not worthy.
Chef by profession and spent more than 26 years in various hospitality industry, I fully understand how hard is running the business however not convinced with pricing and quality.
Best wishes and good luck to business owner.

We absolutely love Surfing Lizard! Have been regular breakfast diners at Tam’s Coogee restaurant for years now! Today we decided to make a trip to the new Secret Harbour restaurant and we are so glad we did! It’s just amazing! So much seating, food just as delicious! The beautiful beach atmosphere! Tam you should be so proud of what you and your family have achieved!
